no, i wasn't working on it for a while.

Are you planning to continue working on those models? The FPUI (2013 & 2016), the FPIS and the Rambulance?

Because ( i haven't played in a few months) but last time I played, your 2013 FPUI was still the best Utility on any website and I wouldn't be surprised if it still is. You'd done a lot of work on it.

Honestly, I have no idea. No matter how I try I can't even make the current extras work properly. For example the steady burn mode with the flashing ambers at the back change when I get out of the car, where one extra light lights up for no reason:

image.png.1cb978eca75b45f83c9e1244795108a4.png

Another one of this weird bug is that sometimes the primary light stage has that very same extra always on, sometime it's flashing out of sync, sometimes it's flashing in sync.

Anyway even if these worked properly, there's still the problem of accuracy.

Light stage 1 should be like:

Light stage 2 should be like:

Light stage 3 is fine as it is right now, but the lights need to be synchronized (I'm guessing this is an ELS bug).

Also the spotlights should be added to the "takedown" lights as well, so when you turn it on, the spotlights turn on with the arjent's takedown lights.

Can we get at least a fix for the ELS Ford PIU, because I can't even use this car anymore. Like you can see on the picture the red blue lights are always on even when the lights are off!

When the lights are on, those lights shine with a steady burn (and those are not the steady burn lights of the LAPD as you can see they are on even at the back).

My guess is, it's a bug because you don't have extra 2 and extra 3 only extra 1,4,5,6,7,8,9.

And also please add the spotlight to the takedown lights so I don't have to manually turn them on with the spotlight.

Dude like chill out.  Some people can't be working on mods at all times during the year, and to be completely honest with you, there is no way to technically "fix" the lights as ELS is far too restrictive and there is currently no script that allows switching carcols on the fly to create light stages.

Attaching the spotlights to takedowns would make no sense, since you would lose the corona for the spotlights and they are also controlled independent of the takedowns in the real world.

Really detailed and awesome model and textures, seems the only problems are with the ELS stuff. By chance do you have optional files for NON-ELS?, or do you plan on continuing to do vehicle projects for LSPDFR?.

If you ever did car mod for GTA, you know it's a 5 minute work to fix little things like that, and ofcourse it can be fixed. Take a look at the LSPD sedan pack (however buggy it is, it still has the correct light patterns with absolutely no ELS bugs).

To my eyes, once those are fixed, the car is finished, because like I've mentioned everything else is just spot on.

Yes, 5 minutes to switch names and add extras to create another incorrect pattern.  Like I said before, an accurate light pattern for the utility at this time is not possible with els or default lighting.

Then you do it?

Well I'm going to assume you don't know these, but

1.:

Most of the car mods are locked, meaning you can't import them into Zmodeler

2.:

You need a paid license for Zmodeler which I don't have (I had one for Zmodeler 2 back when I made car mods for GTA IV)

3.:

I don't know GTA V's materials / dummys / whatever more configurations they have.

If this was GTA IV, I still had my Zmod and the file wasn't locked, I'd have certainly already done it 😉

So you dont have any experience modding in V, you dont know anything about setting up models in V, yet you call someone with experience and knowledge negative because he said something impossible cant be done.

IV's model architecture is very similar to GTA V. The extra system that ELS uses is present in IV as well. It uses the LOD system as well.

I'm honestly worried about some of your logical reasoning. You can't connect A to B.

And I have never called Desmond anything negative. I've mentioned this before, this Ford PIU is still one of the very best car mods out there, if not the best. Because if you look at it in game, all the materials are set up correctly, all the equipment is there, everything is like on the real one.

Now how hard is it to understand for YOU guys, that the ELS version of this car has an extra light (red blue front and back) that is always on. Even when the lights are off. This makes the car look bad in game.

Guess what this can be fixed by simply making copies of the extra1 and extra4 and use them for extra2 and extra3. Seriously stop trying to act like you know stuff in something, you clearly don't.

Also I'm guessing we're really derailing the thread now, so I'll stop posting about this from now on.

Yes, the architecture is similar, but very much not the same.

Regarding your issue with the steady burns, Im fairly certain thats a problem on your end. perhaps you edited the xml? No-one else seems to be having this problem and i tested it and never encountered this issue.

I have tried the original .vcf and even tried editing it myself, but it seems to me that ELS just cannot do anything with 2 missing extras. I had a vcf edit where the lights were flashing occasionally when I'm in the car, but even then the lights weren't synced. Also the same bug, when I exit the vehicle, those lights I mentioned went into steady burn (kinda like a CHP setup, except it was only those lights)

Any update on that LASD explorer, been waiting for a release on that.

Also any update on those CHP FPIU's, would love to have them with @Sentinel55's CHP CVPI and Charger.

Not much progress, but ill post a link to alpha version models here. I would be able to do that in couple months.

No problem, great to hear that the alpha versions are coming soon.

@Desmond98 I just thought to myself, this is only a suggestion not anything you need to do but you could see about talking to @Sentinel55 about the explorer, he was said he hated exporlers and didnt like them but he said if he were to make a pack for it he was going to do exactly what you're doing currently, a 13 and 16 pack, maybe try hitting him up about it, you dont have to do it but it would be cool to see a matching lighbar pack type of thing.
