A zombie Apocalypse isn't going to happen. If anything were to wipe us out it'd be our own stupidity... oh and nukes, lots and lots of nukes.

  • Down here in Alabama, where I live, I'd say yeah. We could just run em' over with our trucks and shoot em with our guns ;)

If zombies eat brains, that means that Washington DC is the safest place!

Everyone in the south good until their 6MPG lifted trucks need refueling and their AR's need more ammo.

Once that happens will be the time to get out the popcorn and see who really survives. I am more for an ostrich approach:

lol.Ar 15 ammo wouldn't be a problem. Where i live the PD's and such are close together and we have a airbase 25 miles from us (Fort Polk). Handgun ammo would be easy to come by as well. (.40 cal, 9mm) Just pick it up off the dead cops lol.

Hey, OP, are you sure those soldiers on military bases wouldn't turn zombies themselves? You'll meet armed zombies in body armor :P

haha

My city only has 5 people in it, so no. I happen to be the governor :)

But it's not likely, unless everyone in the world takes bath salts..........

5 people?

Yes, I live in Israel, I'm in the Israel Defense Force, plus most civilians have served and are currently armed so I would say we would survive.

I mean oh boy does Israel have a bunch of armed units. Without hijacking this thread into Israel politics, the IDF has over 176,500 active personnel and 445,000 reserve officers, in a state with about 8 million people.

So you're saying that you are Ohio Governer John Kasich? =|

Can you put some pressure on the federal government to tell the FCC to piss off and leave internet bandwidth alone, if that's the case?

I probably wouldn't live, I live on the outskirts in a suburb of a city already riddled with violence. However Westover Air Reserve Base is nearby, which during World War II was the largest military installation in the North Eastern USA. It was built with the infrastructure for atomic weapons which it housed, bombers, internal oil ect. However with budget cuts, today it only houses part time F-15s and 12 C5's. :(

I don't think either a military instrallation, city, hospital, suberbs or anywhere populated would protect you. Someone like Reibu, isolated on an island, in a rural section with plentiful food seems like one of the best areas to hold out. If there's active fighting with zombies and/or people on a daily basis, you've already lost.

Like I said, it'd be our own stupidity.

Don't forget selfishness.

My area would be destroyed. I live in a city that's really populated, & in my country we aren't allowed to carry firearms (as far as I know).

I do live close to the sea & a fishing port (turned shopping mall & fish market) is about a 30 minute drive from where I live.

There's also the fact that I've got deserts surrounding my county with the sea on one side.

Whether I would survive or not would be based on Luck I guess.

I already can't run/walk for a long time & I kind of suck in fighting (I believe I've got decent strength tho, probably not :P  ), & I would have no idea where to go if a Zombie apocalypse strikes.

Consider the poor zombie. It lacks every single advantage that has kept humanity from being eaten to extinction. It wanders around in the open, it can't use weapons, it can't think or use strategy. It doesn't even have the sense of self preservation to run and hide when it's in danger. And, it's made entirely out of food. It's easy prey for any animal that wants it. Insects are a major pain in the ass for actual living humans and having an immune system is the only thing keeping us from having our eyes and tongues eaten out by maggots. Zombies in any part of the world with a fly problem are going to be swarming with maggots in short order, meaning that most of their soft tissues will be infested, and their eyes will be very quickly useless. I don't know if zombies even use their eyes, but there's that.

In Sweden alone, we have bears and wolves, all of which can put down a human if needed. A walking corpse doesn't really have that much to defend itself with

Now, imagine zombie hordes wandering Australia. The zombies would be boned in a matter of days.

Also, me who has been working at a church and handled corpses know that corpses do not handle heat, or too much cold very well. They simply rot, or fall apart. Dead bodies bloat because of the gases created by bacteria. That means that they'll turn fat and simply fall over and later apart.

+ Zombies, doesn't heal either. They just degenerate over time. One advantage to having a fully-functioning central nervous system is that it also does a good job of letting you know you've been damaged. It does this by way of transmitting pain. Well, imagine if you didn't have that. Imagine walking around with a lot of open wounds, collecting bacteria etc.

And then we have the area where I live. I live in an apartment concrete block. Reinforced doors, double glass etc. You really can't penentrate that. And as mentioned, we have weapons. Most countries have weapons, and we do not have to go close-up for an attack like the zombie does.

A zombie isn't always a living corpse. Maybe like a pathogen will infect a person and controls only the nervous system, and the person is still alive and act like cannibalism? Like in the game "The Last of Us", the infected person dies after days/weeks without food, or because of the disease. Zombies like this are living people but they are just out of control, and are very aggressive like a human, and can run, destroy things, etc. So we are all dead when this happens!

Where I live we would definitely survive, because all zombie outbreaks seem to only happen in America :).

On a less movie drama note. I don't want my area to survive an outbreak. It's full of the most miserable people in the UK and that is an official statistic done via a consensus. The UK would probably benefit if my area was destroyed by zombies.

Brain eating zombies as depicted in films will never happen though. However "zombies" could actually happen. There is such a parasite that infects it's host and takes control causing the host to perform very strange actions. It's been exhibited in ants and other such insects/disgusting 8 legged creatures of death (I dislike spiders, have you noticed?)

I don't think that parasite has adapted to humans though, so yeah zombies are not a thing. Sorry.

The UK would be completely screwed lol, no guns. MURRICA'

We have loads of guns and military bases. Guns just aren't publicly allowed.

Also we would only be screwed if the assumed zombie outbreak could travel overseas in which case our navy would fuck everything up within a radius. :)
