What features do you guys think LSPDFR will release with?

Arresting, pursuits, what kind of call outs? ID checks? Warrants?

I wonder if we'll see any new stuff that wasn't possible in LCPDFR

I like Shadow's attitude here. He's keeping the peace by moving the subject back to lspdfr...like a peace officer! Hmm...lol Good work, star recruit for the dangerous streets of Los Santos!

It's very difficult to remain patient when you're a big fan of something as ground breaking as lspdfr, but some of the above comments (I won't name names as I don't want to start a flame war) made me frown a bit. However, I would be a liar if I said I'm not also frustrated when it wasn't released this weekend, but we should all remember that the team is small and extremely underpaid for what they're accomplishing. Underpaid as in not paid at all. So I try to keep that in mind before I let my frustration get the better of me and I write something I know I'll soon regret.

With that being said, I quoted Shadow because I think this energy we have pent up inside is better spent on daydreaming what cool new features we're all soon going to be able to play with.

As shadow suggests, I feel that arresting is going to be mind blowing in a side-by-side comparison to lcpdfr, and we know arrests are the bread and butter, so we can expect those. The first video showed off the improved police AI in vehicle pursuits, so we can definitely expect traffic stops/pursuits at least on par with lcpdfr, but I suspect they will be 1,000 times better in lspdfr.

Features I'm praying are in this first release are definitely some sort of MDT or MDC (police computer in car) that will allow us to work with the general public and perform warrant checks/arrests. I'm pretty sure this will be in lspdfr. What I REALLY want to see in lspdfr are on-foot id checks and ticketing much like lcpdfr. This is, however, because I'm lazy and don't feel like walking back to my cruiser over and over when I have multiple suspects to ID check. However, if I can have lspdfr as soon as I feel I will, walking back and forth won't stifle my enthusiasm. Besides, it's a video game. Walking back and forth in a video game never hurt anyone. Except the extremely pale guy who should go outside and exercise (me)

I know we're going to have some really cool callouts by default, and I'm excited to see those and I hope they are a bit different from lcpdfr. I think in lspdfr there should definitely be more domestic calls and I think something really amazing would be some sort of way for the mod to detect day of the week and time of day in-game. Why? Imagine a Saturday night on patrol in Los Santos. Bar fights, drug deals, prostitution----Los Santos is based on Los Angeles. A gigantic american city. I live in a VERY small town in the US and Saturday night's see our own small town make Liberty City look tame. I can't fathom how insane a Saturday night must be in LA, let alone Los Santos.

I also hope to see more mundane police work intermixed with the action packed callouts featured in lcpdfr. Traffic redirection, Wellness Checks, Tourists needing directions, serving court appearance mandates (different from a warrant, usually for divorcees) vandalism. Trespassing, drunken disturbances, House robberies and of course all the minimart/gas stations sprinkled throughout Los Santos would probably see some attention from shoplifters/armed robbers.

Here's hoping my fellow officers. Are we prepared for the streets of Los Santos? I have a feeling I'm not, and I spent a lot of time on the beat in Liberty.

Guys... relax. I have faith in the team that LSPDFR will be released VERY soon, like this week. It's not like we're going to wait a month

That is left to be determined, after all we cannot know for sure as they do not give out hints on release dates. I was simply suggesting we all hop off the hype train and just give up on the dream of it being released very soon, so for some they can regain their sanity and not be as annoyed and so this way this makes whenever they do release it a much better thing. If we stop hyping over it, then even if it does take a long time it wouldn't be as bad. Engaging anti-hype mode....it helped me out when I was waiting for GTA V PC's release, now I must summon its might again for this intense wait for LSPDFR!

It's just annoying that is all.

Oh I completely understand, the wait is agonizingly painful. But I'm pretty sure the wait is almost over ;D

There was a pretty big hint on one of Sam's recent posts. There is no better time to go hype mode!

And that would be?

Let's all get back on track guys, let's speculate some more about what's going to be in the mod because that is obviously going to stop the hype.

I'd like to see responding to officers calling for backup be a callout.

