Gameconfig.xml for LML or manual install by RDE Team 3751

(4 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This is the latest gameconfig.xml by @dilapidated, @PNWParksFan, and the RDE Team. A modified gameconfig is required for most add-on mods. We recommend installing this gameconfig using LML (Lenny's Mod Loader). If you are using LML, you can install this package using the Mod Manager, and it will load a working gameconfig.xml for the latest game version. You do not need to change the file in update.rpf, just load this package and you're ready to go.

You can also install this gameconfig manually by downloading the file, and copying gameconfig.xml from the "latest" folder to [mods]\update\update.rpf\common\data\

Please see our github repository for further information and faster updates after new game versions are released.

What's New in Version 3751

Released

Version 3751 is updated for the January 2026 update. Heap Adjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster are required.

This update changes the SCRIPT_XML value to fix compatibility for some script mods. No changes were required for the base GTA gameconfig.xml, as the only value that changed was fwDynamicArchetypeComponent which is already set to its max value in this gameconfig.

Short Description

gameconfig.xml package for LML or manual installation to enable add-on mods

This version of the gameconfig still works on the latest GTA version with no changes required.

Does it need to be updated for 2372?

I have not tested it yet on the latest game version but I expect an update will be required.

Mine is also experiencing this after the latest update. Then again though, I haven't found a single gameconfig that works since the Tuner update....

Hey @PNWParksFan, would you mind sharing how does this work if installed via LML? Is it loaded on runtime rather than modifying the update.rpf as we manually do, even if an existing mods folder is there?

Yes. It gets loaded dynamically by LML when the game launches, without actually touching any original game folders. You can of course download the gameconfig.xml file itself and install it the traditional way if you prefer.

Just wanted to understand, I’ll be suggesting to my viewers to use this method rather than modifying the mods folder, so that we can keep better order for other mods folder modifications. Thanks!

Better yet, just use LML to install everything and never touch a mods folder again! Makes getting back up and running after a game update so much faster, and easier to turn various mods on/off.

Will definitely try having all with LML and teaching how to use it, thanks again! 🙂

Same here. I think it might have a conflict with LML for some reason

Did you install via LML or manually? Any other mods installed?
