Grand Theft Auto V Release Dates (PC, PS4 & Xbox One)

I don't like it when people are upset about game delays. Would you rather have a buggy, unplayable mess instead? There's already enough of that crap going around most AAA games. Just look at Ubisoft's recent antics to get an idea of that. Don't even get me started on the heavy reliance on day one patching. Honestly, just be patient and suck it up. It's not like the PC version is cancelled. I'd rather wait a few months than to have a crappy port that is riddled with bugs like GTA IV.

I wish I could like this more than once.

Eh, it's probably going to be buggy and messy anyways.

And you've got proof of this? Rockstar has always been a hit or a miss when it comes to PC ports. GTA:SA was fine, and their most recent PC port, Max Payne 3, was stellar, from what I've been told. But then you have the crap along the likes of GTA IV and LA Noire. There isn't a consistent pattern when it comes to Rockstar and PC ports. GTA V can be awesome like MP3, or it can be awful like LA Noire...there's just simply no way to tell. We'll just have to wait and see, but to just dismiss it as it's "probably gonna be buggy anyways" at this point is unfair...and this is coming from someone who is usually pessimistic about this stuff as well.

It will get really the sh*t out of people when their favorite games' release date is cancelled. Rockstar always anticipates and gives a "temporary" release date to make their fans excited, then at the end, they will take back what they said. It would be better for Rockstar not to say a release date unless it is final and really ready for release, rather than saying it would be moved and asking for apology.

I agree, I would prefer game developers to not have release dates as well, but then you will have people begging for a release date. It's very much a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

What? People have a right to be upset. People pay very good money in exchange for these goods, as consumers they have should very well be upset. While I would also rather play a good game than a buggy game Rockstar gave their word (Which obviously doesn't mean much) that the game would be released a certain day. Additionally, they cancelled the release so close the date.

Pay what money? By pre-ordering? If the delay bothers you that much, then cancel the pre-order...that is a non issue. Your card probably wasn't even charged yet since most retailers don't charge until the game has shipped. I would be more pissed off if I actually paid $60 after the release for the PC version, only to find that it is a buggy mess.

But I'll humor you. Lets say you were actually charged $60 and you could not cancel it before the game ships. Well, guess what? That's the risk you take by paying for a product based solely on marketing hype alone and not knowing anything about the final result.

GTA:V is now on Steam!!   ----    http://store.steampowered.com/app/271590/

However, I would recommend you pre-order it from R* Warehouse, so that you can choose your Bonus game:   http://www.rockstarwarehouse.com/gtavpcdownload

No....... Wow! Not by preordering. I'm a regular customer of R* and spend money on their games. Companies should treat their customers correctly or it can seriously effect revenue. Your response was rather dense....

What really pisses me off is that they advertised multiplayer heists in the trailers. Fuck you Rockstar, you told me I'd get a game with heists where I can rob banks with my friends and I'm still waiting for that and it's been over a year. They should not have put that shit in the trailer, because they should have known it would take well over a year to actually get that shit into the game. Free DLC or something that would have been released after the initial game launch.

As far as the pushed release date goes, I'm annoyed by that as well. As someone has already said above, don't give us a release date unless you're absolutely sure that the game will be ready to play by that time. Otherwise, don't get me hyped up.

As excited I am for GTA V, this is, and always will be, my stance on preordering video games:

/snip/

Exactly the same here.

Tho GTA is the only exception, for me. Since I know I'll be buying the game anyway, might as well pre-order to get an extra bonus (game).

(Just my thoughts)

On the topic of pre-ordering...I only do so when there's a deal that I wouldn't want to miss out on, and I know I'll want to buy it on day one anyway. GreenManGaming has a 23% off voucher to use with the most anticipated games of 2015 (SAVE23-PEROFF-MOSANT valid until 4 PM UTC, Jan 23rd), so that's where I preordered. The problem though is that sometimes you don't get the preorder bonuses from GMG, but in this case you do. As soon as you order it you get the code for GTA SA.
