MANUAL TASER DATA FILE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE:
pclcpdfrmodels.img
pclcpdfrWeaponInfo.xml
pclcpdfrdefinitions.ide

IF SO, DO THE FOLLOWING:
MAKE A BACKUP OF commondataimages.txt
ADD TO commondataimages.txt
platformimg:/lcpdfr/models 1
AFTER THE LINE
platformimg:/data/maps/east/bronx_w2 0

MAKE A BACKUP OF commondatadefault.dat
ADD TO commondatadefault.dat
WEAPONINFO platform:/lcpdfr/weaponinfo.xml
AFTER THE LINE
WEAPONINFO common:/data/weaponinfo.xml

MAKE A BACKUP OF commondatagta.dat
ADD TO commondatagta.dat
IDE platform:/LCPDFR/DEFINITIONS.IDE
AFTER THE LINE
IDE platform:/DATA/MAPS/PROPS/vegetation/Int_veg.IDE

"WEAPONINFO platform:/lcpdfr/weaponinfo.xml" Is wrong, "platform" must be "common" or the game will crash. When I saved the default.dat with this line, the game didnt start. It loaded and crashed. Then I switched "platform" with "common" and it worked, I even can equip the Tazer now.

  • You know, these have been a tough couple of days for us, especially myself and LMS.  It is just incredible how something that works so well for yourself, and for all the testers, can work so horribly

  • I hear ya, it's frustrating for sure.  Even if that were the case for me, which it was until I tweak some things to get it to work properly, I wouldn't come onto this site to bitch about how I'm givin

  • You need to read the page that appears after clicking "Start new topic". This is done to cut down on the same issue having 20 threads created for it. It's called "we don't have every computer config

Unfortunately, since Microsoft is dropping support for their 12-year-old OS, there's not a whole lot we could do if we wanted to access the full functionality of .NET 4.5. XP counts as an ancient operating system.

No support for XP really is bad... well there goes any fun i may have had...

Sorry ;(  This is something totally out of our control.

No, platform is correct.

The LCDPFR weaponinfo.xml is located in pc/lcpdfr/WeaponInfo.xml.  In GTA IV's file definitions, platform is the platform the game is running on (in this case, PC), therefore it represents the PC folder.  You must have some sort of problem where the pc/lcdpfr folder doesn't exist, or pc/lcpdfr/WeaponInfo.xml is inaccessible or doesn't exist.

The other thing that would cause this to crash is a duplicate definition, which would be caused by your manual edit and the AdvancedHookInit.asi injection running simultaneously.  You may be able to remove AdvancedHookInit.asi if you have manually edited the files for the Taser.

Besides, there's no lcpdfr folder in the common folder.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

Can i ask, as it is the news section :) Whats the purpose and how to use "AdditionalCopCarModels"?

I mean, is it an ability to make the game believe that for example a normal vehicle can act like a police vehicle?

The taser still doesn't work. I tried without the guide how to manually install it, I tried with it, I've deleted the AdvancedHookInit.asi, I've tried everything. First it didn't work in any way, then, when I followed the guide, I got a fatal error, then i changed platforming/... in default.dat to common/... and it worked, but I got a fatal error after 5 minutes. Now it doesn't start anymore. Can't understand why this happens.. >.<

Possibly in the future, but the biggest effect is that it now allows people with just GTA4 to have full mod functionality (Computer and Model Choosing) with the Police3, Police4, and PoliceB slots.

Okay, do you have the definitions.ide, WeaponInfo.xml and models.img in the LCPDFR folder in the PC folder of the root GTA IV directory?

Yes, I do have this files (and even a WeaponInfo.xml.back). But it worked once and then never again, it's pretty annoying when I have to kill running suspects.

Don't even bother trying to fix it for windows xp. Because the solution will fuck us all over...

People need to wake up and buy the $50 copy of windows 7...

Also since I installed 1.0 I have noticed more crashes and more texture lost.

ATL+p IS NOT WORKING I INSTALLED ALL THE RIGHT THINGS IT IS STILL NOT WORKING WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT!!!!!!!!!

It's just you man, works perfectly fine for me. If something works with one person, it works, it's something the other is doing wrong. I reinstalled the game. I only have custom sounds, weapons, and peds in the game. It runs great, however I get texture loss from a severe lag spike after about an hour of gameplay.

Just giving my feedback.

After a clean install of GTAIV, manually installing all the components - not a single crash yet. Everything goes smooth and it's hell of a fun. Couple of minor bugs in tutorial with arrested ped teleporting and no driver in the test vehicle you should pull over. F7 - state message is saying you're busy although it sets you on duty and vice versa.

Is there a possibility that you could get it to work on windows xp??

Dude as said before it is completely out of their control as Microsoft is dropping support for the more than a decade old operating system.  Wake up and upgrade, its not much money and is well worth it.

On a support note, LCPD:FR isn't crashing for me, well maybe it is but I can't get to it to find out as my game is consistantly crashing on load up which has never, ever happened before.

Hi all, first of all, i have to say thanks to make LCPDFR..... even if its bugged, i love it.  Because its just a 1st day realease, i understand that its sometimes crashed. Mostly its crashed to me in 75-80% when i aimed somebody and start pressing  "E" to make arrest.

So when installing I got the piracy message saying how LCPDFR does not support it. I respect that. But since Windows Live shut down I cant open my client to re-download it. So to re-install it I have to do to TPB and download it from there then unfortunately use Razor 1911's crack. I know the only answer I'm going to get is "To bad buy it off of Steam." But I honestly cant. If you want to get ahold of me add me on Steam: Jpcod5 (The Doctor). and if you don't believe that I really own Grand Theft Auto IV on Windows Live check out my Win Live Account (Aztechripoff). I'm not lying, I really need help finding away to download this with out going to TPB all the time and using a crack.

Not that I support piracy or promote it, but I know how much you want to play this amazing updated version of LCPDFR.

Answer: Manual install - Download the rar and just extract stuff to your main GTAIV directory and make sure you copy ASI loaders from "LCPDFR Install (ASI Loaders)" to your main GTAIV directory aswell.

Friend of mine has similar problem...he have box version of GTA IV...we played 0.95 version of LCPDFR without problems. Now, he cannot even install GFWL...It always says that he already have the newest version but he uninstalled it. We tried everything from redownloading to sending my files to him. Do anybody have any advice? I do not thing it is problem of LCPDFR but one never knows. We are going to try formating HDD and reinstaling windows. Now, he has Win7. I have Win 8.1, no trouble so far.

P.S. You are great guys...perfect mod! I love it!
