[WIP][API][PREVIEW VIDEO] LSPDFR Emergency Panic Button

Featured Replies

After suggesting the idea of a panic button plugin for LSPDFR generated quite a bit of interest, I decided to go ahead and make the plugin myself.

Original thread:

When you're in trouble and need as much backup as possible, simply press the desired key and watch as the cavalry roll in. I'm still working on a few little details but this should be ready to release soon.

Please let me know of any suggestions/feedback you may have.

Here's the video:

Awesome idea. In fact, I regret that I didn't see your suggestion thread. If I had, I might have taken care of it, haha.

I think it looks great, judging from the video. The only thing I might suggest is make the dispatch audio a bit more detailed. Like, instead of the dispatcher saying "Backup required", she can say "We have an officer requesting assistance". And then instead of "Respond Code 3", its a little more serious, because its an officer's panic alarm, so she should say "Code 99, All Units Respond".

Not a big deal, its just me being OCD about the semantics, haha.

Great work!

Please do not PM me for any kind of technical support.
I unfortunately do not have enough free time to answer every PM that I get. For issues with my plugins, please post in the comments section of the file, or it's forum thread. You'll get a much quicker response from me there than if you send me a PM; I do my best to respond to every question in the comments sections. For API/programming questions, please post them in the API Development forum, so all developers can benefit from the answer as well. Thanks!

Not a problem, the audio there was just to get everything working. As I said, it's not final and I've got a bit of tweaking to do.

I'm glad you like it.

Forgot to mention in the original post, but the settings are all customisable. The number of units that respond is randomly generated. By default, there's a minimum of 3 normal units will respond and a maximum of 8. Between 0 and 2 swat units will respond also.

Animate it so that he actually reaches for the radio when pressing the panic button, I'm assuming its a button on the radio as it is with our officers here in the UK. And if you can have a different audio sound:

"Most agencies panic button is stating "10-18" or "step it up, code 3" over the radio if you're covert about it. Others will literally just scream "need assistance/backup":

https://youtu.be/X1L1APOGhLI?t=2m29s

10-18!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAPPpoFfqTE

Need assistance!"

That'd be really good, I'm assuming the LAPD will have this system in place, seeing how large they are

I like the idea of the animation. I'll definetely look into that.

The idea of the panic button is that they don't need to use the radio. It's so that if you're unable to speak, you can use the button instead. I don't think adding in the speech would be needed. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Our officers use these radios, if you see the orange button, thats the panic button. So in an emergencyy, they reach for it on their vest and press the button. I don't know what the US uses, but I'm assuming that the button is on some part of the radio, so the animation should reflect them reaching for it. If that makes sense, so when the officer presses the panic button, instead of it magically happening, an animation makes it look like he's reaching for it

Unfortunately not at the moment. Accidentally updated my game and am having trouble reverting it so no more developments until the rage plugin is updated.
