Whats the Law

Featured Replies

If the legal age of consent is 16, how are you allowed to have sexual contact at 14....?

It's a close in age exception that the government of Canada has. http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/other-autre/clp/faq.html

A 12 year old can have sex with a 12, 13, 14 year old. A 14, 15 year old can have sex with a 14,15,16,17,18,19 year old. 16 can have sex with 16+ as well as 14, 15.

It's complicated.

Well, after reading that I can strongly say that Canada is one wacky place.

It's too complicated to even bother to understand.

I'll stick to my traditional British ways, if you're 16+ that's legal, under, illegal :)

Sorry for going off topic from original post.

Can someone tell me what the Law is for if 2 people want to go out but one of them is 16 and the other is 18.

I can't remember which Law that covers that.

Depends on the state. Technically there's nothing preventing you two from spending time together, but if the parents of the underage party want to press charges on the older party for 'Deprivation of Custody', they can do so. If there is intercourse, it's most likely considered 'Statutory Rape' unless the state permits it under parental consent, and both of your parents actually do consent to it. If you're the older one, I'd forget it. If you're the younger one, it's up to her whether she wants to risk it or not.

Well, it's more to protect young kids from prosecution if they are just being sexually curious. It's better to have a law allowing it rather than to slap a kid with a sex charge.

Yeah, there's a lot of kids here who have their life ruined before it even starts.

Hahah. No man. this is a another girl

Are you trying to challenge Barney Stinson to an International pick-up duel?

On a serious note, depends on where in Australia you live,

For the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Victoria, & Western Australia, age of consent is 16 years.

For Tasmania & South Australia, age of consent is 17 years.

Only Queensland makes a distinction b/w different types of activity, for anal, age of consent is 18 years,  & for all other, age of consent is 16 years.

So, unless you live in Tasmania or South Australia, you should be okay (if you live in Queensland, no anal until you're 18 years old).

If my post made you laugh (or giggle) in any way, smash that blue grey "Like this" button & like it

Well, the anus was made as an exit, not an entrance, but who really cares? It's painful and I guess if you're a lesser being you'll manage to do some damage.

What can I say The badge has its benifits

Plus My face might have something to do with it.

And where I work.

Lol. Well, best wishes to you, man.

First off; you're asking for relationship advice on a GTA IV modding website. I'm not saying that there aren't experienced people in that field on here but...

Secondly; the statement "The Badge has it's benefits" is the probably the most disrespectful, outrageous statement I've ever heard relating to people in Law Enforcement.ThatRandom, if you are a real Law Enforcement Officer; you would not be saying things like that; it's disrespectful to the actual men and women who have worked hard to earn their badge.

It's not some piece of metal to be used to get what you want from girls; or other people. It's a privilege to have a badge and to be in Law Enforcement; it's not your right.

Think about that.

Can someone tell me what the Law is for if 2 people want to go out but one of them is 16 and the other is 18.

I can't remember which Law that covers that.

It's a two year difference, who cares, Go for it man!

What exactly do you "do" in the LEO field at 16? I'm greatly curious.

The youngest people with "badges" in your country that I have found could be military police if they are hired that young (17) where the minimum for every police force along with the border services are 18, I'm curious as to what I am missing?

Secondary; what you said with regards to the "badge" is ridiculous.

Thirdly: Who the hell IN law enforcement, asks LAW RELATED questions on a video game website? Why don't you know the proper way to find the laws based on your law enforcement work?

Apparently he is a "Security Officer" and not a police officer.

Interesting, if he could put what "State" he is a "Security Officer" he works within I'd be interested. Every state I have found regulations on requires the state security workers to be minimum 18.

I also found federal legislation in Australia against security officers receiving badges. Quite the story.

Proof of age and identity

To work as a security officer, security bodyguard, crowd controller or agent in Western Australia, you must be 18 years of age or older. All licence applications require the applicant to produce sufficient identification.

Section 47 (1)(a) of the Security and Related Activities (Control) Act states that an application for the issue of a licence is to consist of the original or a certified copy of:

  • two documents referred to in items 1 to 6 in Category 1; or
  • one document referred to in items 1 to 6 (Category 1) and two documents referred to in items 7 to 10 (Category 2)."

He also used "double mag holders" in the post he made you quoted.

In Australia to my knowledge NO ONE under the age of 18 can obtain a firearms license. Which as pertained in my link is required.

To random or whatever: I'm not here to search everything and ruin your life or whatever, maybe YOU are a security worker and I am not properly finding ALL legislation; HOWEVER it appears you are lying.
