I say that homosexuality is wrong, but I don't believe that my views and opinions should be forced on the public. I'm a Christian and according to what I believe in, being gay is wrong. Don't try to c

However, it would be great if we didn't call it marriage. Marriage is histroically defined as a union between a male and a female. I don't believe in redefining words.

I'm not an american citizen, but I live in France and we legalized gay marriage at the beginning of the year, so I've been through this. I don't mind at all, I consider that two people loving each other should be free to be together officially regarding in the eyes of the law (my judgement is probably biased by the fact that I'm bisexual, but my statement is still pretty much true).

I Couldn't have said it any better than this and i can't be biased because im straight lol

When maryland Legalized Gay marriage i was pretty happy about it I Believe that Two of the Same gender that Love each other that want to get married for Various Reasons Should be able to.. them Getting Married doesn't Hurt anyone.. All it Does is extremely Bother Some people which that their own problem everyone should be able to marry who they want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone scam anyone etc

Honestly i think the Reason im so for it is in spite of all the People who are so against it.. I Get the Whole Religious Part of it but Times change and Marriage isn't exactly as Religious as it used to be. there is more to it than just being together in the eyes of god or whatever it is (Sorry not religious as you can tell lol)

And people who don't like it because they don't like seeing 2 Men or 2 Women together.. seriously grow up.. they're People just like us

May I ask why someone is ignorant for not believing in gay marriage? Just curious.

If you don't agree with "redefining words" would you agree with giving them all the same benefits that heterosexual couples have? Because gay couples argue for marriage because they don't get the same benefits as married couples have in many states, especially when it comes to finances.

I support it, People deserve to marry the one they love, no matter what what race, gender or sexuality. we cant chose who we are attracted too.

Definitely. We in the UK had "civil partnerships" that gave the exact same rights (tax, legal, etc) as marriage.

Hey if their happy together and have a good life, then that's all that really matters.

A little irrelevant: today in my class a student called another girl cute and he asked her was she gay, she said yes and then the boy thought she wanse't cute anymore. Seriously?

He found her booty cute, I think. And since he couldn't get it anymore since she was gay, he was butthurt :P

Its sad but around 7/10  their interest in someone is on sexually outcome, and since she told him she was gay (not sure if she was telling the truth or not) the guy most likely lost the interest in her due to no possible sexually outcome.

While these states made gay marriage legal, the US Supreme Court just rejected gay marriage.

I don't believe that gay marriage is morally right, but I do believe that people should have the right to marry whoever they please. Why do I care that a man wants to marry another man? How does that effect my life? I could care less, just don't think that you deserve special treatment because of it. Gays march down the street for gay pride, and it's a great thing. But I'm sure if people marched for Straight pride, it would be considered discrimination.

Kinda sounds like segregation... separate but equal??? That didn't quite work out now did it....

I'm gay and of course i support gay marriage, and i think that's what it should be called marriage, because that's what it is.  Maybe historically marriage has been between a man and woman but things change and we realize the error of our ways. Black people used to be slaves and second class citizens and today they are almost equal to every other race.

The very idea of calling my marriage a civil union or whatever the hell you wish to call it anything but a marriage  just makes me feel like less of a person and makes my marriage feel less important. And that's not what we should strive for we should strive for equality for all no matter your race or sexuality....

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however, does a gay couple effect your daily life?

Me being an African-American myself, I consider myself equal to any other ethnicity, race, nationality, whatever the hell you want to call it.

Historically marriage has been a unification between a man and a woman. Now while I don't believe that being gay is right, I do agree that gays should have the right to marriage, as I've said before.

I didn't mean it like that, african americans and minorities are not treated the same as white people and that's disappointing in this day and age..

Now im confused, you say that homosexuality is  immoral or wrong in your eyes but you support our right to marry???

Better yet what is your issue with homosexuality??

-snip- Now while I don't believe that being gay is right -snip-

Now, that's really an expression I dislike and despise, mostly because there's no such thing as right or wrong when it comes to tastes and orientations. After all, you won't say that someone not liking pizza or chocolate is wrong just because you do like pizza and chocolate, right? Or you wouldn't say that someone enjoying metal or electro is wrong just because you enjoy one or the other? So there's no logical reason to apply it to sexual orientation. That's the exact same scheme, a succession of chemical and psychological events leading into what someone likes, and what someone dislikes. Some don't like mint, some don't like breasts. There's no reason to put right and wrong into this situation.
