Ok with my first script almost released I have started on my next script ADMS. This will be able to work with my GPS/Location Script to show what department you are in, and change the marker icon that is displayed for you, or this can be used as a stand alone replacement for DAS.

 
With this script I plan on adding EMS and FD skins to the list, as well as the link with my GPS/Location Script.

 

This script is now in Public BETA. I have decided to release it this way as the script is made for use by clans, and this is the best way to allow clans to test it, and offer feedback. Instructions on how to post bug reports is in the ReadMe included with the file.

 

Please post bugs ONLY here. All other places are not guaranteed OFFICIAL support.

could you have it so you can customize the call signs?

like person before me, it would be perfect if you could assign in the ini where you could use your own call sign, so the groups that assign call signs will see the ones that they assign to the individual in stead of the randomly selected numbers

This is a planned feature. You will be able to customize all the prefix indicators, I'm just using O for the strooper as in my clan it's O.P.P

All my scripts will be released for free to the public. My GPS script will have a Public version, but it will be more useful for Affiliated Clans who will be able to put the live map on their own websites showing the units that are online.

 

There will be a free map showing all people using the script, and what clan they are in for the main public release, in the second public release I will make private maps for non-paying clans to use as well. I will never make anyone pay for any of my scripts.

 

*EDIT* This script is already in BETA, I'm just waiting to hear back from my testers to let me know how it's doing before I continue on it.

 

*EDIT 2* This script also does not require my GPS script to work, it will be just as fine on it's own, but I am adding support where the unit type will also send with the updates to allow custom icons on the maps to show the units type and code

So without the GPS mod, will we be able to see where the other players are, who are playing as emergency services? Also will this feature stuff like DAS did, like asking for backup and responding? And if so, will those be customizable, as in changing what we would be writing down in MP.

This mod does not send any information to databases like my GPS mod, my GPS mod sends the players corrds to a database and then gets displayed on a Google Map. With ADMS you will still shave your GPS function that you had in DAS, I just plan on making it work more than once, which I have found happens with DAS.

 

As for asking for backup/responding I'm still thinking about those, I know a lot (if not all) clans use TS for communication, but like my GPS script I am working on bringing CAD features in to the game. The more people ask for this feature the more likely I will include it.

Well we use DAS in IV RP without lcpdfr, and we don't use voice chat in the lcpdfr RP group, nor DAS, since we can't customize the stuff we write. I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't use microphone.

 

Btw yes DAS had that bug, that if there are only 2 cops, then DAS only works once. However if there are 3 cops (including you), then you can switch between them with + and - and that way their position will be updated.

I've had the bug happen even with more than one other player.

 

When you want to customize your message, what is an example of what you would change it to?

By "private maps" what do you mean?

Wouldn't the map be of Libery City?

Private maps i.e only showing that clan's members, which is actually already implemented, I was not sure how I would get things brought out, but I decided to bring private maps out for all users, but affiliated clans get a password protected map, and in a future release of the GPS script, will also require that password to use the clan name.

 

Thanks, there is a slight hold in this project, GPS script needed some extra attention after it's release than I thought (stupid late bugs), but I hope to get back to full attention on this script shortly.

 

*EDIT* I'm also thinking of making this a Public BETA as it's supposed to be used on a larger scale. Right now it's just customizable prefix, I'm still a long way from the GPS feature, and the responding/request text is for the last phase, so let me know what you think about a Public BETA.

OK good news, the PUBLIC BETA version is now uploaded to the LCPD:FR servers, I am just awaiting approval, so keep your eyes on the downloads section, last approval took 15 hours, so it could be a while, depends on how much is in front of me, and how busy the Moderators are. Please read main post for information on how to post bug reports.

 

*EDIT* It's late and I'm tired, I forgot to remove the Repeating Version check which after the GPS script I know causes more problems than it solves, sorry guys, but I will not upload a new version now, I will wait for it to be approved and allow people a chance to test it, but please do not comment on this, I am aware of it and I will change it tomorrow. I'm off to bed now, so I probably wont be up when it is approved, but I hope you all enjoy the BETA test,
