Zmodeler3/GTAV Vehicle Light IDs

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I've noticed a few models here and there with false lighting IDs and or some people who do not have knowledge of this. I'm just posting a list put together by Solo from GTA-Inside for anybody who needs this information.

All light IDs must be set through vertex mode in Zmodeler3.

left headlight (headlight_l) = 1
right headlight (headlight_r) = 2
left taillight (taillight_l) = 3
right taillight (taillight_l) = 4
front left indicator (indicator_lf) = 5
front right indicator (indicator_lr) = 6
rear left indicator (indicator_lr) = 7
rear right indicator (indicator_rr) = 8
left brakelight (brakelight_l) = 9
right brakelight (brakelight_r) = 10
middle brakelight (brakelight_m) = 11
left reverse light (reversinglight_l) = 12
right reverse light (reversinglight_r) = 13
extra light 1 (extralight_1) = 14
extra light 2 (extralight_2) = 15

I am not sure of the existence of additional extralights. If anyone wants to prove this, I will gladly add that to this list.

If you're asking this, it probably doesn't concern you. It's only for people who use Zmodeler.

The emissive material on a vehicle's generic lights (headlights, indicators, etc) have a unique numerical value depending on the function of the light. This makes it possible for the game to recognize which materials should light up when the corresponding lights are turned on/off. The value can be added or changed in the properties tab in vertex mode.

Customization is key to my gaming experience. I take pictures, do textures and lore-friendly vehicles.

Zmodeler is telling me that extralight_3 and 4 are using a random id when I assigned 16 and 17

Doesn't Zmodeler say that for everything? lol

I've used the extralight_1 ID for 3 & 4 and they work fine. I'd recommend using those.

When you have Trouble with the Extralights import first the Submarine in Zmod. on this are all 4 Extralights. After this import your Model and you have not a Error after the export. And you must are sure that you set the ID´s on Polymodus and not on only selected.

Those colors are changed in the carcols.meta under the siren colors and also in the accompanied YTD.

In Zmodeler, when you want a vehicle to be ELS do you have to assign it to a special name? Like ELS_1??

Alright so I hate bumping old threads, but I have a bit information to contribute, mainly with regards to environmental lighting and coronas.

All 4 extra lights can work, but in order to have all four enabled at once, with environmental lighting, you need to have 4 extra light nodes. If you have only 3, then the third will be the only one to have environmental lighting, if you have two, then only those two will be enabled, I don't know about just 1.

If you have extra light 3 & 4 but no extra light 1 or 2 then no lights will show. Normally when there are no extra light nodes the car's headlights will act as the nodes for these both, but having extra light 3 without extra light 1 and 2 will do nothing except disable those lights.

Important note: ANY extra lights on your vehicle WILL disable the headlights acting as foglights, so if you plan on having extra lights for takedowns, spotlights, etc. and you value your vehicle's ability to use foglights, make extralight 1 and 2 your foglights, and then add BOTH extralight 3 and 4 as whatever else you'd like. if you only want one, just have two in the same place I guess.

An example here, where I'm able to get a working spotlight that actually shines light properly, while retaining headlights, is extralights 1 and 2 are basically copies of the emissive headlights l and r, respectively, whilst extralights 3 and 4 are both in the spotlight.

I hope I've explained this well enough to anyone who comes across this, confused. If you're still having issues, try importing the submersible like solo suggested, if not, hmu on discord, @Allen#2525
