It is possible to give the Patrol units new wapons?

(Dessert eagle,M4,sootguns etc etc etc)

So that some cops have instead of a normal Pistol a dessert eagle?

And some cops, when there is a shoot out , pull out M4,Shotguns and others

Is that possible?

Because it's annoying when they only pull out Pistols!

Custo is pretty much the god of modifying GTA data files (which is the type of mod you're talking about). If anyone knows how to do it, he probably does.

Yes, they do. It's not just LA; rifles are relatively common police weapons these days (sometimes replacing shotguns).

I agree; I want to replace the shotguns for LCPD officers with AR-15s, or even supplement them.

And yes, across the USA, regular patrol officers do use carbines, such as AR-15s. They keep them in their cars, ready for action, due to criminals having more firepower these days. In fact, on a recent episode of COPS, officers responding to a shots fired call (I believe it was in Amarillo, Texas) pulled out their AR-15s when arriving on scene.

Back in 1997, the LAPD squared off against two bank robbers wearing body armor and armed with assault rifles. Their pump-action shotguns and pistols were useless against them and only when LAPD SWAT was called in were the suspects neutralized.

I guess you could probably replace all the shotgun data with carbine data, and effectively turn shotguns into rifles. That's an ugly option, though.

I lived in a town with a police force that had about 2, maybe 3 officers on duty at any given time and they all carried tactical M4 carbines in their cruisers because they were more accurate than shotguns.

Just to repeat, I am writing my idea again:

Some cops will have a dessert eagle instead of the normal Pistol.

And some Cops will pull out M4's,Shotguns(included the Combat Shotgun) and other weapons(like an Mp5 (i don't know if the cops use mp's)),when there is a shoot-out or there are shots fired(from a russan gang idiot for an example)

And (some) NOoSE (Swat)agents wil have Mp'5 and Uzi's

I think when someone made such a script he should made it so,that the user can choose(or edit) what for weapons the cops have!

And we said that it wasn't possible to modify in game files to differentiate the weapons because it is hard coded into the game. The only way to change it would be within LCPD:FR. I made the suggestion on the Jira site a while back to be able to choose cars, officers and weapons, but it didn't gain any traction from the devs.

Well a lot of things that would make sense of be fun don't gain traction on JIRA. When there's a will, there's a way. But the mod has other priorities as there's still a number of yet-to-be-fixed glitches and overhauls to be made in order to make the mod as it exists well polished. I think the default police weaponry is "accurate enough". And if features such as AI conducted traffic stops or spike strip deployments are to ever be implemented, we need to push minor things like that onto the back burner, if you guys see where I'm coming from.

That would just make the m4 act as a shotgun unfortunatly

Definantly, the cops in my town have shotguns, Remmington 870s I think, and AR-15s in their cars. The Alaska State Troopers carry them, mainly because of bears (don't tell Illya Bryzgallov) and crazy people with even bigger guns than the AR-15, but a lot of places do have long guns nowadays.

download simple native trainer, after download F3 and then weapons

That is only for the player, not all non-player spawned cops carry the standard weapons. That is what they want to change.
