Your MoBo won't support a intel processor..... You need to change the MoBo as well.

I changed to an Intel Z77 build. So everything is okay.

This is what I eventually went with

I doubt it will. If I told you my current PC can run GTAIV maxed out with an ENB with 100 FPS, would you believe me? I have a Radeon HD 4350, an AMD Phenom II 910 and 8gb of memory. Do you even know w

  • Is that even a PC? Regardless, can you post your specs please?

Aw hell naw. That thing will either blow up or implode when you play GTA.

I am not using two monitors. At the time I thought the more video memory the better. I have already placed the order so I can't change it. That is just me being an ignorant first time gaming computer buyer. As long as it can run the game at decent to high settings I will be satisfied.

It's fine, it'll give you the option to use two monitors later on.

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for a place that is good for building custom pcs. I have about 700-900 dollar budget and i'm looking for a place that I can get the most for my money. Also if you could recommend what components i would need for good performance and graphics would really be appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance!! -Nick

Are you referring to a place that will build it for you? Or just a place to buy parts? Places that custom build for you will cost in excess of $1000 in most cases.

So i got this test bench computer. Running a GTX550ti, And i just made one hell of a good overclock on it, Experts said he couldn't go beyond 1025 Mhz Core speed.

Well this are the settings right now,

Core Clock: 1250 Mhz

Memory Clock: 2450 Mhz = x2 = 4900 Mhz

Core Voltage: 1.25

Temp at full load for 2 hours BF3 at ultra, 66 Degrees.

Idle temp 40

Max fan speed at 2 hours BF3: 34%.

So its running quit good :)

So i recommend this card for its price its really fast.

Thoughts on this build? I'd prefer to run on high settings. How many FPS you think it'd handle?

Thanks!

It's okay, it won't scale very well for other games. I hate to say it, but AMD is sucking pretty badly right now. Not only do they not have an answer for Kepler, but their CPUs have been well past the point of no return for years now. And this is coming from someone with a 955 Black Edition as his CPU.

If you can front the cash, get a Kepler based nVidia card. If not, at least change the CPU to an Intel because that's going to bottleneck your performance for future games. Guild Wars 2 is a fantastic example of that if you go look up some benchmarks.

If you need to have a laptop for some reason, that would be okay for games at reasonably high details for the next year or two. I'd invest in a desktop if you don't need it to be portable.
