Ill-Gotten Gains Update and Modding

As evidented, we're quite capable of getting the RageHook back into working order. If I recall correctly, it took Sam and LMS 4 hours to fix the RageHook for the latest patch.

4 Hours? Good god, is that some kind of competition? :-D Who fixes it first ;-)

  • I love how everyone is so mad that Rockstar is releasing free content. If it was any other company, you would need a season pass or premium or whatever to get this content. I know those of you that do

  • It's not that bad, relax people. We're working on it.

  • Oh no, like every other massive corporation out there you mean?

A competition that is.

They're very good friends and they are of course working together. LMS and Alexander has been helping each other out. There's no drama, like in some other parts of GTA Modding :)

A patch could REALLY do some damage to mods, and might take much longer to get everything fixed.

So a patch to fix one problem will take longer to get around than the last "update"? Have you read the patch notes for the last update? https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/205705358-GTAV-Title-Update-1-27-Notes-PS4-Xbox-One-PS3-Xbox-360-PC-

4018 words.

Edit: Let me specify - 3144 words for FIXES (things generally included in a patch) and 834 words for NEW FEATURES/CONTENT (things included in what you call a "content update"). I also removed headings for this more specific word count, which is why it doesn't add up.

No one knows if a patch will come out and the damage it could cause. End of discussion

You were the one who started the discussion about a patch and that we should pretty much be vary of it :P

I didn't say it will happen, I said it might. Nobody knows what will happen, so there's no point in discussing it

A new patch will always have the chance of messing up things from before if they, or things they rely on, have been changed from what you have used as a base for a mod. It's good to know that so far there haven't been any insurmountable obstacles.

Of course there is a point in discussing it. If you didn't think it was worth it to be discussed, why did you bring it up to start with?

@The Loot: Yes indeed, sadly that is true. Although I am not too worried. LMS and Sam has shown time and time again they are more than capable!

I brought it up because it's a possibility that a patch could come out that could hurt mods. That's all that is known, since there are no other facts it's not worth discussing. Discussions never work without facts. Plus, it's getting off topic

It makes no sense from your point to start a discussion and then say there's no point in it. I'd say this topic can be used to discuss what ramifications this and future updates will have on LSPDFR and modding in general. This is only Part 1 of the next free GTA O DLC, there will be a part 2 I'd say.

Yep just another shitty update that delays LSPDFR's production and gives more shit for Sam and LMS to do. And Alex Blade can't forget about him.

Meh, I understand, 3 people (Most of the time) better than 2.

Dude are you really that mad that rockstar release a new patch and it messed up some pointless mods?

Rockstar Games are morons!  Modding doesn't hurt anyone.  I only see it growing there business by allowing mods?  Why can't they see that people want to play as police in GTA and not just the criminal?  It doesn't make any sense.

ineseri,

Could we please clean up what is going on with regard to LSPDFR threads/news on here? There are a lot of people like myself who come to the site once a day or so to find out official news and statements by Sam and the crew and right now there are 3 open threads in LSPD Updates & Information with people rambling on for pages about topics that have nothing to do with LSPDFR Updates & Information.

It makes it hard to find out what has transpired since the last visit.

Thanks!

It hurts them because it might stop people from shelling out for in-game cash, which really is the point of the way they run GTA Online. Mods in singleplayer getting hit is just collateral, but since they don't make money off of people playing it, it's not much of a concern.

Actually it make sense. It makes a lot of sense. Don't be so focused on GTA 5!

They intentionally don't add too much features to a game, so they can bring these missing features on a new title. That's a strategy. What would happen if they want to implement a feature which allows you to play as police in GTA 6 ?

The hype would be already broken by such mods. Maybe their own police-feature would be even worse than LSPDFR. Guess what would happen.

What you can also do, is 'follow' Sam and whoever you want and make it so that you receive an email each time he posts something. Then you don't have to go through all the BS before reading something that matters.
