I'll just keep it simple. Unless you need the laptop for school and work you really shouldn't buy it. Before I bought my desktop I wanted the same thing. But laptops life expectancy isn't very good. Plus laptops lose value very fast. I mean your talking about dropping one grand plus for something that won't run GTA V High if at all medium. Now recommended settings, yeah you should be fine. But if I was you I would reconsider the gaming laptop idea as you would get more bang for your buck with a desktop. As you stated you don't really care if it can run pretty as long as it can run, which the laptop will do.

So i don't need to worry about buying a better CPU? Just need to buy the card and probably the Evo 212.

I'm looking to be able to play GTA IV on high-max settings or at least good enough to have a good experience playing GTA IV lcpdfr. This is all the specs/computer i have all stock (minus the Power Supply, i currently have XFX 650W Core Edition): Heres the Computer I'm currently looking at this graphics card to get. I'm wondering if thats the best option at that price to play GTA IV and if i need a new CPU or even motherboard? If so please recommend one around a max of 250 (USD). Also im currently using dual monitors both 1920x1080 each. Thanks in advanced for the help!

make a backup of the folder and put it in win32_30_nv8 so you have one win32_30_atidx10 and another in win32_30_nv8?

Changing the resolution may move it a little but not to much but you can try it.

I somehow messed that up hit advance now i have five options, and of course i don't have a gaming option (worst luck) Is this what your program looks like? Does it auto update? Or is it supposed to look like this?

I see 3 options desktops and displays, power,performance. In performance is clock controls cpu and amd overdrive what do i do? do i need to change my cpu processor speed or what? Im kinda stuck...

Win 7 couldnt find catalyst control... for me is it amd vision control? Or how can i find it? Everything is low besides textures

UPDATE: Try it on medium works great but its still slower then my commandline anybody help? Run great just game goes fast then slow and repeats fps is f up anybody help?

i did what you said to do its still slow, like gameplay will go slow solid 2-3 secs of pressing button b4 the action happens.

Thanks Dr (if I may call you that), I thought I had a pretty good rig I will be giving gta permissions in norton security when I get back home. I thought that using the command line for my rig wasn't needed I hope this works. Thanks for the reply!

So ive really been enjoying GTA IV mods. However not that enjoyable on lowest settings and a bad resolution. I went out ask for help b/c i couldn't run without frame skipping. Skipping frames, my gta folder only had user music in it then i extracted and ran update from gta IV

I didnt torrent its was four bucks on steam and i bought it, ill be trying the patch thanks!
