How can you call yourself a Christian and be happy to allow things like this to go on? Christianity is about loving everybody, no matter who they are or what their sexual preferences are. Since when did it involve discrimination and unequal rights? You make me sick

 

I do not prance around saying gay is wrong or condemning anyone who is. I love all people. as all Christians should. I'm not going to condone any sort of bullying, torture, or homosexuality. You don't have to like my opinion. I could care less. People who assume Christians

I will not participate in this debate because debating on this forum usually accomplishes nothing from past experiences, but I will say that you are not alone on what you've stated. Your opinion may not be favored, but that's irrelevant. You don't form an opinion for the sake of popularity.

So you're saying that if I am presented with something I disagree with, I should accept it and adopt it into my life? It's funny that you complain about them being close minded, yet you can't accept their beliefs either.

Signed, mostly as I can entirely sympathise and have personal connections to the topics discussed.

Also being transgendered isn't homosexuality, it is the non-compliance with typical gender roles. It is actually brought up in religion and Christianity (e.g. Jesus discussed the eunuchs -- which could be thought of as modern transgender people) and even in Islam (the Mukhannathun) -- none of them as far as I can tell had too negative views about them.

Although this thread has degenerated exactly how I thought it would. I sometimes think that we as a community are not mature enough for a politics board.

Just had to put the definition there anyways. I can't expect people to be smart on the internet, and they can't expect me to be smart. I provided the definition just in case :). It's night in the United States by the way, we don't share the same time as the UK.

He has no belief. He can't establish or explain anything about his own thoughts or opinions. It would be a different story if he gave a bit of information regarding where he stands on the matter.

 

To say, "I don't like something because I am Christian." is insane. Not to mention, this is an issue where everyone should be on the same page. It's about human decency. No human should be subjected to torture or "forced therapy" simply because of having non-heterosexual desires.

Well I wouldn't say that we aren't mature enough, I'd say that we can't seem to discuss a political issue without people getting defensive, close-minded, and angry at the fact that not everyone shares their opinion. This is especially true when it's a heated topic like homosexuality, gun ownership, or something along those lines. Though I do agree that the politics board is usually chaos, very entertaining chaos at that lol.
