I have decided that I am leaving IV modding for the same reasons as Yakadafi, not that I have been stolen from but it is a clearly visible threat in the future.

Today I discovered a serious breach of the .wft lock, much like people are able to do with GTA SA with the DFF unlocker except this involves a program I will not mention here, this was discovered when a certain person stole equipment from one of Yakadafi's locked models, this means that there is a apparent threat to any IV locked model.

I know I'm a fairly average modder, I mostly do South African Police mods but also a few US now and again, however I was working on the Bearcat, a huge project which many looked forward to, I worked endlessly modeling it and I will not have it being stolen by anyone, therefore the project is officially abbandoned and no release will be made, all other mods of mine will also be abbandoned.

I came into the IV modding community because models were safe and unstealable, having my hard worked on models stolen by some lazy person and theif claiming as their own is a path I'd rather choose not to tread, that being said the safety of our work is merely a saying in the past and I refuse to have my/or any other modder's hard work stolen.

I am not asking for sympathy by making this thread, so let it be known, I bid you all farewell.

God dammit! I was looking forward to the bearcat!

Another great modder lost. Good luck in whatever you decide to do next

Politics, EGO trippers, So called Modding "Gods" When they really just steal, This is why The GTA IV Modding community is dying a sad painfull death, Back in the day, We had mature, Well mannerd Modders to look up to, now we just have a bunch of 12 year old theives who couldn't edit a .ini if their lives depended on it, and yet their the "master of modeling", Its really a shame, That theese imature idiots were allowed to push people like You, Kevin, And people like yakadafi, out of such wonderous art of creating real life, into a finction, It really was art, Its again, A great shame, I don't expect it to be long before we see all the mature modders who actually WORKED for THEIR art to make it avalible (Without any conditions) To the people who mod their games, Kevin, Those who respected you're work, Will always respect you for your art, And will always enjoy it, Im sorry to hear that such stupidity has now created you to call one of your most favorite hobbies quits, I hope you enjoy your downtime however without having to worry about your art being stolen anymore, Thank you, For all your great mods and hard work,

JAM.

SIDE NOTE: Can we just stop this?, I mean really, For the sake of creativity and all that stands for good in this modding community, Can we just stop this Politics, and the theft?, I fear if we don't, we will never get people back like kevin and yakadafi, and that the modding commuinity will soon be dead.

I'll talk with Kevin. It's closed for now.

Oh and also, JAM stated my opinion on the topic. Let me just add, that quitting is the wrong way to go about this. A better way, imo, is to do what Yakadafi did, for example. You have keep on going and uncovering their stealing (like he did with his Alec Durbin video). If I could, I would show you the statistics of how many GPM uses migrated here after that came public, it isn't little, you can see various people that originally came from GPM here now. With every mod they steal, that gets uncovered, they lose support. Oh and btw, try this: just let GPM and LCPDFR alone for a few day and then click on the "New Content" button, you will see that this community has overtaken GPM in activity and active user numbers long time ago.

Just adding my two cents here before everyone stops paying attention to this thread: Have you considered releasing a YouTube video with each mod you make, therefore proving that it is your own? The date of the video upload is indisputable. That's how I'd go about it, personally.

Re-opened. He's staying.

Splendid.

Someone keep him talking while I nail his feet to the floor. On a serious note happy that he took the time to reconsider.

Welcome back. I hope you take my advice about the YouTube video thing too. It will get you a lot of views, also.

Well, i'm going to put my input in, i do agree he does make great mod's indeed, i myself personally don't think i could EVER take credit for the work of other modder's, i pretty much only make texture's BUT i don't want someone to try and claim it as their own as i do work hard on them as does everyone else, maybe in the future for GTAV modding someone will make a better program that someone cannot edit/steal locked model's also would be virtually impossible, there's alway's that possibility, as for all the mature modder's keep on keepin on ;)

Welcome back :)

No chance, Zmodeler's lock was supposed to be Fort Knox. Everything is crackable given enough time, the only thing that prevents someone steeling someone else's work is common decency.
