  • Just to let everyone know, we will be working on this as a team, all of us, after the release of 0.95, which won't be too far away.

  • The possibilities offered by this are only really restricted in terms of how much I can code in. Basically, you have a system where you are just drawing lights at a position within the game, so the t

really? r u sure of that. have u tested it before because in my mind it seems pretty logical

^^ That's one of the best parts about coding with SHDN. Not only can you change INIs, you can actually edit code, rebuild, overwrite the old DLL with the new one in your scripts folder, and load the new version...without having to exit and restart IV.

No problem, just minimize the game and then edit the .ini and save it. Now open GTA again and open the console with ' or ` and type "reloadscripts". It'll now reload all mods and also your new settings.

Thanks for telling Tom.

I had a feeling that I was forgetting something for long time but didn't have the idea what exactly it was. This is it.

Can't wait for this to come out! I'd rather map positions manually for the lights than to have the game consistently crash on me anyday. Since most of the players I know who mod their games will probably be using CVPIs and Chargers, we can share optimal settings with each other for different vehicles and lightbars and hopefully that will speed things up when trying to go from ELS to the Illumination mod.

Hopefully, this mod, Lil-rich's Indicator Script, Sniper296's Spotlight Mod, and LCPD:FR 0.95 Final will all be compatible with the most stable version of GTA IV (patch 1.0.4.0)! I'm looking forward to these mods and this compatability because of the problems with ELS and the super unstable patch 1.0.7.0. Keep up the great work, guys!

I know that Sam is currently working, or planning on doing a few side projects after 0.95, so don't expect it to be out a couple of weeks after 0.95, it'll take the time it needs.

That's mighty fine. I'd rather have him take the time to make a near-perfect and well refined mod over quickly releasing a poorly made one anyday! ;) I'm waiting patiently for these fine mods to come out!

Unlikely. All the people you mentioned use 1.0.7.0 or EFLC 1.1.2.0, and it is really hard to get something to work on a version of the game you don't have.

Well, I still can hope for it, and Jay told me that with enough demand, there's a possibility that it would happen (e.g. downgrading their games). Even if they won't work for 1.0.4.0, I can still use them on my other computer that has the game running on 1.0.7.0. I just prefer 1.0.4.0 because it is much more stable (crashes way less than 1.0.7.0 does) and gives me 80+ FPS all the time, whereas 1.0.7.0 gives me only 50 FPS at most. So I would think that mods should be made to work on the best patch, which doesn't always mean the latest patch (especially in this case). This isn't just true for me; lots of people I have helped out before informed me that 1.0.4.0 has improved their performance significantly over 1.0.7.0.
