Agent? Is that some fed guy? If that's so I'd love to know what fed agency has a uniform like that, never saw it before!

Judging by the patch in the arm I suppose it's just a higher rank of the Pasadena PD (check the third picture, there's a closer view).

Back to ambos.. Did you know that till the mid-sixties in the States main first respondents were hearse drivers? I didn't, for example. I don't mean hearse-styled ambulances, I mean an ordinary hearse fitted with a beacon and some markings, and a vic had to lie where a coffin would normally rest. A terrible experience if you ask me. It reminds me of an old and black Russian medics' joke:

- Hey doc, where are you driving me?

- To the morgue, sir.

- But I'm not dead yet!

- We haven't arrived yet, sir.

Those who arrived first at the scene took bodies and profits while latecomers had to drive victims to a hospital.

Hearses sometime lacked the necessary equipment  and even the space for an IV bag, and a driver had to drive holding a bad through an open window.

Prepare....I was at the Portland Auto Show, and the PPB was there. Here are some pics I took!

The PPB brought their 1969 Plymouth Belvedere, A Cadillac Ambulance and a Mack Firetruck. Does anyone know of the device that's on the Belvedere's dash? And look at that radar unit on the window!

Lightbar was made in state by a company called Cheetah. Never heard of them though.

Caution, ton of pics incoming!!

Ringo, you've outdone yourself this time, which is something because you normally outdo yourself on a regular basis in this thread, xD.  I cannot capture the beauty of those three, the Belvedere, Cadillac Ambulance, and Mack Firetruck, in words.

I can't imagine how it had to feel to be moved to the hospital in a hearse; hey, sorry if I bother you guys but... I am positive I am still alive!

I think it's funny that Connecticut rolls "kinda" unmarked. As in that there's no markings on the car other than the plate and the lightbar. Interesting. Anyone know why?

All I know is that Connecticut troopers use that scheme till now, just but some lights and a "state police" plate on the front or rear. Guess they save a lot of money on painting. Also guess impersonation cops in this state is as easy as can be.
