  1. Thanks! :) I'm going for a 1980s NYPD look in GTA IV at the moment and having the lightbars in the proper color would be sweet.
  2. Looking good as always, Strike! :D - Question for you; would it be possible to change the lightbar color of Ceril's LTD Crown Vic to match the NYPD's aerodynic?
  3. It appears the more prevalent template is cj24's with the Driver San Francisco CVPI; I'd go with that.
  4. Police vehicles are indeed generally faster; the civilian model of the Crown Victoria is limited to about 110MPH whereas the CVPI is limited closer to 130MPH I believe.
  5. Agreed with Slimory; I use the DSF model because of its ability to run more smoothly in game. There are two templates out for it; Sgt Kanyo's DSF CVPIs still use BxBugs' template, and then there is cj24's template which is used on the majority of newer DSF CVPIs.
  6. Take your time; the mere fact that your using your personal time to craft these things for us is impressive in itself. Hope you do well! :3
  7. Kanyo, is there any chance of getting a proper handling line for Ceril's excellent 1989 LTD Crown Victoria? - There is no handling line currently and with the advised use of gfxle's 83 Impala handling line the vehicle flips at high speeds and does not maneuver well.
  8. That's correct on the Street Appearance Package bit; discreet antennas as well. Thanks for the recommendation; I've been meaning to check out auctions here as well as around neighboring states [Pennsylvania, Maryland, NJ, etc] to find one - I also have family down south and may have access to nicer LX models there as well.
  9. I currently use a Cooler Master GX 650W in my build for a power supply; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171052&Tpk=Cooler%20Master%20GX%20650w As for graphics card, anything above about a 550 for Nvidia or a 6500+ for AMD should be good and last you awhile.
  10. I would assume so; I've seen three Tauruses recently, two in black and one in a light blue colorscheme not dissimilar to what was offered with the CVPI. They all are unmarked and relatively new at that. The Charger is very nice, though its relatively small trunk when compared to the Taurus and Caprice will possibly be its downfall. And awesome at the actual ownership of a Crown Vic; I hope to get one sometime in the near future.
  11. No problem, and good luck! :D I'm not all that well versed when it comes to AMD processors and their builds. I do know, however, that the graphics card in there will eventually need an upgrade as it is an older card. The power supply will also need to be upgraded; 450W simply isn't enough to run that kind of setup.
  12. I've used ELS since I began to mod GTA IV and I never had any problems with the game crashing because I fired upon an ELS car. The repairing isn't all that bad either as with the standard lighting system it is nearly impossible to drive well enough to have your vehicle attain minimal damage. This, coupled with the fact that ELS isn't only limited to red white and blue like the default system is, does indeed make its use all that much better. Also, haven't seen all that many Georgia State Patrol textures or vehicles around.

  14. You have to put ELS in the root folder of your GTA IV installation, not the scripts folder.
  15. As well as their Impalas; the Impalas seem much more prevalent in the outer boroughs when compared to the abundance of CVPIs in Manhattan. All cars will eventually be replaced of course; the CVPI stopped production on Sept 15, 2011 and the Impala has been redesigned while GM pushes the Caprice for police duty. If any car would run forever with the proper maintenance, the Crown Victoria would be one of them. You'd be hard pressed to kill a member of Ford's panther platform. Also, saw one up my block the other day; being that it was unoccupied I got to gawk at it for quite some time and snap a few photos including the one below - a beauty for sure, especially up close and in person.

  17. Great job as always, Strike! :D - Any chance you could retexture the lightbar to have the clear/red look of the NYPD; I'm not sure if Ceril is too busy for it.
  18. Beautiful work on this; it looks great.
  19. Really good job, though I'm having a bit of a small problem in TBoGT; the black cop has the hispanic cop's voice and the hispanic cop has the hispanic traffic cop's voice.
  20. So far I've seen multiple unmarked NYPD Tauruses around, as well as a few Port Authority Caprices. I have yet to see a 2011+ Charger though.
  21. The 2013 Taurus PPV isn't half bad - it seems to be rather well suited to the task at hand, more so than the Charger and Caprice in my opinion. The inclusion of a column-mounted gearshift and AWD are bonuses though. The only things really missing are body-on-frame construction and RWD. With all of that said, I will still always love the CVPI; it simply cannot be matched in legacy, looks, or longevity.
  22. Absolutely beautiful, Strike - though I'm sure you know that by now. :D
