Ever thought of the irony that a game about crime and stealing is a lot more fun when you're playing as a cop doing good stuff? It gets me every time.

Haha! That is true. I'm surprised that Rockstar didn't realise this and officially create a 'LSPDFR'-like mod to start with.

But having said that, I don't think people play as a cop necessarily to do 'good stuff'. I think the general public (which includes most of the gamers here) always have an enduring childhood fascination of what cops do; the uniform, the weapons, the authority, the flashy lights of a patrol car, car chases, catching bad guys, etc. And given that the GTA world is the only realistic open-world simulation platform that allows itself to be modified for the gamer to play as a cop; that is, there is no other decent game out there where you can experience the graphic detail of doing cop stuff.

I think the same can almost be said about playing as a paramedic or fireman, or to a similar extent, playing games that simulate being a pilot, flying planes, trains, etc. I think people are more fascinated with what these people do, and GTA is a great platform to modify to experience the fun-side of those jobs. However, those of us which are in emergency services, I used to be a paramedic and now I'm a physician, turns out that only about 20% or less of your job is the glamorised fun, with most of it actually being quite mundane that leaves you filled with an element of cynicism.

And, I'm not sure I always do 'good stuff' when playing as a cop. Haha! When I'm a cop in GTA it seems to give me more abosolution to abuse the poor citizens of the GTA world, and exact swift justice to those who go against me.

I shot someone for cutting me off when it was there right of way ... :)

I cant get them past kneeling so I just shoot them in the head so they don't bug out...

I had the same bug, but i found a solution. When suspect is stuck at kneel animation you just need to push him on the ground. After that he will be able to play kneel animation just fine.

There's a problem there - half the time, when the suspect gets out half the AI cops try to arrest him, and half of them try to blow his brains out. The shooty cops usually win that contest, so I hope this bug gets fixed.

Oh... I see. In my case i was alone, so no one kiled him. If only AI cops could be automaticly switched in "Tasers Only" mode when they about to attack unarmed enemy...

And here is another bug of 0.1d. When i tried to arrest suspect he droped his weapon on the ground. But after a moment his gun magically appeared in his hands again.

So many people expecting far too much from a first release. This is just framework people, this is what G17 is going to build off of. It is in no way a finished mod.

Agreed. There's so much more coming. It's going to be insane. I'm just happy to be playing this right now. Regardless if it's mainly chasing people lol

If you have the latest version (d) then you don't have to manually load from the console. Start ragehook, game loads, head to the police station and play.

If anyone uses the console for spawning cars etc, i've found that hitting ~ key first to bring up the cheat box works better since some of the letter keys are bound to menu options.

We're delighted to announce the first public release of the LSPD First Response modification for Grand Theft Auto V on PC.

Implementing a basic framework for enforcing the law in San Andreas, LSPDFR includes a number of features such as arresting suspects, pulling over vehicles, full character and vehicle selection, basic callouts and hot pursuits. Also included in LSPDFR are a variety of police backup options, an interaction menu and various other features.  Be sure to study carefully the User Documentation provided with the modification, which explains the features LSPDFR offers.

You can download the first public release of LSPDFR here: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/7792-lspd-first-response/

you guys are doing a great job, played for 2 hours no crash ya !!!  whats next is going to be as great i am shure. thank

you again for a great mod

LSPDFR is absolutely amazing! The customisation of the police vehicles and police uniforms is such a good feature which I think you guys have done a great job of and the user interface (Interaction menu, backup menu...) is clean and simple which I like very much. Overall, you guys have done a great job for version 0.1 and I cannot wait for future versions!

Can't wait to play when I get home. Since people seem to be saying there is lack of stuff to do, I'll just do what I usually do, traffic stops  and profiling the lower class crime ridden communities. They are full of gang bangers and drug addicts. Just troll grove street. :) Can't wait to 10-8

Looks pretty fucking cool, but I just have one giga problem. The game loads and I can get to load as Cop and stuff, but none of the keybinds works. I've restored the default in Settings but it still does work, I cant do on duty so I cant pull guys over and stuff.

Anyone know why?
