  • Its not called being negative, its called being sensible and looking at the situation then making a relevant decision, it happens a lot in the adult world. I didn't sign the petition because it won't

I highly doubt a 140,000 person petition will convince them to put it on PC. Thats a very, very small amount of the sales they'll be getting from consoles sales alone.
And that isn't even from an official verified Rockstar Games source, so I'm counting it as fake until I see it on their Newswire.

Do the math 140,000 x $60 = $8,400,000 and that's just the people that spoke up about it! So ya it's coming it's just a mater of time!

Rockstar Job Listing May Hint at Grand Theft Auto 5 PC Port Rockstar Leeds seeking programmer “to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform.”
by Andrew Goldfarb
July 9, 2013

A job listing from Rockstar suggests that the studio could be prepping a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V after all. A listing from Rockstar Leeds (since removed but captured by Rockstar Watch) was seeking “a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform.”

“Working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible,” the listing continued. It also referred to “working with skilled developers on Next Generation games.”

For now, Grand Theft Auto V is only planned for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Previously, thousands of fans signed a petition for a PC version and listings appeared on various retailers, but nothing has been officially confirmed. It’s worth noting that Grand Theft Auto IV hit consoles in April 2008 while a PC version didn’t arrive until more than seven months later.

We’ve reached out to Rockstar about the listing and will update this story with any comment we receive. Until then, be sure to read about what’s new in today’s gameplay trailer.

The problem is it was ALWAYS coming, people were just too damn impatient and started throwing little hissy fits at Rockstar. Every single mainstream GTA has been released onto the PC, why wouldn't they do it with V where they could fully show the potential of the game?

People need to seriously calm down, the PC version is coming.

Until Rockstar explicitly says something through an official PR outlet (official Twitter, website, press release, etc.), I'm not believing a thing.

I am going to throw my two cents in....i think there will a special edition GTA V...Reason why i say that is that there hasn't  been a mention of a xbox one or PS 4 edition either, so i think the PC/XBOXONE/PS4 edition will come later this year when the XBOXONE and PS4 come out or early next year...GTA V  better come out PC....lol.. HOPE I AM RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure Rockstar said they aren't doing a next generation edition of the game, if I can find the source I'll post it

They're not saying anything wrong. The staff, along with many others are stating that any "rumor" should be considered false or misunderstood until Rockstar officially confirms it via Twitter, their website, ect. This is correct.

As Harper said, all GTA titles have been released on the Pc in the past, so I don't see why they wouldn't do with for V. Just be patient.

in my opinion i think we should all just relax im sure that at some point rockstars will release the game for pc but if we all keep bugging then all they going to end up making is another disaster like gt4 soo people relax

1) I highly doubt GTA V will be on next-gen consoles.

2) The community team (Harper and cp702) isn't being negative, they are being sensible. Rockstar will announce a PC edition before anybody else officially knows about it. Plus that link leads to a "Page not available" - reliable source, eh?

3) GTA V will most likely come to PC. Every main GTA has come to PC - always after the original release - so why wouldn't this one? Honestly, everybody trying to pressure Rockstar into releasing on PC is what's going to cause another shitty PC port like GTA IV. If you just wait and stop complaining, maybe Rockstar will actually make a better port this time around, but if you rush them it will be exactly the same as IV.

I think I covered all the points in this topic.

Edit: Nope, one more.

4) 3.6 million (3,600,000) copies of GTA IV were sold on day one. A hell of a lot more were sold after that; by August 2008, over 10 million copies were sold. 140,000 (.14 million) isn't that big of a difference. Plus, according to Take Two, sales on the PC version of IV were considerably less.

The game more than likely cost more than $8.4 million to make. Several times more. RealTimeWorlds spent over $100 million developing All Points Bulletin and Project MyWorld and after taking in only $10 million back on their mediocre game they collapsed as a company and had to sell APB for only $1 million and their other assets for far less than that. There is no question that from a financial standpoint, it would not make sense to make Grand Theft Auto V for PC only. Having it merely ported from XBOX 360 over to a PC though wouldn't cost nearly as much, and they might break even after some mediocre sales. So personally I can see it happening, but I wouldn't exactly count on Rockstar 100% either. Their recent job posting for someone to port console games over to PC is a good sign, though.

If a job posting on Rockstar's official website for their Leeds studio is anything to go by, we should be seeing a PC port of Grand Theft Auto V next year. The opening, which just appeared online this week, the need for a talented graphics programmer to help port Rockstar's latest titles to PC:

"Rockstar Leeds are currently looking for a talented graphics programmer to help bring our latest titles to the PC platform. Working together with the other Rockstar studios, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible."

The posting also makes mention of "working with skilled developers on Next Generation games", which appears to be a subtle hint that Rockstar is planning on continuing to release on PC in the future.

As most fans are aware, the PC versions of Grand Theft Auto games tend to be released around 6 months following the console release, so whilst some may be fearful a PC version is not going to happen, we'd personally put money on it following the usual trend. Hopefully this latest posting puts some minds at ease.

Can we PLEASE just stop! I hate seeing those key words such as "GTA V" and "PC". Seriously, consoles are starting to take over the PC generation. Yes, it's fun to play on the computer, but consoles WILL win this! I honestly think R* should put up a "yes" or "no" to the PC just so people will shut up!

Stop what? Stop talking about GTA V coming to PC on a forum based around a modification for GTA IV on PC? Yeah, that's not gonna happen. If you don't want to see it, don't click on the thread, but this sort of thing is *exactly* what you should expect lots of threads about on a site devoted to the PC version of the previous game in the series.

It is highly unacceptable that PC wont receive GTA V because of piracy. I've seen many people who pirate Xbox and maybe PS3 games as well. Thats definitely not a reason why R* wont release GTA V for PC.

Not releasing GTA V for PC will also mean a loss in revenue for R* games although there will be pirates here and there. I have an illegal and legal copy at home. The illegal one is to test mods before I mod my legal one. :)

GTA has always been a game for PC players as well. Imagine what could possibly happen if you disappoint hundreds of thousands of your fans... Reputation goes DOWN DOWN DOWN.

The only possible reason why R* doesnt announce PC version is because they have a lack of PC developers. MAYBE. YOu know R* don't promise anything until it is confirmed in development. Tell me more about what you feel. Cheers