Like if an officer has someone at gunpoint and needs assistance, or officer down calls once in a blue moon would be exciting too.

Also I'd love a mod to make the police lights brighter, the vanilla ones are good but if it's not midnight or darker then it's usually a little too hard to see

I agree, it'd be cool to be the backup for once. Granted, in LCPDFR you could be the backup for a pursuit, but that's all you really were backup for in LCPDFR. Anything else was a "handle it yourself and call us if you need help" kind of callout. But to be honest, it was never about callouts for me. I personally liked patrolling, especially with some mod that made crimes more common. And as for that light mod, there are several out there but I use this one: https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/improved-spotlight-and-led-lighting . Doesn't really matter which one you use though, those mods are generally all the same (Mostly)

At the risk of being off topic or violating some rule, here it is: http://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/50824-gta-online-next-update-coming/ . It's actually an important topic, I'm surprised it wasn't made a featured post

The timing is unfortunate because we've stated a few times we are releasing LSPDFR soon (the trailers say this). It's an annoyance to have to work around a new update while developing and waiting for a fix for the Scripthook. It's not that we were waiting to release the day the content update is released, it's just that we want to release is as soon as possible, but also at the most perfect time possible we can find. I'm surprised that was the post that launched the "LSPDFR is released soon" hype instead of the actual trailer that actually says... "Coming Soon".

Also, the LSPDFR development team is not Rockstar Games. They're not EA. They're not Bioware. They're not Bethesda. They're doing this for free. Because they have a passion for GTA V Modding and policing in GTA V. And yet there are those who are getting annoyed and impatient that we're not throwing out release after release? We do not have the resources  to be able to do such things. Sam and LMS are human beings, and I feel that I have to remind people of this from time to time. They have a life like you and me, and they need to tend to their life too, not just LSPDFR. I can assure you from several late nights in the TeamSpeak with both of them that they are the most dedicated developers on the planet right now, and it's sad to see the kind of level of disrespect seeding in some places on the forums and in PMs. Be patient, and your patience will be rewarded.

Well said. Love to the awesome Dev team and Moderators.

You say all this like we are demanding LSPDFR right now. We are not. We are excited, and if you don't like that then you can quite frankly get over it. Pretty much everyone here appreciates the team's hard work, so I don't know why you think we don't. I also don't see disrespect towards the developers ANYWHERE. Sure, people ask for release dates and whatnot. But nobody insults the team for not releasing LSPDFR at the speed of light. Majority of the members here absolutely love the team, since there is no reason not to. We are just hyped, and that hint on the other topic really stirred the pot. The trailer saying "coming soon" isn't helpful since nobody knows when "soon" is. But Sam's post kind of gave us a guess of the week that LSPDFR will be released, and with so much excitement already it really started to cause some major hype. Turning our hype into "disrespect towards the developers" is a complete lie and manipulation  of our posts. There is nothing wrong with excitement and hype, so everyone who wants the hype train to stop can get hit by said hype train

P.S. The update shouldn't hurt modding (Well, most mods anyways). The update will come in free dlc form. When the dlc is downloaded, it will make a folder in update/x64/dlcpacks . Within that folder will have the content that will add the new things to the game. That's it. Rockstar wouldn't make an update that would change some of the core components of GTA 5 like script handlers. That usually only happens in a patch, and in those updates they don't change much involving script so ScriptHooks would be able to be fixed within hours of it breaking. This update is pretty blown out of proportion

Will this screw up all of the mods that are located in update.rpf?

Will this screw up all of the mods that are located in update.rpf?

Shouldn't since dlc updates are located in update/x64/dlcpacks. The update.rpf is pretty much all the next gen stuff and PC components.

Hard to say. It shouldn't, since any other mods in update.rpf won't be touched by the new update. The update will only add the new folder, not edit any other ones

You should be reminding Sam and LMS of that as well...

-snip-

I believe he's referring to posts saying "this is getting old" and "this is annoying" because the mod wasn't released yet when they checked the site.

Indeed. That and people outside of LCPDFR.com forums. Twitter. Facebook, emails etc. There's a lot more going on, more than the visible stuff.
