A critical component of all these scenes of kids running wild like little Vikings is that they have no discipline, or respect for their parents. Twenty- thirty years ago, smacking or slapping kids if they misbehaved was widely practiced, and by and large kids of my generation learned to never f*ck around in public and to earn whatever we got. What with all this 'its cruel' and 'let them express themselves as kids' BS floating around, I always hate to see the inevitable self-entitled brats crying because their mom won't buy them GTA (what the hell are they doing playing it at that age anyway?) or yelling at people in Mcdonalds because they cut his toast into squares and not triangles. My outlook is that parents need to start acting like parents again and stop expecting the state to nanny their children.

And people wonder why I hate kids...

-Drive around looking for hookers to kill. -steal a Pimp's car. -Go on a rampage and kill hillbillies. -Drive home in stolen car, turn on computer and play GTA V.

Tbh, I think this 'career' style of play would be more suited to a successor mod in GTA V (lspdfr) because of practical reasons: By default, there are rank patches and vehicle modifications already implemented, so rank-based play would be possible. A much more diverse selection of agencies to play as -sheriffs, FIB etc. with their specific callouts for that career. Actual interiors for stations, FIB building etc. where your character can buy upgrades/vehicles. Specific callouts for armed response ranks would be possible, as armor clothing is in there by default.

Strange thing happened in this sale; for me at least, there were no 'BOOM! THIS GAME IS AMAZING DISCOUNT BUY IT NOW!' offers. Pretty much every game in the 'top selling' charts I owned already. Still, at least my wallet can recover for a week or so until the January sales start.

Money for me, as I can just get what I want once the discounts start. Much better than the usual socks and misplaced ideas of what I like.

Just throwing some ideas out there. If anybody with scripting experience wants to have a go, we can give feedback here.

What I was thinking was that you have to maintain contact with a certain area- the left rear wheel for two seconds, then the script would kick in and disable the suspect's engine. Also, to avoid this happening to every car i think the script would have to recognize the suspect's AI 'enemy' tag to only affect that car.

We've all been there: in game, you're in a pursuit, you pull off a perfect spin on the offending vehicle, and as you pull out to force the perp out of the car, he simply spins around and drives off again. To get around this, I've been thinking of an addon script which could add a certain probability (50% to 55%) of the suspect's car engine failing to every time you ram or spin it out. This would make actual PIT manouvers possible in-game and end a huge annoyance that I'm sure every PDFR player has felt at some point. Is this type of 'apply this probability to destroy engine to this vehicle if it hits another vehicle' possible in IV's scripting engine?

Whilst I don't condone hatred based on beliefs, I do think that these marches could be the start of the global backlash against religion, as it's one of the things holding the human race back from progress.

Games for Windows Live doesn't work fine...

To a degree, it is almost certain that the CIA and other agencies knew about an attack. They let it happen, to exploit the public anger as an excuse for Middle-eastern intervention, at a stroke appeasing the military-industrial complex and gaining huge oil leases at a bargain. Also, while I'm on the subject... documentary footage revealed through debris examination that the support struts on some of the towers had been deliberately sabotaged (cut at an angle) to ensure the building went down. Buildings like the WTC are reinforced to withstand huge amounts of force... a single airplane crash in the mid-tower wouldn't do much to the structure's supports, it would certainly remain standing if the supports were undamaged- so either through sabotage, strategically placed explosives or other nefarious methods there was definitely some strange shit going down that day.

One improvement that's beneficial for realism is tactics- i.e. cops in IV would just rush you and get killed instantly, but now in V they use cover much more often and seem to use group advances and cover tactics (at least from what I've seen when AI cops are fighting the AI Ballas in Grove Street. They use hand signals and drag injured cops into cover too I think. Also, the pursuit AI is much improved, and there seems to be a Lead cruiser system going on there. One criticism I do have is that even though they have batons and tasers they never use them, and an AI arrest for peds would have been good (it is a parody of excessive force, but there's still a need for realism)

I don't condone porn - partly because it objectifies performers, and it's a taboo industry- but it is just a natural part of growing up. Trying to stifle producers can push an already underground industry into the Earth's core, and this could push performers into prostitution. As far as addiction goes, one of the best ways to avoid porn is putting a filter on porn sites yourself, for your own good.

doesn't France have any backup coal power plants or turbines for energy? I would have thought that in this scenario, a backup electrical source could be used.

I have an idea you could implement- maybe one suspect has a human shield in the middle of the street, and you need to get a sniper rifle to snipe him from a distance. That would be a huge difference from other callouts.

So you can show a guy getting his nuts ripped off and fed through a grinder, but as soon as a snippet of nipple comes on screen it's immediately banned...

For one thing, we probably wouldn't be here typing this out on a PC, as without WW2 there would be no Enigma machine, so no Turing calculations, so along the line computers wouldn't exist as we know them, but probably still Fridge-size punch card machines. Also, we wouldn't have the Israel/Palestine conflict, as Israel wouldn't formally exist. Plus, without much of the economic disasters Germany and the axis suffered as a result of the loss of the wars, A strong German/Austria-Hungary empire would still exist (And maybe a British empire would still be around too) so a war between these would be almost inevitable.

This is plausible, seeing as the Mission Row police station has fully modeled but inaccessible cells in the basement (in the lastgen version of the game this area wasn't loaded in the game, but the cells were there. In the new gen version it's probably included, as the new Online character selector takes place in a police station cells area. All you'd need in this case is a script to spawn you in the cells and a timer counting down (based on wanted level- 1 star= 30 secs, 2 star 1 min etc.) to go along with this, i'd like a script where you can surrender in a wanted level rather than getting shot. every. single. time. Maybe in it you could use the new cuffing/ entering back of police car animations to get transported to the cells.

Those 'clear the area' quotes... they could be used in a large 'civil disturbance' type callout, that would be great!
