liberto reacted to massi8769 in [Community Work] POLICE_SCANNER DictionaryI will finish it. Have a full list of the audio files.
[Edit]
List is now "complete".
For some audio files i could not figure out the actual sound. Those are marked with a ?.

"We have, a suspect resisting arrest, in...". - Random callout
Tired of these kind of run & gun callouts? Me too. Well, they are fun sometimes, but I wanted to have more police work to do, like finding a suspect matching a description (aka BOLO), conduct investigations, etc.
You may know Repeat Offender, which was made by FinKone. Well, my callout pack will go along those lines also.
As this is my first callout pack, I don't think it'll be as detailed as FinKone's one, but fear not: I'm putting a lot of effort to have something fun and realistic to play with.
Currently ongoing
shoplifting (just started)
Main scenario
A shopkeeper just called the police for a shoplifting attempt. He will transmit all the details he knows about the suspect, and the last seen location (most likely the shop itself). These pieces of information will be golden to find the suspect, since there will be not blips at all. Only a rough search area.
However fear not, if you have some difficulties, you'll be able to send a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) to a nearby officer, so that he'll help you finding the criminal.
Once you find someone matching the description, you'll have to conduct your investigation, frisk him, or whatever else you need to do to make a stronger case against him. Maybe he's also just someone looking like the suspect.
You'll have to find out. But be careful, the suspect may be aggressive and/or armed.
API integration
I am planning to "integrate" the following plugins, so that the callouts have a more realistic feeling:
- LSPDFR Computer+
- Search Warrant (for the frisking part)
- Traffic Policer for possible alcohol/drug tests
- Maybe VocalDispatch

For now, there's only one callout, but I will most likely add new ones in the future. Feel free to voice your ideas or what you want to see as well :)

liberto got a reaction from hightower223 in [WIP] LSPDFR+, British Policing Script's International Sister ModificationReally excited to see this! :)
One thing I would like is having actual IDs showed on screen. For instance, the driving license, with the picture of the ped, etc.
Which lets you check everything is in order manually (date of validity, corresponds to the insurance paper, etc etc).
It's a bit like in the videogame "papers please". Of course I'm aware this may not be possible, but something along those lines would be pretty cool :)
Edit: just checked out "ticket time" which was mentionned above. That's exactly what I was explaining :p

It requires a List of UIMenu instances, you have to add the same UIMenuSwitchMenusItem instance to all the menus you added and to know the current menu, use UIMenuSwitchMenusItem.CurrentMenu, I recommend to use this to make the menus visible, making a different menu from the current one can cause some issues.

liberto reacted to Cantwell in [WIP] MundaneCalloutsI like the sounds of this! Low priority calls make the high priority ones that much more fun.
Some callout suggestions:
Noise Complaint - Person shooting fireworks, or having a party (which you have to disperse) Disturbance - People loitering in area, shouting or just standing (disperse them) Drug Complaint - people smoking weed under a bridge/on street Offender Compliance Check - visit the home of a parolee/person out on bail to ensure they are complying with their conditions. Neighbor Dispute - Neighbors arguing (break it up) Mischief - Person/people causing damage to property (breaking fences, denting cars, etc) Alarms - Residential / Commercial automatic entry alarms (most likely false, but possible to find B&E) Emotionally Disturbed Person - Person acting odd (ranges from shouting nonsense to being suicidal) Backup Officer: Sovereign Citizen - Person refusing to show identification on traffic stop / other call (arrest or talk him into showing ID) Criminal Harassment - Victim has been receiving harassing phone calls/messages from a person (go talk to the suspect and deal with it accordingly). Trespassing - Person walking on private property (find out why they are there and remove them). Taxi Dispute - Cabbie and customer in argument about fare / person refusing to pay (determine who's correct and deal with it) Assist Security Agency - Security has a person in custody (help them investigate and lay a charge if necessary) Person Refusing to Leave - Manager of store wants police to help remove an unruly customer. Missing Person - Person is missing (have description of person, talk to people in area to locate) Traffic Hazard - There is debris on the road that is dangerous to motorists (remove from roadway or direct traffic until the city can remove the hazard. Protest - There is a group gathered protesting (make sure it remains peaceful and traffic continues to flow). Stolen Bicycle - A person has woken up to find his bike missing (gather info and see if you can locate it). Welfare Check - Family member concerned for well being of relative (go to address and see if they're okay). Suspicious Occurrence - Caller says there is a person in a car/on foot that has been watching a residence / circling the block for a while (locate and identify their intentions). Hope this gives you some ideas! Good luck on coding - I cant wait to see the finished product

liberto got a reaction from BuddaRocks in [Community Work] POLICE_SCANNER DictionaryHello officers, players, whatevers (for the rhyme),
I'm kinda new on the LSPDFR dev scene (just started my first callout at the start of the week), and I'm really wanting to help this great community so that we may have even better plugins/callouts in the future.
Also, please bear with my english, I'm not a native speaker.
Common issue
Many of us feel the need to incorporate audio files to improve the immersion of the player (Police Scanner, if you hear me ). I, myself, have that need.
Now, as you may already know, there is a TON of sounds in the GTA game files, and those are poorly named (0x651095260 and so on).
My contribution
So, instead of all devs spending tons of hours searching for the right sound, which might be already used by other plugins without them to know (hence wasting a lot of time for the dev, and crunching his motivation sometimes), I wanted to regroup our efforts by maintaining a... drum roll... POLICE_SCANNER Dictionary! (Yay!)
The concept
Very. Simple.
I've copied/pasted all .awc names from the police_scanner package in Google Sheets. For each .awc file, you have one or more .wav file(s). Next to it, you'll find the actual sound, and a comment if needed.
I've already started to populate some cells, but I clearly can't do this alone, as there is a huge amount of files there.
We need you!

