First off; you're asking for relationship advice on a GTA IV modding website. I'm not saying that there aren't experienced people in that field on here but...

Secondly; the statement "The Badge has it's benefits" is the probably the most disrespectful, outrageous statement I've ever heard relating to people in Law Enforcement.ThatRandom, if you are a real Law Enforcement Officer; you would not be saying things like that; it's disrespectful to the actual men and women who have worked hard to earn their badge.

It's not some piece of metal to be used to get what you want from girls; or other people. It's a privilege to have a badge and to be in Law Enforcement; it's not your right.

    Think about that.

captaincanada got a reaction from Darkangel in [DEBATE] Your Opinion On Legalizing Marijuana
There are many things much more detrimental to society then marijuana. Being the son of two parents who are both coppers, and having had my mother lead a "Serious Crime Unit" or a fancy name for drug unit in Canada, marijuana wasn't a priority what so ever.

If anyone actually thinks their are social repercussions to legalizing marijuana they are naive to the fact large proportions of society (at least in Canada) smoke it regardless. It's a losing battle and can't be won.

As for being a Police Officer (or auxiliary) for that matter, doing something opposed to guidelines is wrong and shows a lack of character. I'm not making a judgement call serg, but being someone who has gone extremely far into police applications for full time constable, doing drugs within 3-5 years of an application usually is an automatic DQ. I don't know what it's like where you are from however.

The thing about policing that a lot of people neglect to appreciate is that it is a job of empathy, you need to understand why people smoke it/ and who they are. For the most part they are young people who do it along side drinking. When I was in high school it was a lot easier for me to purchase marijuana then alcohol. Anything legalised becomes regulated and with that, further kept out of youths hands it also reduces the "gateway" drug theory when governments regulate it. I know of many people who reap the rewards of Medicinal Marijuana and also who use it as a method of having fun as opposed to alcohol. I don't condone doing something that is illegal, and after grade 10 in high school discontinued doing it myself however I don't place judgement on my friends who continue to do it in their own dwelling away from the public.

The simple answer "no" (or just a "yes" it should be legalized for that matter) it should not be legalized is a ridiculous answer and shows a lack of both empathy and understanding of society. At least provide explanation and purpose to your opinion. Good luck explaining questions in job interviews or for that matter police panel interviews with a "Yes" or "No" answer. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean you can't do research and make a conclusive decision on your own. If you do research, from credible sources (Health Canada for one) and find that you still believe Marijuana to be a dangerous drug, then sure make your argument, and I'll at least respect your opinion for its merit. However, being afraid to step out of your bubble and teaching oneself about the drug is a terrible excuse (IMHO).

No I don't think marijuana should be illegal, some who stated it would be easier for youth to access marijuana if it was legal are also stuck in LALA land as per what I said in paragraph 4.

captaincanada reacted to LukeD in Weazel News - Poor Quality of Service by EMS
Hey guys, here is the second video I got for the weazel news short clips I'm doing. As always, text description is provided below the video.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hySamzv0tr0&feature=youtu.be   Todays news, citizens are in uproar about the poor quality of service being provided by the emergency services of Liberty City after two people caught video footage on their phones of an elderly lady being struck down by not 1 but 2 emergency vehicles!   Citizens have sent in many complaints about the situation.   Liberty City Commissioner for government emergency services has responded to complaints made by the citizens stating that "The overall quality of our emergency services is above that of the services seen being provided in the footage. The ability of the paramedics is also out of our hand, and will be left to our first responder team."   He also stated that the officer responsible for the initial injury was "not at fault" and that the car manufacturer of that model of cruiser, "ekalb", would be contacted immediately.     Weazel News Short Clip Series >Routine Traffic Stop goes Wrong Poor Quality of Service by EMS (currently viewing) More to come       Notes: 1, yes I know I spelt immediately wrong in the video. 2, this one wasn't great but I giggled a lot at the glitch that caused the police car to go flying off at mach 5.   3, I bought a new graphics card, it arrives tomorrow, content will be better after that because I wont get texture glitches with the enb as much :)   4, to moderators. I'm going to be creating a "Hub thread" which will contain a link to each of the videos, that way I don't end up making 10000000000 threads.

captaincanada reacted to LukeD in Routine Traffic Stop Goes Wrong
Hi guys, I made this video for fun after playing LCPDFR.

