I happen to like the new Explorer's look.  Just imagine everything blacked out, and with steelies, and you get the 2016 FPIU.  Pretty mean if you ask me.

GTAV | LSPDFR 0.4.8 | ELS | NaturalVision Remastered/ENB/ReShade

I feel that the police package version will look better. On some cars chrome accents look good, this is not one of them.

Cheers.

Is it company policy to ruin cars? (I kind if like this look, but talking 'bout the new Charger *Throws up*)

Just curious, does anyone know what officers/deputies thinks about the new Caprice? I really love it :)

I don't know, but the caprices are nice, my PD has brand new 2014 ones :P

Like... What the fuck happened? They ruined a perfectly nice model design and just fucked it to the point where it can never be fixed. Don't really seeing the new model used as a police vehicle, lol.

To be honest, I actually like the back even though it's not that different. Although, it would be nice if the sides of the tail lights didn't stick out 20 feet.

Ahahah, the size of that. Its like a godamn tank.

Wut M8, U Mad? We got tanks and you don't? lol

Is it like 5 seats up front, 7 in the back and about a family of 20 in the trunk>

Yeah but note, the Police Interceptor version is better, just what!

We have tanks. For the miliary. For the roads we use more convenient cars, that actually makes sense to own.

You guys don't have people running around with AR-15 do ya?

No we do not have that, thank god that we live in a civilized country :) Let's keep on topic from now on.

lol okay.

Well companies typically change the styling every 3-4 model years. This Explorer reminds me of a Jeep at first glance.

Wow, if you're telling the truth (or the cop isn't exaggerating for that matter) that's just outright laughable. Kind of hard to believe... but damn... that's pretty bad.

I'm not exaggerating, I have no reason to, don't get me wrong, I love the Ford Taurus & how it looks, but unless they make some drastic changes to the model it will never be as tough as the CVPI, most of their Taurus Units are at the very least on their seconds transmissions & have had at least 1 engine swap, the towing company I work for has the Halifax Regional Police & RCMP towing contracts for towing rotation & we tow their vehicles when they break down, it's cool towing Police Vehicles but not cool for them because it happens so often & it's generally big things like an engine problem.

I think the important thing to remember here is that the police market probably isn't their first and foremost market.  Ford caters to regular Joe customers first. There is a need to stay ahead, with thousands of customers out there Ford wants to reel in as many as they can. If for some reason building police cars wasn't profitable anymore, you better bet Ford/Chevy/Dodge would abandon it for more profitable waters.

As much as we all loved the Crown Victoria, with newer offerings coming from Chevy and Dodge the CVPI wasn't the better choice anymore for departments and sparked the new Taurus.

New emissions standards are probably the reason for retiring old engines, alongside ever changing customer demands.

As for the new Explorer, I like it better than its 2011-2015 counterpart. Just looks better in my opinion.

But advertising their cars seems to be a huge thing but the average joe doesn't know anything about a Police Vehicle, most people think they come from the factory built like that & they're just snap on parts that cost $200,000.... I'm not at all really a Chev fan but the Caprice from what I've read would have been the best choice for Police use, couple HRP Officers say that they would have like them more since they are both V8 & RWD & fast as hell & very reliable, FPI's from what the cop told me the Taurus was just as bad on fuel as the Crown Vic since it's AWD all the time & they're cramped inside, every cop I've spoken too says the don't want to retire the Crown Vic but will probably see them around until at least 2020 since they bought so many of them.

Some places don't do emissions tests, they are not required bylaw in some places.

Sure, except that it's very useful and has many advantages over a little car. A two-door isn't going to go through heavy snow. Where I live, people own trucks and SUV's so they can travel in bad conditions.

For trucks, some people need to make hauls to the dump. Maybe they make a living doing home improvement, and need a truck to do that line of work? Some people may own boats or trailers, and they need a vehicle capable of towing it. Again, a little compact Swedish car isn't going to do that. Some people like to go offroading, and again, you can't do that in a tiny car.

No offense, but I'm not a fan of Swedish vehicles either. I actually they're too small to have any practical use. No trunk space and no practical use other than going to work and back. While our "oversized" vehicles can do that, and everything else, while only suffering MPG numbers. Plus us "dumb Americans" invented cylinder deactivation that your vehicles copied. SUV's and trucks can get respectable numbers with this technology, while being versatile all-around.

I'm sorry, but the "hey, let's make fun of America" jokes are getting a bit old here. This is just my honest opinion, backed up with some facts.
