A petition posted to Change.org calls on Rockstar Games to bring GTAV to PC and has more than 50,000 signatures as of press time.

 

"Please release GTA V on PC," the petition begins. "GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a huge part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have."

As of this message it is up to 70,000. Will it make a difference? Will you sign it? Should the description for the petition not have been written by a teenager?

Its an inevitability yes, but does it require something like this? I think not.

Signed. I really hope Rockstar doesn't screw the PC crowd. Red Dead Redemption was a phenomenal game but was only available on console.

No, it won't.

 

Think of how many units each GTA game sells in its average lifespan.

 

Now look at how many have signed that petition, its not enough.

 

Simply saying "Because we want it on PC" won't cut it, Rockstar WILL release it on PC just like they have with all other GTA's.

70,000 is not going to matter they maake most money with console in gta4's first week they sold 6 million units worldwide and made over 500 million dollars

Yeah but I think they will eventually release the PC version. If we manage to prove to them PC is a good release option, it would probably only increase the urgency for them to get the PC version released quickly.

It's pretty obvious they'll make a GTA V PC edition. Like IV, it will be a shitty port with not much effort paid to it. There's not much business value in putting all the effort into the for R*. The petition won't change shit.

I signed the petition all the same, they do however need to understand that PC games for GTA is still on high demand, look at SA, it has it's own section on GPM and it's still growing, the possibilities with PC are almost limitless, console, is really for lazier people who don't want to put up with having to install everything themselves and you can only do what the console limit's you to do.

It's sad really, 9/10 the people that call PC gamers whiners, are actually, pardon my french, but fucking retarded.

I mostly played on my 360, the rest of the time I endured the slowness that was my previous machine. To be fair, many people can't just get the money together for a decent PC in a short period of time, and when they do they are stuck selecting components that will be obsolete in two weeks anyway, having just been released, and will not be able to run games developed by people who think that graphics must be bleeding edge with no proper low end settings, that will only run on two day old, overclocked, £2k+ machines.

The developers have access to hardware that most average people don't have and then loose touch with the real world. The console is a good way to escape their moronic moves by forcing them to stick to a "performance budget".

R* nerved said they wouldn't be making a PC copy of the GTA V, I just not being reliased at the same time as the xbox/ps3 copy. how do you not get this?

On the basis of this. I have purchased a pre-ordered version of GTA 5 for PC. The way I see it. People are going to spend more on GTA V when it comes out to see if it can be modded. They will design new software for it. Perhaps, Rockstar Games has seen this and may have decided that, maybe due to the spending of hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars, we won't release a pc version. I am not sure whether a PC version is coming out. Here in Australia,  the PC version is all over the place, the Xbox and PS3 are supposed to be early next year. What I am saying is, don't get your hopes up and go doing the most ridiculous thing and make a petition. Be patient. I have been waiting 18 months,  since preorder for it. I will wait another 24 if I have to, to get the game. Keep it together for now. EB games no longer has preorder for GTA V, but JB Hifi does, so don't worry too much about it. I have had confirmations to PC being on pre-order as well, making this topic of the petition absolutely useless. Worry less about the game, and more about when the game will come out. I have also been informed that, the PC version in Australia will be released around the end of next year. This is all the info I have at current. Wish I had more. Don't  let others ideas block yours, let yourself lead the way.

That petition is pointless. They gotta do what they gotta do. Since they aren't a group of people elected by the public, they can't be assed to listen and act on people's complaints. They take notice of feedbacks, not complaints.

It's not pointless, the companies do pay attention contrary to popular belief. But as Jay said, if it's not a good business decision to port it to PC, then they'll ignore it.

I signed just because why not. I wasn't too comfortable giving them my home address, so I figured they could have my ex-girlfriends instead.
