I doubt it will. If I told you my current PC can run GTAIV maxed out with an ENB with 100 FPS, would you believe me? I have a Radeon HD 4350, an AMD Phenom II 910 and 8gb of memory. Do you even know w

  • Is that even a PC? Regardless, can you post your specs please?

Aw hell naw. That thing will either blow up or implode when you play GTA.

So as I was looking for a PCI 3.0 motherboard and all of them I came across are made for Intel processors and I have an AMD processor. Are there any AMD based PCIe 3.0 motherboards? I am asking for the GTX 650TI for Christmas but now I dont want it because there are no AMD based motherboards that are PCIe 3.0. Any suggestions? Thanks

Most video cards don't need PCIe 3.0 and will run perfectly fine on 2.1 or even 2.0.  The 650Ti is backwards compatible as well if I am not mistaken.

Sorry all of the posts.. this will be my last one. My mom has put a laptop in layaway so now I'm stuck with this..  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Lenovo+-+IdeaPad+15.6%26%2334%3B+Laptop+-+6GB+Memory+-+500GB+Hard+Drive+-+Silver+Gray/4676403.p?id=1218505324513&skuId=4676403 can it run gta iv?

It appears as if that laptop has graphics integrated onto the motherboard rather than having a separate card; usually integrated graphics are good for just general browsing and not intensive gaming.  My guess would be no, it would not play GTA IV.

I currently have a laptop that runs an integrated graphics card that is so so.

Does not run GTAIV very well.

Got 400mb graphics space in game

Just a quickie, what kind of gameplay should I expect on a

I5-2400 Quad CPU @3.10ghz -3.30ghz
8 GB DDR RAM
EVGA GTX GeForce 660ti 'Superclocked' 2gb
Windows 7 Professional

Rig? I figure it should be pretty good, but I don't know if the processor is a bottleneck.

Very nice; I don't think you'd get too bad of a bottleneck though the possibility is always there.  I have an i5 2500k paired up with a 1gb 550Ti and it runs fine for me.

Alright, good! :D Tomorrow I get to slap that graphics card in, can't wait to finally stop using the onboard Intel 2000.

This is an awesome forum. Im throwing together a couple of desktops and I just wanted a short list of specs I should be looking for in a certain price range. For example, if you could put together a decent parts list for $300 and a list for $400. Just an idea. I have no idea where to start for a video card or motherboard.... Any help is greatly appreciated.

so I made a thread already suggesting if it would be a good idea to get this pc. And before I get it, I would like suggestions from players who experience diff pc and played gta4, but the pc I was looking into is this one

I got suggested for it, but it always good to get a variety of ideas from everyone.

I appreciate your responce although im confused. Unreal said that PCIe 3.0 cards will only give you a small boost if you have a PCIe 2.0 motherboard... who is right?!?! =p

No problem :D.  PCIe 3.0 cards will indeed gain a boost in performance when paired with a PCIe 3.0 capable motherboard, but a PCIe 3.0 card will still run well on a PCIe 2.0 or 2.1 motherboard.

recently made a build for a desktop just as to get started on lcdfr. Any info to my specs working for mod will be greatly appreciated.

Nice work on this!;

You went with an Ivy-Bridge processor; an i5 to boot.  Good choice.

The Radeon HD 7770 is quite the impressive card as well; should run GTA IV with quite a bit of room to spare.

RAM and HDD are good as well; hopefully that is a 7200RPM hard drive if you're using it for a primary one though.

My one concern is your power supply; 500w seems a bit low and the PSU is one of the most crucial components of a build - it is keeping the rest of your parts from being fried.  I'd personally upgrade to at least 600w, or use the PSU calculator below to see what is recommended;

------

Just for comparison, I have the setup listed below and can run GTA IV and LCPDFR [with supporting mods, such as ELS and an ENB] beautifully.

Intel i5-2500k

Nvidia GTX 550Ti

650w Cooler Master GX PSU

1TB Western Digital Caviar Black 7200RPM HDD

Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 DDR3 RAM

Thanks for the help. Glad to see I'm headed down the right road. And there will be no problem upgrading the power supply. Like I said all information will be used before I make the final purchase. But thanks again

No problem; always happy to be of assistance. :D

These are my specs, will they do?

Processor: http://ark.intel.com/products/53491/Intel-Pentium-Processor-G850-(3M-Cache-2_90-GHz)

Hard Drive: 500GB

Windows 7

Graphics: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/product_geforce_9600gt_uk.html

DirectX 10 Sound Card

That processor is in the lower range of Intel processors; the Pentium series is a step above Intel's lowest bracket of Celeron.  The minimum specs require a Core 2 Duo [which has been discontinued for quite some time], though I'm not entirely sure where that is in relation to your processor.  If you can upgrade, I would - an Ivy Bridge Core i5 is the ideal.  That graphics card is also in need of an upgrade; if you want to have any chance at running GTA IV with a decent FPS then I'd recommend something like the one I currently have; an EVGA 550Ti; only about $130 new and it gets the job done.

Hehe, no problem. :D - If the Ivy Bridge processors are out of your price range, don't hesitate to opt for the barely older Sandy Bridge counterparts.  I have an i5 2500k in my rig and it does all I can throw at it and then some.

I've just upgraded to an i3 and 16GB Memory, graphics card to be updated next!
