@Troy: You just do your job, there's always some risk, like when you're in shootout with 6 or 7 individuals (LCPD:FR native call) :P. The chance to explode is set now to several percent. You had the possibility to test that feature too often. The problem lies in balance which will be improved thanks to your comments and opinions.

 

@C.O. N.Y.: do you use LCPD:FR 1.0c? It won't run on another version. You can also include a part of LCPDFR.log where there should be some information about a cause of that error.

Okay, I've played for a while:

 

 

1. Burglary in the past - take a report and look for a suspect. And better monitor your radio...

2. A car on fire - you can't expect from cars in Bohan to be in perfect condition. When FD is busy (in South Bohan: always) you got to back them up with some easier jobs.
3. A car is being stripped - it might be stolen so be there ASAP before they dismantle it to atoms. Make sure you don't spook the "mechanics"!
4. Sale of narcotics - don't spook him with your siren so you won't have to chase him through the whole neighborhood.
5. Homeless people harassing LTA passengers - just askin' for a dime, huh? You can't expect nothing good from them.
6. EMS is requesting assistance - be there before that goof hurt someone!
7. Gang-related assault - you better call some assistance first...
8. A mugging victim calls for help - everyday crime in Bohan. Go and help a complainant.
9. Prisoner transport - an ordinary job of a patrolman.
10. Assist patrolman with a "man with a gun" call - respond on a request of your fellow Officers. You got to be there when hell break loose.

@C.O. N.Y.: did you try to run it more than once? Are you sure that the error is caused ONLY when my *.dll is in the plugin folder? To understand where the problem is you should paste LCPDFR.log (actually the last part).

It appears to failure only in case of some spawn points so you can wait for another chance to check it out. I'd be grateful if you could describe what kind of error you got in from GangAssault call.

 

About that log: the error was caused by LCPD:FR, look at this line: Error while processing script: AmbientScenarioManager. ASM handles all that ambient evens like a drunk pedestrian, hand-to-hand drug sale etc.You might want to report it in the proper section of LCPDFR possible bug reports.

Yep, it uses API so it doesn't collide with LukeD's and Wouter's callouts.

@Sgt.Kanyo: as I posted in Download section: they are multi-scenarios. One time homeless just hanging around and talkin', another they will act aggressive etc. It depends on 1) random number which determine a scenario, 2) current day time, 3) location of the spawn point. A car on fire: you just missed a help box with instruction - that's what @Adm did good and got a rare scenario of this call  :teehee:

 

Calls set themselves as finished automatically or you can also use [End] to force-end them in any time. It's useful in some cases when eg. canvassing the area is not giving any result.

 

To see how it actually works you need to try it a couple of times. I wanted to avoid a "Rambo" mod when every call leads to a massive shootout with at least 50 policemen.

 

Oh nice. Yeah I don't like only shootouts. I like to keep it as realistic as I can. So basically I just go near the car's hood and I'll get a message saying press "whatever key you assigned here" to get disconnect the battery? Because I was near the hood, but I didn't get anything.

Well...... I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Played with it for about an hour and a half. I crashed the second I left Bohan, but I'm not sure if that was LCPDFR or the plugin. But damn it I love this so much more than any of the other callout mods. So is this where the mod stops, or are you continuing to add things to this?

I'm happy to read that you like it!  :biggrin:  I'll investigate the issue you described since my script checks player's location = it might be connected. Report with a log excerpt, please, if it repeats in the future because that would be easy to fix.

 

Yes, I've a lot of ideas to implement and I really want to fill Bohan with reality of the old South Bronx. I'll be posting a historical background to my pack as soon as I collect everything I want to show you. It's necessary to make y'all feel the beat of that place  :cool:

Just to clarify, for all the folks that are having problems, I'm playing on a copy with modified EMS vehicles, added cars, modded weapons, modded peds, Countryside mountains map, a heavy ENB and an HD road, roadside and vegetation textures pack and everything works smooth as butter. I have gotten ALL callouts (granted the prisoner transport one is VERY rare) and they are all working fine except the car on fire callout which almost always leads to an unexpected explosion which crashes my game (PS: its the explosion which crashes the game, not the script).

 

Also, thanks a lot for the script LtFlash. Very ambient. My favorite's gotta be #1, #6, #9 and #10. Hope you script these for other islands too.

@C.O. N.Y.: ok, now we can do something. You need to back up the SlimDX.dll file located in your GTA IV directory (eg. copy it to the Documents folder) and unpack the *.rar I included to the GTA IV folder. After replacement try to run your game and report back, please.

Very nice addition to LCPDFR, but I don't understand two of the callouts:

Homeless people harassing LTA passengers: Can't find any people causing trouble.

Assist patrolman with a "man with a gun" call: When I arrive, I see a police car with 2 cops closeby and getting in. There's no suspect or something.

I didn't get every callout so far, trying them out soon.

Did a patrol with it yesterday, tried the mod out. At one point I was confused what the "D0" key meant, later on in the video I realized it was the numeric "0" key next to the "+" and "-" keys near backspace. I think it would be helpful if this information was included in the readme, as well as the console command as some people want to read what does what before they put the mod in their game.

 

LCPDFR 1.0c with The Wasteland Mod:

 

It's a bit buggy here and there but it has potential. Some of the callouts are infrequent, though, despite I lowered the callout wait period to under 2 minutes.

 

I might give it another go, though, as it's worth it with the amount of work put into this fantastic plugin!  :thumbsup:

Now I see what the most important issue is: I left you guys without a proper tutorial/help file and the can seem complicated, eg. the mugging victim call: you was supposed to enter the car and a complainant would follow you and take a free seat. I'll post a proper description of everything so you won't get confused next time. Sorry for inconvenience, I'm a lil' bit busy and didn't have a free time to prepare it.

 

@ [D0] - Wouter's calls uses it so I believed you guys will know what it is about.
