A larger world is considered a game mechanic?

Well that is sort of an obvious example, but I thought there may be more concrete ones? Ie Is it possible to see robberies or crimes being commited inside?

Well cops can now deploy spike-strips. If that is the sort of game mechanics you are after. And also modding seem to be able to create some interseting stuff. Someone made "Real Police Offenses" that makes police chase you if you for example drive to fast past a speed-camera. So you could probalby use a speed-camera-gun thing and it would kinda work i guess.

  • A trailer showcasing animations doesn't make for very good viewing, especially not for a first reveal.  Was it a normal cop chase?  No, every entity involved in the pursuit except the player was spaw

I think the mod you are talking about just shows you a text if you drive too fast (for example) at some locations and if you keep doing it, it just gives you a wanted level.

This whole thing shouldn't really be an issue, obviously the majority will say GTA V is a far more superior game. Some people might say GTA IV was better, everyone has an opinion. Both games are different and GTA V has way more to offer than GTA IV.

Well this is the mod I was talking about and it seems that you are right. Haven't tested it cuz my computer is dead.

What?

Well, one of the biggest thing is the port. GTA 5's port is far better than GTA 4's. That allows for things like the RAGE plugin. Mods will be better than ever

GTA V isn't a port actually. That's one big difference compared to GTA IV.

Mod author here! It works by checking if there is a police vehicle nearby you while you are speeding or your vehicle is damaged, and if there is then it "just shows you a text" and "just gives you a wanted level" for now. But yeah you're right anyway :)

Also I'll provide the source code in the next update, if anyone is interested!

(Sorry for throwing it into this topic) "For now." Hm, are you able to let a nearby cop car drive closer to you and force you to stop using the megaphone? Maybe with one star only? Would be great because you mostly don't even notice if a cop car is nearby (because the game spawns them right around the corner if you get a wanted anyway) that's why it always seems like the mod only does these two things.

Well it's petty hard to make this working but I'll try for sure to make it as close as possible to this. I'm into GTA modding, and programming in general, for only 2 months (when the game got released), so I may need some help for that.. Nevermind, let's keep this area for on-topic LSPDFR not my mod lol. Thanks for the feedback anyway! :)

Man, it's going to feel like heaven when LSPDFR is released. Pray for the servers when that happens, I foresee website crashes

Well, if tomorrow or later I see that I can't load the website properly, it'll either be a problem with the server or.. you know :)

I'm really excited for this mod, I can see it'll be a huge step from GTAIV (which is already very good) with the time an love it'll get.

The same guy from GTAForums.

Agreed. I would kill to be a tester. Hell, I'd commit all the crimes in the world for another screenshot. *Wink wink* *Nudge nudge*. (Coodos if you get that reference)

P.S. Try clearing you browser cache for better loading times

the wait is horrible lol

Amen, so in the mean time, I am just playing other games lol!! Oh but all the arrests I am going to make. I sure hope there are going to be somewhat of a variety of call-outs in the release!!

hell, i would be happy with just arresting and iv style traffic stops for the first release lol

Me too. My need for arresting grows every minute. God knows how many innocent people will be behind bars the day of release. There's nothing I won't arrest, hell I'll even arrest a cat (I wonder if that would actually work)

LAME lo. Just kidding but seriously I bet every time Sam sees us complaining, he is probably like "another day added till release!" lol. Love you guys!!!!!

Ya know the one thing that has pre-occupied my mind whilst wondering when LSPDFR is going to be released? If I can change the skins on the police vehicles. There's nothing wrong with the Vapid Police Interceptor, but the Vapid Stainer Cruiser (Crown Vic) has the LSPD logo that says "Obey and Survive" which I dislike. I'm one of those strange individuals that wants a somewhat realistic police representation in the game, and so I want the LSPD officers to try to have a friendly and approachable appearance in public, much like most police forces in the world.

I always modified paintjobs in GTA IV because I hated the original LCPD badge that shows riot gear officers dragging a man away. I always used more realistic badges and such. Sadly, I never could paint from scratch. Normally I would tweak pre-existing paintjobs to my liking (of course never releasing them and only keeping them for personal use, since the work wasn't my own)

I just hope GTA V is as easy to modify paintjobs as GTA IV was. I also noticed that the Vapid Police Interceptor has it's unit numbers printed on the roof, which is a great touch, up until you release that there are 10 unit 32's in the same area. So I'd like to remove numbers and replace it with a simple printed "PATROL" on the roof.

I like the police vehicles in GTA V so much, that other than those tweaks I mentioned, I probably won't even have to download car mods or anything else. Just the LSPDFR mod itself. So excited, I hope the wait is nearing it's end!
