  1. Windows 8 has already been causing some issues for people when they want to play IV, the game fails to start and throws up a securom error which could normally be easily fixed in other operating systems like 7 and vista. However, there is a way. 1. Follow the steps here: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=534929 2. As stated by LCPD-74 in a previous thread, you need to do the following: Head onto your Control Panel and uninstall "GFWL Redistribute and Marketplace" Once done, download the newer version from here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/downloadclient Once installed, run the game as an administrator and it should work. 2. We've got nothing on our awaiting review list
  3. Try pressing Shift+Enter when the game has loaded. When pressed in San Andreas, it puts the game into a windowed mode. It might be the same for IV.

  5. That mod manages to somehow make my system lag, only slightly however. I do wish to play it online, but some people I play it with simply cannot load the mod.
  6. Apparently this was given a one star. I'm not fussed, but if you're not interested in the tutorial, just click away.
  7. Right, this has turned into a flame war. I'm locking this. Everyone needs to calm down. Nothing to see here! This topic has been closed by G17 Media staff. If you feel that this topic has been closed in error, please report this post.
  8. No, it won't. Think of how many units each GTA game sells in its average lifespan. Now look at how many have signed that petition, its not enough. Simply saying "Because we want it on PC" won't cut it, Rockstar WILL release it on PC just like they have with all other GTA's.
  9. 32 players all using high-poly car packs and ELS / LCPDFR? I'm sorry, but you'll get about five minutes of solid gameplay. IV is very crash prone online and it just adds insult to injury when you have that many people using those mods at once. Even so, Good luck with it, hope it goes well.
  10. In the UK, every officer who wishes to drive a marked or unmarked car is given that course.

  12. I highly recommend it. Its like a Burnout Paradise 2. Tons of fun.
  13. I can fully agree on this point. I bought NFS Most Wanted on PC the other day and it was such an uneeded hassle. Instead installing normally, EA pushed its fat ass in the way. When you click "install" it actually launches the shitty spyware Origin which THEN starts "copying from disc" which takes a god awful amount of time, then it installs the files it copied over from the disc, rendering the point for the disc absolutely useless. Then it took a good half hour to actually get the damn thing to load, Origin has shitty customer support (probably because its by EA), the phone lines are expensive and the live chat doesn't even work. I miss the old days where you could pop a disc into your drive, install it and play within 30 minutes, none of this external shit.

  16. The only game I've recently pirated was the new need for speed, I wasn't sure if my system could run it due to its stunning lighting system.. Turns out, it can. So I removed it, went out and bought a disc copy to support the developers. Haven't looked back since, I love it. The online is fantastic.

  20. Contrary to what people have said about Vista, I hated it. I'd had it on my PC for a good two years and it had slowly started to kill itself off, literally. Explorer would restart randomly After a while, I couldn't access control panel It deleted all the themes, leaving me with the classic one I'd did a full scan for any viruses / malware, found nothing. Took it to a shop, found out that Vista had somehow corrupted itself. It forced me to upgrade to an illegal copy of Windows 7 which I only had for a few days as I went and bought the actual disc. (I only needed the pirated copy so I could still get my work done for college) 7 Has been wonderful on my current system (Old one finally died and yes, this copy of WIN7 is legal). Vista was the part of my computing history that I wish I'd never experienced.
  21. I highly doubt it'll be on the Wii U Nintendo has always been a family gamer, hence how their DS and Wii consoles haven't sold as well as the competition due to the fact they lack any proper good games.
  22. In light of the new poll, I'd only ever upgrade to 8 if PC games stopped supporting it through means of DirectX or just simple incompatibility with the OS. But that won't be for another 10 years or so. XP is still going strong, barely. So I'm happy with 7.
