Lenny's Mod Loader 0.4 Build 8825

(17 reviews)
Message added by Cyan,

An issue has been identified with the latest build of GTA V and LMLA new build will fix this in the future. The issue is caused by a change in GTA V's DRM/anti-tamper.

In the meantime, as a workaround starting the game with RPH will allow LML to work. You could also launch RPH when GTA V is at the mode selection screen, waiting for RPH to load, then selecting Story Mode.

The general idea of Lenny's Mod Loader is to provide an easy way to install file modifications. This is achieved in two different ways depending on whether existing resources in the game are to be 'replaced' or if new resources are added to the game as 'addons'. To replace resources, the game file system can be modified on a per-file basis allowing you to quickly change the content of files without touching any RPFs. To add new resources, the new content can be loaded from disk directly into the game, again without the need for any RPF changes. Goodbye to patchday17 and dlclist.xml. Certain mods, such as vehicles, can even be loaded at runtime, making choosing your new favorite ride a breeze.

Hey! Amazing mod i was shocked to see it actually work, just a little feedback;

-It would be great if you install a vehicle it would edit the vehicle.meta for at least standard 2 things, those things being 1. <diffuseTint value="0x00FFFFFF" />  2. <handlingId>POLICEt</handlingId>     number 1 is so you dont get dark tinted glass, number 2 is so the vehicle doesnt roll over quickly.

-It could be cool if this mod also automatically detects els.xml files for vehicles and moves these to the correct folder, because then ELS vehicles will instantly work! EDIT: <-- Doesnt work when game is still launched, but files IS moved to correct folder automatically

Thanks, this could be a real great oppertunity for the modding community. Thanks a lot!

Okay I finally did decide to try this and it is awesome!! Not sure what the antivirus problem with it is but it is safe and quick question can we add weapons through this as well like addon weapons?

Not sure, but is it fine to leave the modloader files in GTAV folder and still play GTA Online without being banned, considering OPENIV mod options are disabled/uninstalled.

Can I still use OpenIV still with LML?

Windows defender is labeling the executable as a trojan and automatically deleting the file, anyone else have this issue?

Should any window pop up from the loader when u start the game? For me, nothing happens (only the game starts). I left the ModManager files in the folder and put the whole folder just in the game direction. Sorry for bad English by the way.

Edit: It was Norton. Fixed.

Do i still need to keep a "mods" folder in the GTA directory or can i use this now? I did look at wiki and the comments and couldn't find out, unless i missed it

Any ETA on when you might be able to make this look less fishy to anti-viruses? I have Kaspersky and no matter what I do, even with ModManager.UI.exe whitelisted/excepted, my anti-virus just keeps deleting it immediately

Right now it seems this is worse then having to do the mods manually.

You can use both, it does not interfere. The methods differ vastly so LML cannot just load what you have in your mods folder, but you can migrate your mods if you want.

You can keep everything you have and just install new resources through LML if you want.

My LSPDFR character is invisible now after I installed the new update. When I disabled the Coastal Callouts plugin in the ModManager my character reappeared. Is there something I can do to make him visible again? I haven't changed anything with the files from Coastal Callouts, I just put in all of the files from the new update.

Thanks for your report. I just checked in my game and I cannot reproduce using the latest LML and Coastal Callouts version. What character model and outfit are you using?

Edit: Seems to affect the male multiplayer model only. I will push a fix soon.

Edit2: Uploaded a fix, please redownload and replace vfs.dll in your game root and try again.

You know, it seems to be a very good Plugin. But I'm affraid to use it. I've been installing every and each of my mods, add-on cars, plugins manually (not even once I have run an auto installation) and I like that manuall way.. I never had a problem with manuall intsalls. Can you change my mind @LMS?!

If you know what you are doing manual installations are totally fine. LML would still offer you a few advantages, such as an easier way of toggling your mods since you can do it from a user interface instead of having to manually remove them (also ensures you do not forget any files) and a much easier process after a game update as all you need to do is get a new gameconfig and no need to reinstall anything else. Of course for mods that are officially supported it also makes the installation a lot quicker.

Ultimately it depends on you. I can totally understand that after many years of manually navigating RPF files this way seems a bit foreign and might be confusing at first. That being said, I think that once you get the hang of it, you will realize that it makes modding not only a lot simpler but also greatly reduces installation issues.