liberto got a reaction from BeastyBill88 in [WIP] LSPDFR+, British Policing Script's International Sister ModificationNot really related to traffic stops, but if there is a way to avoid dismissing backup units that are on scene once you have arrested the suspect, that would be cool (or for instance backup units stay on scene until you hit a particular button that dismisses them all).
I mean, for now, as soon as you arrest the ped, every cop is getting in their car and drive off (running you over at the same time :p ). This particular behaviour means that there is no real "crime scene", since you are left alone right away and kills the immersion a bit.
Same happens when you call for a backup during a traffic stop btw (with the LSPDFR backup system). The cop stops, gets out of the car, walk, and then drive off.
Just my 2 cents :)

liberto reacted to Albo1125 in [WIP] LSPDFR+, British Policing Script's International Sister ModificationLSPDFR+ - Enhanced Traffic Stops - Court System - Pursuit Improvements
Download:
LSPDFR+ is currently a work in progress. It is a script modification designed to give LSPDFR a slightly richer experience. This is done by overhauling certain LSPDFR features, like the Traffic Stop system, while retaining LSPDFR's basic controls (minimal extra keys required) and smoothness. LSPDFR+ is basically a collection of features that tie in closely with the original LSPDFR and don't fit into my other modifications' theme. It is similar to British Policing Script, but without the 'British' part, I guess
Currently Planned Features for Initial Release:
Overhaul LSPDFR's Traffic Stop system to make the interaction more indepth (again, similar to British Policing Script). [Done] Add a highly compatible Court System for details of your suspects' sentencing. [Done] It will include an improved, less lethal Pursuit AI project I've been working on. [Done] Pursuit Tactics menu for the new pursuit AI [Done]. API for other developers to create court cases & more. [Done] Integration with British Policing Script, automatically disabling features British Policing Script already offers, while retaining others. [Done] Statistics Counter. [Done] Prevent UTurns during pursuits. [Done] More indepth Traffic Stop Questioning [Done] Any suggestions I find appealing - please let me know what you'd like to see in the Traffic Stop overhaul in particular.
Early version access is now open! All Loyalty participants currently have access - check out the Loyalty Rewards Programme.
-
liberto reacted to Albo1125 in Ambient Traffic Stops + Radio ChatterI can confirm traffic related audio files do exist (think of my ANPR hit's 'Traffic Alert') and that there are various ones that could be used for something like this (e.g. the available 'Traffic Violation', 'Traffic Felony' etc.). I can simply cut & paste together audio files containing 'Traffic' and 'Stop' like I've done for various of my currently released modifications to create this.
As ambient traffic stops very likely are not high on the LSPDFR devs' development list I'll probably add a nice implementation of this into Traffic Policer in due course

liberto got a reaction from unr3al in Tone down default backup? It's funny how people wanted to have ambiant cops joining the chase in 0.2b, and are now complaining because they do :p
That being said, I agree that this should be configurable by the player. I personnally like it that way, but I don't have the RDE mod, so I don't experience all the "problems" you guys have (too short chases, etc).
What I would like to see tho, but it's just pure comfort, is to be able to define the percentage of units joining in. Or maybe a system to define the chase level (the higher the level, the more cops join in) I mean, IRL (yea, I like to think LSPDFR as a simulator :p), you don't have all cops on duty joining a single chase. They all have different tasks to do. For instance, the speedtrap guy will not take part of any chase, I assume, since his job for the day is to catch speeders.
So, that was just my 2 cents on this, to maybe add a little more realism, but I'm already fine with the current state of the auto-backup.

liberto reacted to Original Light in What is going on here?I see that others have already taken the time to respond to this little gem. I know that I'm a bit late, but I'm still going to throw in my two cents. I'll keep it short and sweet.
I, and other testing team members, have taken many hours out of our day to test the mod. We did test the mod, a lot. And you have no right to say we didn't, since you wouldn't know from the outside. LMS himself spent countless hours fixing bugs and polishing it the best he can. As far as I'm aware, he is the only one that develops the modification. Sam does a little too, but he also has priorities with running the site (as well as real life priorities, as we all do). I'm sorry you feel that we didn't work hard enough, but everyone did the absolute best they could.
As Cyan said, we don't owe you anything at all. This is something that's done during free time, it's not a job. And it's done for free. No one is making you use the mod, so remove it if you don't like it. If you feel that you can do better, then make your own modification.
That said, I'm sure the issues you're bringing up will be addressed in the future. But as of now, from what I can see, everyone is taking a bit of a break. A well deserved one at that.

liberto got a reaction from Original Light in What is going on here?I don't feel the same way about the "missing beta-testing" point, but even if I did, I think there are better ways of expressing your concerns (with all due respect). I mean, accusing G17 of releasing something without enough beta-testing (meaning too early) is quite audacious.
I'm not a fanboy by any means, I just am myself a developer, and I know pretty much what's going on behind the scenes. Quite franckly, I'm amazed at multiple levels as to how well G17 is communicating with its community, and also at addressing issues. Here are a few "rare" qualities you'll see in a game developing company:
Answering directly on the forums Taking into consideration ideas from players (see the patch notes and forum thread to find out by yourself) Communicating on features in progress (see all Sam's threads about 0.3) Delivering everything they promise... and even what they once said was "impossible" (arresting ppl without any gun drawn, ambient cops joining the pursuits (even if some of you don't like it, it's still a great addition IMO), etc...) Delivering something with very few bugs Making all this for... free!
So, honnestly, I don't get why you are complaining. Of course we want more, of course we ALWAYS want more. But accusing G17 Media of being "bad" is a no-go to me.
