    Thanks everyone.   And people, please, lets stay on the topic... this is not a discussion for car/brand copyright ;) I already stated that we will not use it.   @Bravuogn Never o/   Cheers

    Thanks Dark. We will have more news very soon, I just made a new post on our webpage and I really want to show you this ;)

Thanks @Ekalb... but, at that time I made a post here, I was thinking in a real project, just making some survey.

What you guys see in there... is just 3 weeks of work, and not full time ;)

Now, imagine what we can do if I can make this a comercial project viable to my company? o/

@Sam

Thanks :)

@ekalb

I'm also a part of the team, we're currently existing out of 2 people. Xandeck is doing the most thing, i'm doing the 3D models part, beside the thing that we're also using third party assets.

FWIW it's pretty common to use different stuff in private closed door testing then change it for the final version, least as far as the project I'm involved with (That had real, but rebadged cars/tracks that got badged once licenses were done or altered) so it's not just this game that does it.

Agree

ahh i remeber you guys. You had a thread here with a poll asking people if they would enjoy such a game.

Great to see you're really working on that project. To be honest with you i had my doubts. But great to see it.

Your game looks really nice to me. If you ever need someone to test, please let me know!

@robocop @DevildrummerX

Devildrummer is right, robocop. Depending in what you doing, it is not an easy thing to make. Right now, no real modding like GTA has. But I am already making XML files for many NPCs and other features in the game, because I want players have the possibility to modify some aspects of the game. And, in the future, if the game become a good product, why not trying something more complex? :)

I know Kerbal space program uses unity3d to make there game your using it to and there are many mods for that game so im sure you will be able to mod alot once you get working.But first just work on the game to make it the best it can be.

Do you have licences to use the Dodge logo, HEMI trademark or other licenced material in your game, if not it will get swarmed by lawyers on release.

Until you have licences you will have to do what GTA IV does and use mock names and logo's for cars, otherwise it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

But other than that, the video looks amazing, nice game. Keep it up :)

Hey guys, thanks for the feedbacks.

About the models:

I am aware of the brand/cars problemas, don't worry, that was just a test (there are people also complaining in the youtube about the Dodges engine sound, lol). In fact, we will not use any real cars, at max just similars (as @ninja35 said), I will take more actions about this in the public alpha and also in the next video. I will try my best to keep track on this post, but for quick news, heads up to my dev blog and IndieDB game page.

Cheers

@Faracus

Thanks for the tips, but this was already cleared ;)

I am totally aware of that. In fact, I did not know this will cause this much attention right now.

It looks like an awesome game, quite like the game myself and a few friends have been planning (we are also planning on going Unity), I'd hate to see such a good game get burried under a metric shit-tonne of legal problems, I love indie games, and when your demo is released I'll for sure have to add it to my Indie Monday playlist :)

It looks pretty awesome for just 3 weeks of work.

I like the illumination & reflections.

Have you added any actions yet? Or is that still to-do?

I expect to see this game become Huge once it's completely done & released.

Speaking about release, do you have a plan on going Kickstarter once you have mostly completed the game?

If my post made you laugh (or giggle) in any way, smash that blue grey "Like this" button & like it :smile:

Hey guys, thanks :)

We have a few actions already, but right now is directed to AI cars and NPCs. The actions of the police are not ready, but it should not take long after I finish the NPCs part.

I plan to release a public alpha with NPCs system reacting to cars (almost ready), much more buildings and a better performance. Right now, at night, with good visuals, lights and shadows, its still a bit heavy.

This weekend we will discuss about Crowdfunding and other possible actions for the game :)

I might suggest coming up with a catchier name for the game. Police Tactics isn't all that impressive :P Perhaps you could ask the LCPDFR community to help you out with that one!

Hello guys.

thanks for all the nice replies, we really appreciate that! The name isn't indeed that impressive but at the moment we don't know any other name for it, and we won't need it yet. It's still an Work In Progress. Idea's for a new name are always welcome!

Have you guys considered Steam Greenlight? Steam has some helpful tools, and a great content distribution system, personally it's my second fav DRM method, just coming in behind No DRM of course :P

Yeah I know, but in video we can see "Hemi" branding and the "Dodge" logo, as an example.

It's why I said that in post above, but of course if models are not exact copies and are not branded, it's ok.

U.S. copyright laws also suggest that vehicles have to have at least a couple of subtle differences in them too beyond the brand on the hood/trunk. It's the reason why the CVPI "Vapid" in GTA IV has the 1990's style Crown Vic tail lights instead of the ones from the early 2000's and after, and why the Chevy Impala (DeClasse) has square tail lights instead of the round ones.
