Ever wished you could quickly close off a freeway so no cars can get by? Ever wanted to block off the scene of a dead body so that curious pedestrians couldn't tell who exactly shot them? Perhaps you just want to peacefully do some construction work, but oblivious drivers keep driving into your work zone. Or maybe you're fighting a fire, and need to stop rubberneckers from wandering into harm's way.

KNOWN ISSUE: The tape sometimes droops through the ground, especially when there is not much wind or with longer pieces of tape. User more barriers and shorter pieces of tape to help reduce this effect. This is due to the limitations of what cloth physics can do in zmodeler/GTA V. Version 2.0 adds static tape models which do not sag as an option. You can choose for each strand whether to use static or dynamic tape.

 

KNOWN ISSUE: If you are having issues with changing the keybindings in the INI not taking effect in the game, add a single blank line at the top of your INI file. 

 

KNOWN ISSUE: You may need to install a modified gameconfig.xml, depending on your version of GTA V. If you already have a modified gameconfig.xml to support add-on vehicles, you should be OK. If you haven't before and your game crashes on startup after installing Police Tape, you need to install a custom gameconfig. You can use the following LML package to install a compatible Gameconfig file:

I can confirm it works perfectly fine now, I uninstalled and reinstalled which did the trick. I must have installed it incorrectly the first time.

I've installed this mod along with the modified gameconfig file (thus also the HeapAdjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster) however I get 'Out of Memory' crashes every time I load up the game now. 

 

Is there a solution for this?

 

(For context, I use LML [I'm not very experienced with modding and mod installation so wanted to keep it as simple as possible, or so I hoped]. The only things I have installed with LML is this mod and the gameconfig file too, so there won't be any other mods interacting with this. I've installed the HeapAdjuster and the Packfile Limit Adjuster from their respective links on the gameconfig file download page, and followed their instructions to install [which were to just drag and drop them into the main GTA V directory] but now when trying to run LSPDFR, it displays the ERR MEM EMBEDDEDALLOC ALLOC error).

Did you also try disabling the MP maps setting in LSPDFR? Which gameconfig are you using, the one for LML which I posted?

Crash on startup unless "Main.DisableMultiplayerMap = true" is set in lspdfr.ini

EDIT: I just forgot to install custom gameconfig ._.

Turns out I just forgot to install custom gameconfig after reinstalling GTA V - everything works fine now even with MP map.
So sorry for blaming your plugin.

Hello, I tried to use this in FiveM and it looks really great, however i feel like the object moves alot with the wind.. I tried changing the flags on the ytyp without success. 

Would you be able to provide any insights as to what flags i should use? I wouldn't mind if it doesn't move at all, but it's just too windy, specially on the big ones.

Read the description. I'm aware of the tape being very windy, there's nothing that can be done about it.

Great mods and work perfectly fine for me!!! Plus is a great combo with this mod [Scene manager] for editing the path waypoint. and for [Police Tape] easy to access or install the barrier block+tape and soo satisfying. This is a very important mod especially on the highway to prevent the traffic jam when you have an investigation in that place.(like calling for medic, coroner, backup, etc...) 11/10 for this combo mods.

I have a problem which I don't know why it is, I get this message when I enter the game.

I have the DLC installed, the gameconfig is good because I have many addon cars, the line in the dlclist file is well placed. @PNWParksFan

Double check that you have the DLC installed correctly, perhaps you edited dlclist.xml in the wrong place or something.

I use this beautiful and very effective "plugin" which gives serious realism to the LSPDFR game.

On the other hand, I'm annoyed, after searching the comments, I can't find an answer. When I put up a barrier or a band, my player cancels everything explained and throws a baseball XD (it makes me laugh by the way).

 

When I do "unloadplugin policetape" and a new "loadplugin policetape" it works, no more problems.
Here I am annoyed because of a baseball.

 

Are you explanation or solution for this ? Thank you

Love the mod I used to have it and it worked but I stopped lspdfr

I have come back a year later and installed it with lml and when ever I try to use it in game it crashes and makes my game go extremely slo-mo and unuseable.

Hello, it appears that the plugin is no longer working. I've done a fresh install with only police tape and lspdfr loaded to try and replicate errors/ find out what's causing the plugin to crash on startup. RPH Log is displaying this error during the crash, perhaps it will help some.
