I doubt it will. If I told you my current PC can run GTAIV maxed out with an ENB with 100 FPS, would you believe me? I have a Radeon HD 4350, an AMD Phenom II 910 and 8gb of memory. Do you even know w

  • Is that even a PC? Regardless, can you post your specs please?

Hi, R.C. Good to meet you, and thanks for the positive feedback. The price of a new PC for this game will depend on how high you set your standards. Selling PCs for a few years in a couple of retail locations, some parents with children or adults who like to play games in their spare time simply just want the game to run, and aren't concerned about details. Others have higher expectations and want lush graphical details and smooth gameplay no matter what goes on screen. You also want to try and tell us what your budget is so we can work out a system for you. As far as what you said earlier about trying to get the most realism you can: That's probably referring to high polygon count car models and added graphical effects such as reflection, bloom and higher resolution textures, all of which need some serious PC muscle. So I would expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $6-800 for the tower, and whatever you want on the monitor and other extras. This is whether you build it yourself or not. Building it from scratch gives you more freedom of choice, but you'd get similar results getting a PC at a store like Best Buy and getting an upper-middle class graphics card and power supply to upgrade it to where it needs to be.

Future proofing was also mentioned by someone earlier. How long would you like this to last?

Thanks for all the advice guys. I want the computer to last for a very long time and for all future mod updates for GTA IV and if someone comes up with a mod for GTA V when it comes out. I was looking at these two computers:

http://www.alienware.com/Landings/desktops.aspx

I can afford both but if the Alienware X51 will work then I will buy it. I am EXTREMELY concerned about the detail, sound, realistic look and feel of the game, and smooth gameplay. I HATE lag and want to eliminate as much of it as possible. I know i am asking for the moon but I'm hoping it's possible!! The Alienware Aurora is obviously the better computer but it

I don't think the mod will creative any install challenges if you just follow the written steps. YouTube videos will help with the rest if there's anything lacking. Just make sure to back up the files you're going to edit before you actually edit them.

Pretty poor. It's also a slim tower so if you get something crappy (which that is, by gaming standards), you can't upgrade it, ever. Look into a company like iBuyPower.

That would work fine for a starter machine.

As far building a PC, I honestly wouldnt buy a six-core anytime soon, you spend so much and really.. you dont NEED all six. I have a Corei7 2600K overclocked to 4.2 GHZ. I have yet to find a game i cannot MAX out. It is a GREAT CPU, for i believe around $300. As for laptops im not sure, you need to spend a ton of money to get a good gaming laptop, party because they arent meant for gaming ha. I Did have trouble with RAM issues with 4gb, so i Upgraded to 8 gigs and i run it flawless now. IT was more of a .... issue, i would be playing GTA and it would get choppy when i was flying a heli, i upgraded ram and i have no issues now. So for GTA id recommend 8 gigs, but hey its very easily upgraded and cheap. I built mine spending most of my money on my CPU and keeping it cool. Two months later i put a much better Graphics card (Radeon 5770 to a GTX 560 TI) The 560 ti maxes anything ive thrown at it (Crysis 2 full DX11 Tesselation ect.) So i really believe in that card, it was also right under $300. So I'd recommend anybody building a PC to spend most of their money on CPU, everything else is fairly easily upgraded.

Yeah, that's why I've never liked budget-computers. But a week ago he hoped he would soon be up and running and as it takes longer to ship alienwares, we'll just have to wait and see how he's experiencing it. If he didn't change his mind.

There's a difference between today's games and tomorrows games. I think anybody who doesn't take the future into consideration when building a new PC is out of their mind. Games today are only coded to make use of 3-4 cores because that's all that exists on most retail store shelves today. However, I'm starting to see some 6-core machines pop up at stores like Staples and Best Buy, which is a sure sign that more are on their way. Future games will take advantage of more cores. My Core 2 Duo e6700 was great in 2006, and by 2007 the Core 2 Quads had a huge advantage over me. Everything will get obsolete eventually, and if you plan on hanging onto your hardware for a few years at a time, you better make it count unless you like spending money frequently. Furthermore, if you're building a gaming machine, there's no such thing as "need". Everything is a luxury. It all depends on how much you want to pamper yourself.

Visit me on youtube. The most common reason for crashing is user error. Make sure you have the latest RAGE, ScripthookV, ScripthookVdotnet and turn off your antivirus. Make sure you have an up to date gameconfig.xml as well. Use Allbo's plugin troubleshooter to find any errors too.

Good template, but those parts are out of date already. I do however like the description of each system, and the bottom line pricing of each "type" of gaming desktop actually doesn't change much. Builds that were $1600 6 years ago could handle things at max settings, and so can builds at $1600 today.

Okay, I was looking for a nice graphics card to have for my computer somewhere around $200. That might be too small, though. $300? Anything good for that amount?

My CPU and GPU now are:

Windows 7 Home Premium

Dell XPS 8300

Intell Core i5-2320 CPU 3.00 GHz

6 GB RAM

64-bit

and the GPU:

Radeon HD 6450. Thanks for your help!
