Verenikin got a reaction from Bear8 in Please get rid of those impossible security questionsSeriously those things are pure bullshit.
Like the example in the screenshot. My attempt was apparently wrong. Well maybe then don't put a big fat line inside the letters then? The more advanced captcha (the one with "click all the traffic signs" or "all the cars) is equally dumb as apparently small parts of those items don't count. Why do they make them so bad?
Please consider removing them, at the very least for users who aren't new, if robot downloads are what you are fearing.
I am certainly getting sick and tired of trying up to 5 times before I get to download something, and often seek to download stuff on other websites if duplicates of certain mods are available.

Can confirm, I am pretty sure I've gotten them down to a letter and it's like "nope wrong"

Controller 100% Since you'll spend most of your time driving, it makes the most sense to have smoother, fine tuned driving. Playing on keyboard is more convenient for quickly hitting keybinds and what not, but I absolutely HATE that driving makes you look like a drunk mofo. Aside from that, if you've ever seen fivem roleplay videos, it is VERY easy to tell who uses keyboard because of said driving.
I've found a nice medium for using both KB and controller. Mostly all my keybinds are within reach of one hand, such as on the bottom of the keyboard. For example, CTRL S opens a menu, CTRL A opens another menu, etc. At the same time though, mouse is 10000% better for aiming your weapon, so both have their positives and negatives.

I'm sorry, I goofed and didn't include a link. You have it now thanks to someone else though. Lol

Verenikin reacted to Hisel in A list of what works and what doesn't with LSPDFR 0.4. Feel free to add.Disclaimer: I can't guarantee these will work universally across the board, but these are the plugins and callouts that I have working in my game personally. Remember to always make a backup. I am not liable for your broken game.
Keep in mind to remain grateful as this is a modification we are playing free of charge. We are literally just over 12 hours into 0.4's release, so time is needed for authors to make the proper adjustments to their mods for implementation from 0.3.
Also, please do not include any visual or audio modifications as these should be irrelevant to the version of LSPDFR being played.

Verenikin got a reaction from Darkmyre in [REL] Traffic Policer 6.9.1.0 (Speed Checker | Average & Radar |, Breathalyzer |Customisable alcohol limit|, DoorLock, Drugalyzer, Ambient events |Traffic Offences|, Traffic Callouts, Road Signs, Traffic Stop Assist |Mimic| & more)Wanna now a crazy thing that just happened?
Using your awesome plugins + some others, I was called to a drugrunners callout. I managed to cut them off in an intersection before they spotted me, and moved in to detain them with my gun drawn. As I got close enough for the plugin to trigger the fleeing mechanism, the guy appeared to fire a tazer at me (the sound was there, anyways). As soon as that happened I lost control over my character - I literally became an NPC. I could still control my view, I could call for backup units (which I did), but my Park Ranger woman decided that she was no longer taking any orders from me. She immediately went to her car, chased the suspect together with the other cops, and eventually she was the one who caused him to crash and went in for the arrest. During this time I could not do anything but look around (I couldn't exit/enter first person nor zoom out, only look in different directions). As soon as she cuffed the suspect and thus ended the chase, I regained full control as if nothing happened. I could then call for an officer to pick up the suspect.
Has anyone ever experienced this before? I sure have not, which is why I'm posting here as it happened in the exact moment I was supposed to be tazed by the suspect. I had my shotgun out and aiming at him at that moment.
Can't say I really minded though, it was hilarious!
Running latest ragehook+latest retail GTA, latest LSPDFR with following plugins/callouts:
Footpursuitaid,
VehicleSearch,
Arrest Manager,
Assorted Callouts,
Code 3 Callouts,
Panic Button,
Traffic Policer.
I should mention that as I was driving away, an officer that I called for with arrest mangaer arrived to pick up the suspect. As the officer got to the suspect and put him in walking position, LSPDFR crashed. Not sure if it's related.

Verenikin got a reaction from VooDoob in [FIXED]When adding certain cars they do not appear in OpenIVOh, thank you, I did not know this!
I attempted to spawn a locked model ingame, and it failed to load, so I assumed they didn't work. But now I tested it and they do infact work!
Thank you!

The lock feature that Oleg has released for Zmodeler3 (The program used to create such GTA 5 mods) disables the viewing of the model in OpenIV. The model should still work fine in game, you just can't view it in OpenIV

Verenikin reacted to Cyan in The archive is either in unknown format or damagedWell, there's no higher than usual load on our download servers, neither has there been in the last 48 hours -- there is more than enough capacity available.
I'm guessing there is a mixture of problems adding up. As far as I can see, it's mostly non-US traffic which is having difficulties. We are planning on adding another download server in Europe, so this probably will bring those plans forward.

Verenikin reacted to DLM3 in The archive is either in unknown format or damagedI don't see how it can be my browser... when 3 different browsers (Firefox, Chrome and IE) give pretty much the same result: impossible to download the files. Besides I know that there is an issue where some files are tagged as being malicious — I ran into this issue as well — but I know how to deal with this and still get the file despite the warning, I can see the difference between this and what is happening here, the fact that it is simply impossible to get a file, for instance Firefox does nothing at all after the security check, I don't even get a warning about the file being potentially dangerous.
I don't see how it can be my browser when many people are running into the same issue, with various browsers.
What do you think is more plausible? That the website has an issue with how it processes security checks and enables downloads or that we all are technically challenged and have no idea how to download a file?
-
Verenikin reacted to DLM3 in The archive is either in unknown format or damagedThe moderators will just tell you that this is your browser at fault, that there's nothing they can do and will just close the thread to keep the issue under the rug.
It is pretty obvious that there is lately an issue with downloads and this is not on our end. Example: yesterday I tried to download LSPDFR 0.2a with no chance, Firefox wasn't downloading anything and Chrome was downloading a file with a 0 byte size. The website started to be slow and all (DDoS attack?) and when it was available again then I had been able to download the file. Why would my browser refuse to download a file and then suddenly do it although I haven't changed a thing?
I am running in the same issue with another mod today: after doing the security check and hitting the Submit button Firefox does nothing while Chrome downloads an empty file.
And please stop telling me that this is my browser.

Verenikin reacted to CarbonRevenge in Install LSPDFR without RAGENo, the DirectX issue is related to Ragehook. It's not related to the machines itself that are using it. It's an isolated issue pertaining to how Ragehook works.
As I said, i'm glad for you but don't blame the user for a software issue unrelated to hardware if you don't understand how PCs work.
-
Verenikin reacted to CarbonRevenge in Install LSPDFR without RAGEDo the temporary fix for the time being to get the console to work like OP says.
May be a day or so till we have a fix.
I think you misunderstand the difference between a hardware issue and software issue. A hardware issue is related to the hardware configuration of the PC. The issue can be fixed by replacement of parts or finding compatible parts to fix the issue. A software issue is related to the coding and other conflicts that arise from the wide variety of software on many different PCs. Conflicts happen all the time causing a thing called bugs. Some are minor and some are major. This is a major bug as it makes a major feature of a piece of software virtually inaccessible to a good amount of users. Not to you. But a good amount
Also, you don't know what you're talking about for someone who studies IT.
