Definitively a good thing! I remember sitting and watching training videos where they would shoot car doors with a .22 LR pistol and it would go completely through (of course there's always a chance it hits a cross support) but it was "eye opening" to say the least!

I believe all of Yakadafi's models were released locked. He's done with modeling but maybe he'll release some of his stuff unlocked.

A texture edit, so that it displays the correct graphics you wish displayed (ie; non NYPD, and with K-9 markings). Checkout my friend Lonestranger's tutorial

Yakadafi (EVI) made 2 Ford Expedition models which will be the closest thing you'll find, both are slicktops. You can find the 2005 model below, but you will need to edit the texture to get it closer to what you want. http://www.gtagaming...icle-mods/13764

Don't worry the caprice is being worked on by another modeler here, and I had heard rumblings of one being converted by GPM also.

As stated above always whenever modifying the original game make backups. I see no problems installing over other car mods, I've done it many times without any issues

Best bet might be to download OpenIV and use cp702's tutorial here:

I'm a little confused with your post, but are you using SparkIV or OpenIV to add a new vehicle/texture? If not you will want to d/l one or both of these programs then use Youtube to search for a good tutorial to show you exactly step by step what to do (whether you want to replace an entire model or just textures on a specific model)

Use the techniques found in this vehicle tutorial You'll want to export the textures you want to change. Then use that as your template to work off of. If you're replacing patches/badges stay to the original size as much as possible or you'll get a stretched look in game. You can use OpenIV to preview the texture on your model without having to load the game each time to test. Also keep in mind you are only modifying the texture and not the model itself. So whatever limitations the model has you're stuck with. This is one of the reasons I'm working on new police ped models. That should get you started in the right direction.
