Zmodeler Developer Likeley Releasing GTA V Importer This Weekend

Featured Replies

According to this post, the developer for Zmodeler said he is releasing an import tool for GTA V this weekend.

Now I'm no developer myself, but I believe this will allow us to import vehicle models into GTA V! If so that's awesome.

Edit - Found an image that he posted on the forum, the image shows a ball model attached to the back of a Buffalo 2. This is part of the testing that he has done so I added the image for anyone interested:

Added image that I found.

As far as I can tell it sounds more like he's releasing a plugin for zmodeler 3 so you can import gtav file formats. That's not the same as exporting to gtav file formats.

It does say importer/exporter on the post title.

Summary:
Importer (+some fixes in version 3.1.0 prior to release) will take several days more.
Exporter is on a stage when I can explore and test things, that are unknown in format. Those things which are impossible to decode when exporting is not available. So this will go on after importer release. Can't give any estimated timeframe here too, it's all the way of guess, trial and error attempts.

Does this also mean that there is a possibility in the air of converting GTA IV model modifications into GTA V with exporter ?

dont quote me on this because I'm not 100% sure, but I think the importer tool is for bringing in models to GTA V

like I say, I'm not completely sure but by the looks of what the guy wrote on the forums it seems that way, but I might have it the wrong way

So does that mean car mods for GTA V or nah? I'm bit of a noob when it comes to stuff like this so sorry if it's a stupid question haha

I think so. I'm a bit confused by it as well. Someone should ask on the Zmodeler forums. I would love a better Highway Patrol Unit and CVPIs

It's only a matter of time before we see CVPI's, TPI's, Chargers, Tahoe's, and Suburbans in the Game.

Hopefully, they should use the same Texture Templates as the IV Models.

I really hope so. I browse the GTAIV model download section here wishing something similar was available in GTAV. Now that the importer is available, my prayers might be answered.