For a full "news style" description of the events check below. The text is the same as that in the video description.

A simple routine traffic stop goes horribly wrong, twice!
CCTV imagery from the Liberty City Highway Agency shows how a routine traffic stop ends in a bad driver being arrested, and the fatal ending of a police officer's life.
A man during the traffic stop is seen at the beginning, colliding with the back of the officer's police car. He is promptly arrested and detained in the back of the car, while the officer moves on to deal with the original suspect who had been seen driving erratically.
The suspect opens fire on the police officer as he approaches the suspect's car window, resulting in the officer falling down. to make matters worse though, the office is hit by a taxi which loses control in the wet weather.
The officer was killed by a final few bullets, before being left for dead on the ground.
Liberty City Police Department have not yet caught the suspect, and the detained driver has been taken in for questioning.

If you liked the video let me know, and I will try and do more if you really want me to. It took a hell of a lot of editing because it kept going wrong, and yes I am aware of the small jumps between each of the video segments, this is because they were made in the rockstar video editor before being put together.

    Thanks :)

I have to disagree with you, the main story was really awesome, I enjoyed every mission! And no, Gta 5 has 69 main missions, and not 30. The ending of Gta 5 was disappointing, it was a bit strange. But I really love the game and I still enjoy it to play it!

Well, giving officers some powerful firearms doesn't mean they'll use them to shoot down a bus or two of innocent civs. Some cituations really require some firepower. Does anybody remember North-Hollywood shootout? How many officers had been injured cause Glocks were unable to overpower the perps? BTW, LAPD was issued rifles after that incident... Russian Road patrol and some street patrol are often equipped with assault rifles, AK-74, military issue. Not that it causes something wrong.

captaincanada reacted to B-7 in 1.0 — why I'll never get back to 0.95
This could be a basic “thank you” post, but I want to write it.
1.0 is laggy, baggy and freezy. Just any other major update of any software.
But it finally made LCPDFR real.
You don't need to kill a single suspect who held a gun, because he wan't surrender no matter what. You can taze him, then arrest. And colleagues won't kill him surrendering.
No more you just kill suspects, no more accidents are nothing. Everything should — or, at least, could be reported.
No more callout scenarios are straightforward missions. You never know what is waiting for you around the corner and what it'll turn to.
It feels not like True Crime's rudimentary “street crimes”, but more like SWAT4 on the streets. It's the game I've seen in my dreams.
Thank you. It's the best Chrismas and New Year present for me.

You can install a less cops mod, which reduces the amount of cop cars on patrol in Liberty City.  http://gtaforums.com/topic/403696-relivless-cops-around-liberty-city/

captaincanada reacted to Jdh1221 in Possible crash prevention (circumstantial)
Just in case some people didn't realize, there seems to be crashes when commanding someone to exit their vehicle (and sometimes even trying to arrest them within the vicinity of the vehicle). This obviously means that this command is bugged, but I've found out a temporary prevention measure. When aiming at the civilian inside their vehicle, instead of pressing 'E' to force them out of vehicle (and cause a crash), press 'G,' which--for the time being--will port them to the top of the car, thereby allowing you to arrest them safely. Hope this helps.

captaincanada reacted to Sam in LCPDFR 1.0 - The Video Preview
Back in September we announced LCPDFR 1.0 to be released later this year and showed off a 10 slide preview of the core features with some commentary and analysis from both LMS and myself.  Today, in the spirit of Christmas, and because NB is such a Grinch and it will deeply upset him, we're pretty happy to be able to finally show off the next version of LCPDFR in all its glory in an action packed video preview.

So here it is, a little present from the team to you.

Hey, no problem! I'm glad you're enjoying the mod, and I'm more than happy to try and implement user suggestions/feedback wherever possible.

Definitely got a kick out of that photo as well- responses like yours are what make coding worth it! I'm just about finished with 1.1, just trying to fix a couple of bugs with the newer calls, and then it'll be uploaded along with your suggestion to rename the calls. Should be done within an hour or two, if I'm lucky!

UPDATE: v1.1 has been released, and is currently awaiting approval from LCPDFR's community team. If the mod isn't visible at the moment this is why! Once it's back up on the downloads page you'll be able to download the updated verson and is now available for download!
