GitHub repo talk thread

I thought it might be a nice idea to add a LSPDFR GitHub repo, where we (this explicitly includes you!), could maintain some general helper library specially for policing related modifications. This could cover things like the Vector3Extensions and other stuff like useful callout positions you guys mentioned somewhere. I would give a few of you admin as well, as I won't be able to manage it all the time. Pretty much depends on whether you think you would contribute there. Let me know.

Just like LCPDFR, examples would also go there.

What do you think?

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Yeah, I think it would be useful to have. There might be a couple of things that I could contribute, and it would be useful to have for creating a database of locations and such.

I can help you administering it if you'd like.

Please do not PM me for any kind of technical support.
I unfortunately do not have enough free time to answer every PM that I get. For issues with my plugins, please post in the comments section of the file, or it's forum thread. You'll get a much quicker response from me there than if you send me a PM; I do my best to respond to every question in the comments sections. For API/programming questions, please post them in the API Development forum, so all developers can benefit from the answer as well. Thanks!

I don't know how much I could contribute, but having freely available libraries in one place sounds like a great idea.

This'd be really useful for new developers. If you need any help with administration of it, let me know. I have a few things I may be able to contribute. :)

Okay thanks for the positive feedback guys, I will set it up soon. If you could drop your GitHub names here (or follow me at https://github.com/LMSDev), that would be great, so I can set up permissions once everything is in place.

Ok, it's been set up at https://github.com/LMSDev/LSPDFR-API. I will add all of the people who replied here soon, but if you don't feel comfortable with Git or managing a repo yet, please tell me. This way we can ensure only people who have some experience have full access while everyone else can still contribute but needs their contribution checked (so called pull requests). I just want to prevent things like temp files (bin, obj etc.) cluttering the repo. Of course you can always be granted full access later on, if you feel that you are familiar with Git then.

Okay you have been added. Feel free to use the code available there (not much yet, I admit...) or contribute your own code. Official thread: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/53743-github-repository/

This will become a discussion thread for the repo.

I've added an example to the repo on using inheritance/base classes.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was wondering if someone could provide an example for creating some type of GUI/Inputbox. There's literally no information I can find about that in the docs and elsewhere (I was looking for GwenForm).

Would be really appreciated!

I've never tried that before, unfortunately.

Maybe @FinKone or @Straysify can chime in, since Police Radio and Bait Car both have some GUI elements to them.

(...) (I was looking for GwenForm) (...)

Albo1125, do you need something specific on that form? I used GwenForm in my plugin (screenshots here: https://www.gta5-mods.com/scripts/enraged-trucking), I could create an exemplary form to show how it works.

BTW GwenForm is not a part of LSPD:FR but RAGE Plugin Hook, what location would be suitable for that kind of example?

Edited by LtFlash

Yeah, that enRAGEd trucking mod on GTA5-Mods uses the GwenForm functionality in RPH - it looks quite nice actually. But I was unable to find any documentation on how to use it anywhere...

Thanks a ton!

+1...I think I'll be making use of that!!
