This is the latest gameconfig.xml by @dilapidated, @PNWParksFan, and the RDE Team. A modified gameconfig is required for most add-on mods. We recommend installing this gameconfig using LML (Lenny's Mod Loader). If you are using LML, you can install this package using the Mod Manager, and it will load a working gameconfig.xml for the latest game version. You do not need to change the file in update.rpf, just load this package and you're ready to go.

 

You can also install this gameconfig manually by downloading the file, and copying gameconfig.xml from the "latest" folder to [mods]\update\update.rpf\common\data\.

What's New in Version 3751

Released

Version 3751 is updated for the January 2026 update. Heap Adjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster are required.

 

This update changes the SCRIPT_XML value to fix compatibility for some script mods. No changes were required for the base GTA gameconfig.xml, as the only value that changed was fwDynamicArchetypeComponent which is already set to its max value in this gameconfig.

The "latest" folder contains the latest version, which is 2944. I provide a duplicate of the latest one in its specific version folder to make it easier to keep track of if people redownload the mod in the future. By default if you install with LML it will install the latest version as the resource.

    yes but the xml file doesn't state 2944 or latest as resources

    Issue is fixed now, you can redownload. But for future reference, yes you could edit the install.xml yourself.

    Hey gamers, I really need help here.

     

    Whenever I download the config (using LML obviously), the game always crashes on startup, because of memory allocation (ERR_MEM_EMBEDDEDALLOC_ALLOC, "Out of game memory. Please reboot and restart the game".) I DID download heap adjustor and pack limit adjustor, but that didn't help.

    Here are some details that ?might? help:

    • Fresh GTA install (steam), only LML and LSPDFR installed
    • Win 11, 64 bit
    • 32 gigs of ram

    + Scripthook V (.asi loader which is needed for the adjustors)

    Please help!!

    I suppose with the new update as of 25/06, game contents have been changed and as such this no longer works?

    Is there a difference between Gameconfigs uploaded by different authors? I see a few different ones that have been uploaded but I'm guessing they all do the same thing?

    There may be some slight differences. This gameconfig has a number of values added and tweaked that are not in the default gameconfig file but were discovered through reverse engineering. As a result it may perform better with complex mods like Coastal Callouts, RDE, etc. If you are just adding on a few vehicles it probably doesn't make much difference.

    Is there a reason this could be causing an out of memory crash issue? Wasn’t having any issues until installing the config via LML on the site.

    That is likely unrelated. make sure you've got heap adjuster installed.

    remove SSLA (if you have it) from your main directory if you have already updated it to the current version. It is broken.

    It just dosn't work anymore. I keep getting ERR_MEM_EMBEDDEDALLOC_ALLOC error.

     

    Installed it using LML + installed Heap Adjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster. 

     

    If I remove gameconfig, it works fine.
