  • Nice to see Rockstar serving justice on someone using a skin modification, but not on users killing everyone in the map with an invisible explosion.

  • None of the released scripthooks even work online! By using these modifications online, you'd need to use a modified version of the scripthooks. Entirely your fault if you get banned.

You won't be banned for single player mods, that was directly stated by Rockstar on their Newswire.

Mods in Online can and frequently will get you banned.

So will you get banned permanently or just temporarily?

I got banned for a skin mod for online at first it said 12 hours. Upon logging into singleplayer it's a 2 week ban.

Don't risk it that mod was only installed 3 days before I was banned.

I have numerous singleplayer mods installed. I have for about a month now and have had no problems whatsoever. Simply stay off of online and you should be fine.

I've been using mods in Online since the first trainer's come out, and I haven't been banned or warned once. Still, doesn't mean you should, it's your call. There's always the chance.

You must be doing something right, are you playing in public games with mods?

Yes. 3 different native trainers, riot mod, teleport menu, helicopter rappel mod, law enforcement improvements mod, and ped conversations mod, and an "online" scripthook which I can't link to you as it is not allowed on LCPDFR, nor most other modding websites. I've been reported multiple times by people who get mad because I used god mode to keep from being killed by their armoured Kurma drive-bys or false accusations of people who use the "kill all in lobby" hack and do it under another player's name, and have also recieved 3 million GTA$ in spawned money. (Not deposited of course)

Not once have I been warned by an official member of the Rockstar moderation team, or received a single ban.

Damnnn How Rockstar hasn't noticed you yet is beyond me.

They may have done, or Lund has been fortunate enough to not get flagged by the automatic system yet. I believe Rockstar uses a similar technique to the VAC system used by Steam.

That being that a ban is not immediate, and the first instance of cheating that get's flagged by the detection system causes an account monitor to initiate. You can be caught cheating and 2 months later receive a ban for the first instance of cheating, despite spending an entire 2 months doing it.

This is speculation by the way, I just happen to know they don't ban upon detection which would lead me to believe they monitor instead (or have a massive backlog of shit for their admins to go through).

My advice, if you value your online account don't even consider loading mods online. If you couldn't care less about your account, then don't bother going online at all, you obviously don't enjoy the online if you're willing to throw your account away by cheating so stay offline and don't ruin it for the rest of us :)

A few friends and I used to change our characters to the police model in GTA Online. Then we'd put on the invincible glitch with the Zentorno, that's now patched, and we'd run around with nightsticks and beat up other players. The amount of raging in the voice chat was hilarious. At one point someone actually spawned in tasers and like 6 people kept taking us. Good times though, back on the Xbox 360.

Thanks for ruining the online experience for me and most of all my Steamfriends who bought GTAV for the online experience and now decided to probably never touch it again because of the endless bunch of people who can't play nice & fair and have to absoluty destroy everything and everybody that's not too their liking. ''I killed you? Hold on, lemme turn om my godmode''

And the reasons why you cheat are even more sad. You cheat because of noobs, but in the meantime you are the big noob for using the cheats. Seriously? You spawn 3M$ because of some Kuruma noobs? You could also use the 3M to buy the Insurgent with gun and destroy every Kuruma you come across, but noooo, let's ruin gameplay for everybody.

In my opinion modding should only be allowed in offline or private sessions. In public sessions everybody should be banned for modding. Doesn't matter if only a few people do it, it's unfair on the people who don't use cheats and shit.

If it bothers me getting killed all the time I would work on me "surviving skills" rather than using mods.

Here we go, exactly what everyone else says. I always "ruin" the online experience no matter what I do. I don't think you understood me clearly, you obviously haven't seen the other 50% who go around with these trainers to kill everyone in the server multiple times with random explosions. Fun fun fun, especially when it's done under your own name on the server so they can frame you into getting banned. Oh man, I used god mode to protect myself against a complete douchebag who decides to lock me in a cage and spawn hookers with rain guns on me? Oh man, i must have really ruined your online experience by not wanting to be killed every 5 seconds over and over again. I have not had a single person who has attacked me who plays "nice and fair" to kill me multiple times while making my screen explode to where it's too blinding for me to even see my way down the road. I cheat because of "noobs" what now for some reason makes ME a "noob"? Oh grow up, that is the oldest fucking complaint I've ever heard in the book. Did I spawn 3million dollars because of them? No, no i didn't, I had the money spawned on me by some fella who expects me to deposit it into the "bank" so Rockstar detects a large amount of money at once so I can get auto banned for 2 weeks. I get killed repeatedly by people running around in their chrome armoured Kurmas so now i'm the asshole for enabling god mode for a minute so just to stop being trolled? Oh, let me just spend 3 million dollars on truck with a gun so I can do exactly what he's doing to "protect" myself when I can just teleport to another part of the map and be safe there. Now I still don't see how sitting by myself, minding my own business makes me ruin the gameplay for everyone else in the server. I seriously don't.

-snip-

I'm pretty sure hes not talking about someone defending themselves when they have trolls surrounding you, but instead that person trolling someone with constantly killing them with god mode making it more aggravating because that other person has god mode. Plus #privatelobbies. If you can't handle the other people in a lobby, go in a private one. There are people who do join games that don't want to troll or be trolled, and people having mods can ruin their experience, negative or not. Just my two cents.

lol off topic so you can play in singleplayer mode what about online and offline do u just have to sign in and u banned or actuly play in the online map?

As far as we know Rockstar validates game files when you launch the multiplayer, and thus anyone running modded files get's flagged at this point.

At everyone else, let's not start an argument about the actions of particular users. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and their choices. If you want to discuss the ethics of modding online that's fine, but don't call each other out on it.
