I never said it was impossible, I'm saying it's impractical. But hey, apparently you know best. If you think wikipedia scaling in Zmodeler is a selling point for your cars, as opposed to a practical scale that works with the game engine, by all means, continue doing what you're doing. Just remember that the game is absolutely far from accurate scale, and as a result, handling will be an absolute bitch to nail down -- this will cause discrepancies with other cars too.

Well, I don't want to waste time to prove something, just want say good luck, and if my words have seemed offensive, I didn't mean anything bad

dude, all the dimensions of both the FPIU and the FPIS are on the Ford website where you can compare scaling to other cars and different height people.

Terrible photo choice using NYSP's gigantic Freedom-based FPIU, this will guarantee confusion as there are many people on here who think all lightbars are the same length.

But you're right. A Ford Explorer is not a big vehicle -- at all. Neither is a Taurus. They're tiny.

I will say though, that I think Desmond98 is being quite a bit more arrogant than what is considered healthy by emphasizing "correct scaling" using values pulled off Wikipedia, over all sources -- if it was that simple, why don't other people do the same thing? Instead of trying to get correct dimensions as according to zmodeler standards, perhaps try considering what is practical in the real world because I can guarantee you all that 0% of vehicles in Grand Theft Auto V are precise in scaling to their real world counterparts, and especially not precise in scaling to the size of the NPCs.

I am 6'4-6'5 and I stand taller than the Ford Explorer. I own one. It sits in my driveway. It is not big, it is actually rather small. However, pulling Wikipedia values and placing them in zmod does not make it correct nor should it be grounds for gloating on, especially when GTA V is already a game where "realism" is far from reach in most things that Rockstar has implemented.

LOL. NO IT ISN'T.

No, you're quite right, calling it an SUV is a push. But it is a cross-over between an SUV. And it's certainly taller than a normal saloon car. Furthermore, your height, of 6'4/6'5, is above the normal US average, the FPUI comes to 6'0, so it's not that much of a surprise that it comes short on you. My point is, and remains, that it is taller than people think, it's not a small car, especially when compared to the Vic & FPI.

Furthermore, I'll be honest, Desmond was the first to bring the FPUI to LSPDFR, when people were still making vanilla cars with lightbars. He did a cracking job, and whilst it's not 100% guaranteed that the height will be the exact same, I'd say he nailed it. I certainly wouldn't label it as 'arrogance', he took the time to model it to the exact dimensions on the Wikipedia page, which is something that others haven't done, so he has the right to say "correct scaling".

[Sidenote: Just because it's Wikipedia, it doesn't make it incorrect. If you took the time to look at the source of the information in the References for the specs, it's actually from the Ford Dimensions page, so "wikipedia of all places" isn't necessary. Wikipedia is editable, but it's also moderated.]

Just because GTA isn't a realistic platform, doesn't mean that accuracy and realism isn't greatly appreciated, what makes certain modders stand out over the rest is the accuracy and quality in a model. FSX isn't a realistic flight simulator, yet the best developers take a long amount of time and effort into creating exceedingly good aircraft. The platform we have is GTA, and he's doing the best to ensure that it's a highly accurate portrayal of the real life thing.

What's more is  I've been following Desmonds work from page 1 (of 53) and I've never seen a moment where Desmond is arrogant, or pushing his car as the 'best'. He's worked hard, and with lots of people to make the car, and I personally would say it is the best FPUI out there, especially considering how Desmond takes suggestions and advice, and continues to develop his vehicle.

utility next to a Tahoe...its not a tall vehicle, go to a ford dealer and stand next to one, they are a hybrid cross between a car and an suv and desmonds model is the correct scale

You're right,SUV wasn't the right description, hybrid/crossover would have been a better term.

I'm finally successfully passed all the exams :)

So, update for fpiu coming at this week and for Real Freeway Signs too.

By the way, what's your order of priority for projects? And are you still planning to make all three variants (CHP/LAPD/LASD) versions of the FPUI 2013?

Yes, still planning, about priority : unfortunately, I can't concentrate at this moment, but i have 24/7 free time untill Janyary, 12.

So, I hope to make big progress with something.
Btw, if someone curious about ELS version of FPIU: i think i not will convert to ELS lighting, because all extras will be used for ELS and it's not ok for me.

How are we gonna be able to use your model, since most LSPDFR users will be using ELS, and your model being non-ELS. Just a simple question, no means to insult your work.

Els works with non-els vehicles

It can have a total of three extras.

Tbh I'm not all that bothered about ELS on this vehicle at the moment. I really like this model and I'd prefer this than have an inferior ELS version, plus I like all the extras that you have, they're awesome.

But it'd be unwise not to implement ELS on future projects, it does give so much more functionality than the default GTA lighting. Non-ELS models in GTA IV was very rare, and very few people didn't use ELS. Considering the lighting patterns of US vehicles is so complex, ELS becomes necessary to have features like alley lights, traffic advisor, code 2 & code 3 lighting.

Just a question:

Instead using parts ( like pushbar, antennas, etc) as extras, they can't be set as mod parts?

Just like the multipurpose CVPI from bxbugs.

Prophet did one livestream few months ago where he showed the car, it even had and K9 cage as mod part:

https://youtu.be/sJS2Mg59ZWs?t=12m40s

its starts at 12m40s

This way you could make the car as an ELS vehicle, and would keep all the extras parts too.

Desmond I've always wondered why the spotlights and antennas were extras, especially since the spotlights are set to required extras in your instructions anyways. LAPD vehicles will almst always have those antennas.

well, but cars will spawning without mod parts, so its not a best solution, but yeah, better than nothing, i was thinking about this.
