calm down people, at the very least its a very vague look at what you can sort-of expect if a mod does get made for V.

Really, the most appropriate date for release is the 1-year anniversary, September 17. However, there is quite a big gap in game releases in October, which could be a possible date. I would be happy with a November release date if it allows them extra time to polish the PC version into the best it can be, hopefully without any Uber-oppressive DRM or bad porting issues. Considering Max Payne 3's port which was based on the same engine, It shouldn't be too shabby this time around.

I think we're forgetting the obvious fact here- R* aren't so dumb that they think that people will be happy with just the Vanilla game, they know that 75% or more of people who bought IV wanted it just for the mods. Releasing a GTA game with tighter-than-tight file encryption and impossible modding just doesn't make sense- it would be financial suicide. I am in favor of having 2 .exe's for singleplayer and Online tho, that would greatly simplify the whole issue- they can mess around with the Online all they like, Singleplayer will be the only one I'm gonna use.

Without police and the Control over the populace they bring, a lot of countries without an effective military that could act as law enforcement would definitely regress back to an almost Victorian society- Highwaymen on motorbikes, armed gangs pillaging and raping like Vikings, Pirate ports, gangs of Fagin-esque pickpockets etc. One only needs to look at the world before effective LEO agencies to get the picture. The rule of Law is one of the things that make Human Beings different from animals- we have control over our actions, and therefore we have a shared sense of right and wrong- a sense of property, therefore stealing should be punished, etc. The world before effective public order, policing and the right to trial with a jury was a rough place- a lot of petty crimes, like stealing an apple for example, were punishable by death. And believe me, should law agencies just stop operating instantly, History will repeat itself- within a week there would essentially be a Real-life version of the movie The Purge on our streets. That is something I think everyone here agrees shouldn't happen. And that's why Cops are needed, kids. Anyone who says otherwise is probably a whining keyboard warrior hiding behind their 13-year-old false bravado.

This is absolutely ridiculous- the ingame character of Lacey Jonas, promo artwork etc. all show what could be any number of Hollywood celebrities, whether real or made-up.The only real reason Lohan wants the money is so that she can have something to snort for the next year or so.

***PROBLEM SORT-OF FIXED*** I had LCPDFR and related mods -policehelper etc. In the end I had to let Steam verify the game cache, which fixed the original IV, but I just couldn't figure out what was crashing EFLC. The only thing i could do is delete it and DL it again if I want to play it.

Hi all, This is a weird problem I've been having all of a sudden- GTA IV and standalone EFLC have both worked well with several script mods installed for months, with no issues whatsoever. But suddenly both the original game AND EFLC just don't work- they crash just after the loading slideshow and the 'loading-story complete' part of the loading screen. This seems to have happened only since this morning tho- last night It worked fine until it crashes 40+ mins in as always (yes, I'm looking at you R*). The thing is I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it- last time this happened I replaced my savegame files and that fixed it, but the trick doesn't work for this. I've deleted my Settings.cfg file, but no luck. Anyone got any tips on how to fix this mysterious error?

It would be a good thing to see him break out into a performance of 'I'm so Ronery' midway through a speech about nuclear weapons tho.

the worst thing about this is that its a political stalemate; Kim Jong-Un can only keep making these ridiculous claims as long as the West is friends with China- if the west were to wade in to NK and pretty much instantly kick his midget ass into the stratosphere, China would complain about having a Western spy government on its doorstep, and there would be economic trouble resulting from that. props to that bank robbery callout idea- in addition you could have a Museum robbery, maybe even a Prison transport breakout attempt, or a Armed car holdup.

things I want in Police Tactics a proper Station interior where you can interact with objects- computers, jail cells, files, chairs etc. calling for backup and Spikestrips etc. like in LCFR off-duty mode where you can drive around etc. maintaining patrol car in garage leveling up character with progression, unlocking different skills etc. character appearance customisation a good melee fighting system

I don't mind location really, but the time setting has to be different.. i'm thinking Vice-city era '80s or maybe even earlier- we could have Liberty City '79 or '75, maybe another GTA London '65. Hell, another near-future GTA 2-set game would be cool.

Sorry, my bad :P but what im trying to say is that, since mods are already being made and used on console, useable mods should pop up sooner than when IV came out.

point taken, but im just a little concerned that Rockstar may implement some sort of Bulls**t DRM that makes modding too hard. It'l probably be moddable to an extent, just like IV, but not until a proper Scripthook is made. i give it three days after release until that happens tho :) then that will probably open the floodgates to mods that'l let you play as Spongebob or a 500 foot tall Godzilla or whatever (and hopefully LSPDFR too!)

Most updates for GTA Online/Single player will probably break a lot of mods/trainers, much like GTA IV broke some mods when it moved from patch 1.0.4 to 1.0.7

How to Allow Mods on GTA 5 pc download from steam. right click, go to Properties--'Update settings'. select 'Do not automatically update this game'. install mods. Profit.

I know, but it could be an Extremely rare callout, or perhaps a script plugin if you don't want it. one thing that could tie into it could be a Hostage negotiation ability, where you could phone the suspects and see what their demands are.

guys, i've had a great idea! now that we have enter-able skyscrapers with multi-floor large interiors and breakable windows, we could have Die Hard-style hostage situations on the upper floors of the skyscrapers- we could play SWAT guys rappeling down the building from choppers and smashing through the windows like you do in the FIB Hostage abduction mission. that would be AWESOME!

i think V will be about the same difficulty as IV to mod, seeing as its just a more advanced version of the same engine, and people have already coded trainers and scripts for the console versions already (cars firing missiles etc.) there are tons of Mod videos on youtube already. animations-wise, has anyone dug in the .Anim files for V for any cop animations yet? it would be amazing to have a Tackle to the ground animation for cops to chase guys. My feature wishlist everything we already have in LCPDFR ported over actual ingame animations for grabbing suspects and placing them in cars (they exist, they can be seen in random events ingame) tackle and ground arrest moves (hopefully?). pilotable Helicopter cam for chases ( the coding for this exists, you use it in one of the story missions) rappeling from choppers as SWAT or Evac in the mountains (i think this could probably be done, rappeling code for players exist) Park patrol as Forest Rangers callouts Highway patrol pursuits. calling for spikestrips, the same way that Roadblocks are called in IV maybe modifying the Mission Row station so we can actually access the rooms seen through door windows? being able to select vehicles from the Impound Garage in mission row (this could be where you select your sqaud car/partner) being able to get Body armor and shotguns from car trunk/shotgun racks in car doors (the AI cops do this) traffic that doesn't make a pileup on the freeway when you pull someone over like they do in IV (roads and Traffic AI are bigger/better in V so this shouldnt be a problem) being able to interact with civilians using Y/N or arrows on Xbox controller, like in the main game.
