LSPDFR

FLASHLIGHT OVERHAUL

1.2

made by FKDZ

TESTED WITH LSPDFR 0.4. Works for weapon attachements but not for the

custom flashlight animation included in 0.4, it uses its own custom flashlight texture.

**THANK YOU FOR THE 2000 DOWNLOADS!**

This mod is based on the flashlights used and seen
during the tv show ''Live PD''. This is a recreation but
not based on 100% accuracy for gameplay reasons.

I am no flashlight expert but the vanilla flashlight looked

like someone grabbed a kiddy nightlight from the early 90s

so here we are.

This flashlight is designed to have a strong centerpoint

to clearly see the target you are aiming at with a lesser

outer ring to show surroundings but not blind.

This mod touches the normal flashlight but also

all your attachment flashlights.

Screenshots were taken with ''Normal'' quality textures, a higher setting will obviously look even better.

============================================

Easy install instructions included in the readme file.

============================================

Depending on your visual setup the flashlight might appear different in your game (brighter/darker).

I currently play on the newest version of VisualV and Naturalvision 1.4

I know there is another mod called Flashlight 3.0 but I was not a fan of it personally, it was too overpowered/long range and lacked a nice torch texture, therefore..my mod.

Thank you for downloading, please enjoy

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recommendations for different types of flashlights are welcome (do provide reference images)
What's New in Version 1.2
Released
             1.2 Includes a new flashlight that is optimized for 3rd person use only. The dot is now as centered as it can be, the only way to do this was by offsetting the center dot. So if you easily get annoyed by something that is not perfectly in the center its probably not for you, but its subtle though, try it.
The mod now includes a folder in which you can chose a 1st person or 3rd person texture. Just simply replace it in your graphics.ytd, nothing else needed to be done.
It's really hard to get it perfect because of FOV, bobbing, movement of the player and distance so I've optimized it for about shooting at 5-10 meters (close quarters). (You wont really use a flashlight dot for long range anyways).
    I'm guessing you'd need to use archive fix for this, because it replaces  game files from the main directory (which FiveM can have troubles with)
    For anyone who can't find there "graphics.ytd" I used the following path and it works fine in game (from what I've noticed at least) mods > x64a.rpf > textures
    Yeah that should work too, I thought that having a graphics.ytd in the update.rpf was normal, but I must have forgot and it should go into x64a.rpf for people that have not modded their update.rpf yet. Thanks! I've updated the file with better instructions now. The case for me was VisualV adds the graphics.ytd there, and I forgot about that and assumed it was normal.
    Firstly awesome mod. Although I have an issue with using it with the pistol, Don't know if it's just me or you know GTA, GTAing. It's not bright and doesn't line up to where it should be pointing. Don't know if there is a fix for that or not.
    Can you show me a screenshot of it not being bright? Because it has the same brightness as the original flashlight, just a different design. Or it might be that your visual mod or what not is keeping the brightness down, then you could go to the ''weaponcomponents.meta'' in ''update.rpf'', and edit the ''MainLightIntensity'' to something that works for you.
    About the flashlight not being lined up with the reticule, GTA V never actually made the flashlight line up with your reticle in the first place. You can see this for yourself by aiming down the sights in first person mode because then it does line up. It's kinda annoying but so far I haven't found a way around it. If anyone knows how to offset the projection of the under barrel flashlight in third person I'd love to know.
    I could offset the centerpoint and center it for third person but then first person mode players would complain 😉
    My game started to crash on the loading screen after I tried to install this. I installed everything via the mods folder and followed your instructions perfectly in the readme. The only divergence was that I installed the torch texture in update/update.rpf/x64/textures/graphics.ytd but had not modified that before; however, it was already in my /mods/ folder.
    Any suggestions to get my game working again?
    This files included in this mod are not able to cause game crashes unless you placed them in a incorrect location. It could be your game just crashed randomly, try starting your game again 1-2 more times. Sometimes GTA V just likes to crash.
    Do we have confirmation yet that it's 0.4 compatible? His comment worries me, considering.
    It's 0.4 compatible, although I haven't taken the time to test it yet with the new animations. His comment is simply a user error, as you can see other users are able to use this mod perfectly fine (so am I)
    thanks for the awesome mod,  adds another layer of detail to my patrols, just wondering i saw your previous comment  about the center of the light not lining up with third person  reticule,would it be possible to create a version where it lines up with third person reticule, so then you could have a first and third person version?
    Yeah, I've had that idea in mind as well. I'm currently working on that as the flashlight not lining up also annoys me  😉
    @PGRedux New version is up with a 3rd person option, check it out!
    What visual mods do you use and did you install the .meta files correctly? Make a screenshot if you can.
    I don't really play in first person but I tested out the flashlight and it seems to work? Only I need to aim it to shine it on the ground otherwise my character points the flashlight in the sky. Which is weird. But, it works if you aim.
    I use MVGA which makes night time insanely dark. So, when I do a traffic stop at night, I like to switch over to first person and us the flash light - something that I'm currently unable to do with 0.4.2. Thanks for the info - I'll give it a go shortly.
    I'm not the most experienced with exactly where to edit things but is there a way to make the regular handheld flashlight shine as far as the attachments do? Gun attachments work beautifully and I am super thrilled! The handheld has the texture and brightness from this mod but only shines about 10 feet ahead. Maybe I missed a step in the instructions or is this mod not supposed to change the handhelds range? I also wish I knew how to get rid of the ugly blinding haze from the handheld when in first person
    Edit: I'd also just like to give thanks for the mod. A seemingly small change makes such a big difference in immersion!
    Edit number 2: .. scratch like all of that about the handheld. When it was said that the mphalloween file wasn't required in 0.4, I didn't realize it was actually the fix to all of my handheld issues. Handheld now also works just as beautifully!
    Im crashing while loading into the game. The loading page doesnt even appear, its a black screen then RPH crashes. I installed it 3 times already to try to ensure i did it correctly but im still crashing.
    Edit: I download three mods and installed them all before running the game. This was one of the mods, unfortunately i dont know which one caused the crashes.
    Even if i uninstall the mods i continue to crash, my guess is that i corrupted some files. Help would be appreciated
    Why is my regular flashlight and attachment flashlight different? Can someone tell me the link in OpenIV to the attachment flashlight or how to make them the same.
    So your mod cannot change the custom flashlight from LSPDFR 0.4. May I know where can I change it's visual settings?
