So what if GTA V doesn't allow mods?

Featured Replies

I've been thinking about this..with all of the security and patching that has gone into GTA V, where Rockstar is literally releasing patches for mods/hacks/exploits etc. days/weeks after they are discovered, what if GTA V does not support modifications? Can they allow mods such as LCPDFR without compromising the online portion of the game. They have really cracked down on their control of GTA V and the game's security, whereas with GTA IV, they just released it, made a few patches to fix (or try to fix) some bugs, and that was it.

let me say it like this. I don't think they will allow mods, but so far i play as a cop in online and i don't get a wanted level.

  • If it doesn't allow mods, it doesn't allow mods. Deal with it. ;)   Although on the PC it's much easier to mod files, and a mod like LCPDFR will, obviously looking at the console version, only be pl

If I helped, I would appreciate you pressing the green arrow to the right of your screen!

If Rockstar doesn't allow mods, people will initially try to get around it. They may or may not be successful; however, it's really, really, really hard to stop people doing it for long (for starters, the game will be a priority target for crackers. If Rockstar makes it such a pain that no one can work out how to effectively mod it, then it won't be modded.

In all honesty, I don't want mods for GTA V. Especially for GTAO.

Not interested in LCPDFR on GTAV? GTAonline they can keep as it is, mods wont be available for that on the public servers. But LCPDFR on solo is a musthave for me.

I mean, single player mods, I don't mind i guess. but yeah, GTAO, I want to be left alone lol.

Veni vidi vici

Would be a shame if they do not allow mods, but like others previously said, modders will eventually get around whatever it is preventing the game from being modified.

I don't think they will work too hard to disallow single player mods, they will be focusing on making sure multiplayer stays fair though. I don't know what they will do, but I'm sure the modding community will find a way to make it work.

If a trainer was made in this GTA V PS3, which consoles shouldn't and hard to be modded, then I think we could also crack and mod GTA V PC easier for sure!

That's why I might wait a little bit to buy the game just to make sure it can be moddable (someone will find out eventually). Then I will go out and buy it!

Then i would be one sad PC gamer.

I 100% agree. GTAO would be CHAOTIC with mods, it would be horrible.
