I think he's mainly looking for people to test quality. What he might think looks amazing, someone else might think looks really bad. Makes sense since everyone is complaining about the amount of low-quality textures being uploaded.

Not sure about the problem, but instead of turning off your computer, hold down CTRL and ALT then press DEL (or Delete, whatever it is on your keyboard). Then click on "Start Task Manager." It should bring you to the desktop with the task manager open. On the "Applications" tab of the task manager, click on "Grand Theft Auto IV" (or whatever it says for GTA IV). Then click on "End Task."

SMPA 60 is pretty much always caused by modded cars. The problem usually is that there is a missing object in the car's files. It's best to install one car at a time and test it. If it happens without any modded cars or with every single car you install, then I don't know. ELS is also a major contributor to crashing. If you go to ELS.ini in your GTA IV directory (if you do use ELS) and change the option that enables ELS on AI cars (not sure of the exact line, don't have GTA IV on this computer) from "1" to "0" that will reduce crashing immensely, but in return disables ELS on AI cars. That means the AI will not be able to turn the lights on, only sirens. Even if you have non-ELS cars in for the AI slots (mainly police1 and police2), do this.

The last time I tried downloading it, it only downloaded half the mod. It said the file it downloaded was 2 GB, when the snow mod is actually 4 GB. Not sure why.

hm..that's really strange. The only thing I can think of is that a certain model is spawning as a building texture. Like with the first aid kit, for some reason it's loading as a suitcase. Maybe a different model is loading as a building..lol. Have you reinstalled?

Dammit Abraxas, it's killing me reading about all these awesome features and not being able to play :/ (Away from a PC with GTA IV on it). Basically, low-poly = low qualtiy, high-poly = high quality. I'm not sure on the specifics, but I'm guessing it refers to the amount of polygons the car has.

Depends on the quality of the mods...in general, the answer would be yes it slows it down. But, if you stick to low-poly cars, then it won't slow down as much.

Yeah, even the "Next Gen" consoles can't even match up to a good PC. They are making the PS4 more like a gaming PC, but you can still get better quality PC's. For example, PS4 will have 8 GB of RAM. The standard amount of RAM for gaming PCs is pretty much 8 GB now, moving on to 16 GB, even as far as 32 and 64.

Based on the description, I'm guessing it's based on NFS The Run? I've never played it, but I'm pretty sure that's what the story line is.

That's part of the LCPDFR script...you press Shift to pull them over, then you follow the on-screen instructions.

Also, this game is supposed to take place in, what, 2035? So technically, if we have those vehicles now, and we keep using them until then, it makes sense for them to be improved in the game.

No, you can set it so the AI use ELS or not. Whether or not they can use it doesn't affect what extras load. Edit: I also just added that extension and took off "ext_requi," but when I spawn cars with the trainer, they still have random lights on. Not sure about cars spawned in traffic.

Actually...yes that makes sense. Since on ELS cars the only extras assigned to "Extras" slots are the lights, that command would work. What it does is tell the game to only load extras on that car when a script tells it to, and ELS would be that script.
