All I am trying to say is talk to a professional to discuss those horrific things that you saw today and make sure you don't have any underlying (for lack of a better word) components or PTSD symptoms or any of that stuff. Stay Strong Man! Main thing is dont let this negatively effect your life

Do you know anybody personally in Pakistan? I know you don't live there, so I don't think you're in a position to count casualties. The government we have has taken measures to combat terrorism and keep it away from our borders as much as possible. NDAA and the Patriot Act are two extreme measures but they've been effective in capturing people, even from countries that are considered by our average citizens to be on friendly terms with the U.S.

That being said, I don't really like either of them, but I also would like to avoid getting ball bearings shot into my extremities on f*cking Patriot Day during a marathon dedicated to the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings.

I've been in Boston this past week I was around that area, Poor people did not deserve this. An 8 year old boy? makes me sick to my stomach.

We've taken just about as much action as this country will tolerate. It's putting our government between a rock and a hard place. You can't have total security while still maintaining all of your constitutional rights. So we have to make compromises. That means people like those responsible for this bombing may slip through the CIA/FBI/HLS's fingers due to red tape issues regarding wire tapping, e-mail reading or warrant-less searches.

cp702 while I agree politics debates are annoying and can never be settled, even by voices of reason, this is a terrorist attack on U.S. soil and as such IS a political issue. If you wish to avoid the thread swelling out of control, I suggest you close it while you have the chance. Anybody who wanted to pay their respects has done so, everyone here knows how to type www.cnn.com or www.msnbc.com into their web browser so they can follow up on the story, so beyond debating who's responsible, why, and how we can prevent it, there is no further need for this topic.

Injured

 

 

CNN reported 144 wounded, including eight children. 17 wounded are in critical condition. All victims of the scene of the crime away. They are treated in seven different hospitals. There would be ten amputations.

The FBI is leading the investigation. The police stressed at the press conference that no suspects have been arrested. At 6.00 pm Dutch time Associated Press reported that in a suburb of Boston apartment is searched.

The police confirmed that the search of the neighborhood Revere has to do with the investigation into the attack during the marathon.

The explosions were approximately two hours after the winners had crossed the finish line in Boylston Street in the southwest of the city center. There are thousands of spectators on tribunes had collected, while thousands of runners crossed the finish line. Seventeen thousand of the 23,000 participants had anticipated when the marathon.

Library

 

 

Besides the two explosives at the finish of the marathon would be another bomb went off at the JFK Library, said the police chief of Boston Ed Davis during the first press conference. Later it turned out that a fire going. Researchers have not established a link between the fire and two bombings.

The airspace above the site of the incident is closed. Even Boston Logan Airport was briefly closed, but has since reopened.

 

Terrorist activity

 

 

The White House brought out temporarily to assume a 'terrorist act'. '' Any incident with multiple explosives, where it seems to go, is clearly a terrorist act and is therefore approached as a terrorist act,'' a spokesman know.

According to the White House, investigations must show whether a terrorist group behind the attack is and whether it is domestic or foreign attackers.

A spokesperson of the Taliban in Pakistan late Associated Press that the organization is not behind the attack. This group was in 2010 after the failed attack with a car bomb in Times Square in New York.

3 people were killed, one of those an 8 yr old child. Well over 100 people were injured.

 

I just got home from school, turned on the TV and saw the blast (It happened in the middle of the night in Australia, so we only found out the next day). Horrible stuff, I hope the Boston PD find those responsible and slap them with all the justice system has got.

 

RIP to the victims and I hope the others injured make a full recovery.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families..This is an absolutely disgusting act of terror and I hope If the suspect(s) don't kill themselve(s) before they are arrested and charged, the amount of serious anger by the public and disciplinary action taken by the Bureau along with the sentence will just about kill them mentally.Surely Justice will be done as this uncovers itself.

Let's find the person guilty of it and give them a good ol' Osama Bin Laden treatment. Nuff' said.

Ideally the media would stop the coverage in a day or so and let it be that, I don't think any of the involved apart from those who did this wants it to be on the cover of everything, they want peace and space to deal with the aftermath, photos of those gravely injured made their way to the internet less than a hour after the attack to place, we could sit here at home and look at the horrific injuries before they could even get to hospital.

 

Even if it is terrorism (read middle eastern people, at least that is the definition the media uses for terrorists), then saying that you wish for them to die is exactly what they want, they want death to America because America wants death to them, you are in turn giving their cause more credibility.

You can't expect people to follow the law if you break it yourself.  I don't want to get into a heated political debate, although I think it needs to be said that one of the driving causes behind the terrorism that our countries face is our actions on the global stage.  When the US tortures someone in a secret camp in Afghanistan, all they are doing is giving people reason, very good reason at that, to hate America, and all of the things that Americans stand for.

 

Its the Taliban that tortures people, its the Taliban that kills people, what's the point in pretending that we're any different if we're going to do the same?  As NB said, they want death to America because America wants death to them.

But i still think its a alone guy that is crazy. I hope that they can catch him, And 1000 years in prison! (rest of his life).
