  • Almost 24 hours later, I've skiped a few things I needed to do today to work on DLS and it works way better than the one I started the day with. A lot of features that were lacking when I put the put out the post are now available and the Siren Controller finally works just like I envisioned it. There still a few features lacking for a big 1.0 version to be published but for now it's working just fine. I've been contacting some vehicle modelers and having them check out the script and some were very interested, hopefully by the public release I'll get a lot of configuration files. For now I'll share some things that might help you guys understand the mod better.

ETA Update

  • I expected that development for this mod would be very extensive, but it's not been quite as much (although this week was atypically calm for me). I'm not going to set any ETAs on stone but expect to hear more updates and who knows a public beta by weekend (hoping for it). I envision releasing the public beta as soon as I'm certain of the script's stability and performance, most likely with the current feature list. For now, my time will be focused on optimizing as best as I can the plugin (mind that I'm in no means a professional in coding, I'm just someone with a hobby) and creating configuration files myself for some of the most downloaded Non-ELS vehicles published in LCPDFR.com.

Bug report: using captain14's sheriif pack (the very popular one) all the lights look like this. they emit, but no textures

Remember: Always use a mods folder!

@Play3r2Might want to check your vehicles.meta for those cars and make sure <diffuseTint="0x00FFFFFF" /> is present for each siren setting.

How do I get my Traffic Advisors to (1) work and (2) change them without turning on/off the right turn signal (L Keybind according to the dls ini file). Is there something I have to do in OpenIV/Scripting via C++?

There is something wrong with Traffic Stop when using DLS.

1. I can't use megaphone to force stop a driver (with E key), I'm holding key but nothing happens, no horn, no stop.

2. When I do cancel traffic stop (with SHIFT key) second siren turns on and I can hear two sirens.

When I have enabled the Siren Control for Non DLS vehicles, whenever I enter a Non-DLS vehicle, the siren is the default police, instead of what those vehicle's audioNameHash has bound to.

 

Is there plan to make the xml file able to left <Sirens> blank (using default carcols) with the ability to do tone customisation, so it can replace the SirenMastery for Non-ELS all at once?

Not sure if this is the appropriate location for this, but I am experiencing a strange bug.
There are often times the AI units are not using their lights at all.
The siren is working perfectly fine, but their emergency lights are off.

 

Just curious if anyone has experienced this bug as well.

Beyond that, the mod is an absolute must for non-ELS users.
Amazing work.

Go into DLS.ini and find the line ailightscontrol=true, set that to false

Randomly started getting this when I loaded DLS after LSPDFR even though earlier tonight it was working perfectly fine, nothing in the files was changed since install.

BUG REPORT:

DLS does something to the in-game radio (music) so it is permanently on.
Even if you have it turned off in your settings via the slider, it will still play in AI vehicles (police or civilian) at full volume.

Pros: There are settings within LSPDFR that mean it doesn't affect the car you spawn into.

 

Cons: If you take control of a car that isn't a police vehicle, or any vehicle that the AI has previously driven, the radio will be on. From my testing, 100% of AI has the radio turned on. So when you arrest someone from a pursuit, or if the AI are queueing behind you, all you hear is music. It kind of ruins the immersion.

 

Let's hope development for this mod are still ongoing considering ELS has reached EOL. The Lore-Friendly community rely on this mod for the sirens!

So, since the update, not getting any difference in my stage lighting.  Click onto stage one and it's just stage three lighting on all the stages.

so I've noticed something about the siren tones usable for DLS and I was wondering I could get some assistance on it. looking on the DLS github and taking a peek at the different names of the tones to be used, I noticed the fire truck secondary and the police secondary tones have different hashes for their unique sounds, but the xml name for them are the exact same, "fast_9mvv0vf." upon further testing, copy pasting the the line from the fire truck's tone name from the github in game does indeed sound the police tone. I was wondering if I might be missing something or if there is a typo, or if its a limitation of the mod itself. Thanks in advance!

where did you find the tones that can be used on the github?
