One would assume that you would have to have not updated your game before backing up the old game files?

One would assume it was common sense if you're making a backup of something, you're trying to preserve that specific version?
All jokes aside, yes obviously you need to have not updated in order to backup the current patch you're on, if you update then you're just making a backup of the current update.

So is there no way to roll back to the previous patch?

So let me get this straight. The recent update not long ago to the game has caused LSPDFR to not work, correct?

That's what I get for being late to the party I guess.

Can I just vent for a second here. I mean seriously, why isn't this mod backwards compatible? Shouldn't it work with a previous version of GTA? I download the latest version of the mod, today, and install it. First it says, "LSPDFR no longer supports GTA version 350" or whatever. So okay, I update the game to whatever the current version of it is today. I launch the mod's .exe and NOW it says, "LSPDFR doesn't support this version, it must be too new."

I mean wth. I don't understand how it's this hard to launch this mod. I mean are you guys trying to make it so the people who pirate this game can't play or something? I don't pirate, I assure you I have bought this game twice on two separate platforms, but that is what I am reading around the internet. That for some reason the makers of this mod feel the need to help Rockstar on the pirating front, not like they haven't made well over a billion dollars on this game or anything. I just don't understand what the deal is, I get it, you make the mod for free, you can do whatever you want, who am I to complain blah blah blah. But, I am exactly your target audience from what I gather, so there's that.

GTA IV and LCPDFR were a pain sometimes, but they never gave me this crap. Either way, thanks for the work you guys do. These mods are awesome when they work.

LSPDFR does not do anything to prevent playing on a pirated copy. It is developed on a specific version of RPH and GTA (should be the current version), and RPH is also developed on a specific version of GTA (again should be the current version). Because of Rockstar's updates, newer versions of the mod and RPH may not work on older versions of the game; and older versions of RPH and LSPDFR may not work on newer versions of the game.

You can vent all you want, but you're venting into dead air. You probably want to try here: http://forums.ragepluginhook.net

Fair enough. I was just frustrated from trying to get this to work for the last hour or so. I don't know why people keep saying LSPDFR doesn't work with pirated copies then, I just figured maybe that had something to do with this.

RPH doesn't work on pirated copies and LSPDFR relies on RPH, but like Cyan said, you'd have to go to their forum.

Okay thanks. Definitely venting in the wrong place. My bad. I didn't even see that Cyan had replied until you said something and I refreshed.

I must create it and just write "-scOfflineOnly" ?

And where do you create this? In the root directory, or in the documents folder?

Heads up,  I got an email about a new update coming next week.  Make your backups now just in case.

Hi guys, firstly apologies if this has already been solved but I can't seem to get it to work, basically I have the legal disc version of the game and constantly keep having to update via Rockstar without a choice which resets all my mods each time. Is there a simple way I can avoid this happening? do I just follow the steam version solution here regarding backups? really at a loss as I just downloaded several vehicle / skin / corona mods and installed them only to have them wiped after the update then installed them again but copped another update immediately. Anyways again apologies if this question is stupid but not really an expert on all this stuff so any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys.

I honestly don't know if the same approach of backing up files works for he retails/rockstar launcher editions of the game. By all means try it out.
I know the RPH now has a backup feature built in so my guess would be it should work.

Thanks LukeD for the help, I'll have a go tonight, must be a solution to this as it becomes pretty annoying having to re install everything everytime they decide to update, if anyone has any tips please post em

Mine kept updating, even though I followed these steps 1 by 1, so I ended up going into control panel, network and internet, change adapter settings, disabling local area connection and then starting my GTA V and then had to wait like 2 straight minutes (not too bad :D) until it timed out and let me do offline mode manually. After the game loaded in, I just re-enabled Local Area Connection and had Internet again and GTA V ! :D thanks for the guide. Maybe you post what I did as an edit saying this is an alternative if GTA V keeps updating nonetheless ?
