Fav Police Cars?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, since there are a lot of new generation police cars out these days...

What is your favorite police car? Please give a brief explanation on why you love it.

I don't like any of the new gen police cars. Mine is either the CVPI and the Tahoe. I love the CVPI because it looks fierce to me. It looks very intimidating and I love that. When you see a CVPI, its either a senior or a cop where I live. I love the Tahoe because it looks so sexy. Ever since they came out with the new body style, I fell in love. I love how the trunk looks and how the headlights look.

Those are my two favorite, what is yours?

I would also say the Crown Vic. A lot of the cops around here drive motorcycles but I prefer the CVPI. It's pretty spooky to have one behind you especially at night because I can just recognize the headlights of the Crown Vic even when its pitch black outside.

I don't have one single favorite, but rather several ones that I'm quite fond of.

1990 Chevrolet Caprice
(I have a third generation (1977–1990) Caprice in my avatar. It conjures up memories of old "hood films" (which I'm quite fond of); cops in those films usually rolled around in these babies.)

1996 Chevrolet Caprice

(In my younger days, the fouth generation (1991–1996) Caprice was all over the TV and the movies, so it'll always remind me of the good ol' days.)

1997 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor

(In my younger days, the first generation (1992-1997) CVPI was the one I saw the most on the streets so I'll always have a soft spot for it.)

(Last, but not least! I'm going to miss these Panther babies. They'll probably be the last body-on-frame V8 cop car for decades to come.)

The CVPI is my favourite US police car. But there are some fine european cars as well, for example the Mercedes E-class some german police departments use:
